History
History
The Talan is a Punjabi Jat gotra clan found in India. Talan Jat tribe was originated from Jalandhar, Punjab. Talan clan people follow Sikhism or follow Hinduism. The Talan People present population reside in Punjab, Delhi, Harit Pardesh.According to the author of the Gazetteer of the United Provinces of Agra and Oudh writing in 1878 these tribes migrated about a hundred years ago from Punjab to their present areas(Delhi-NCR) and settled there. The author also remarks that the mother tongue of "' Talan People "' is Punjabi but due to surrounding they speak Hindi and some of them was migrated during the time of partition from Punjab toward the Delhi & they settled down there. Some Talan Villages is near by Noida International Airport.
People belonging to this gotra write it as Talan (तलान), Talan (तालान) , Talanu (तालानू) , Tahlan (ताहलाण), Taliyan (तालियान) it is all due to difference in region and language touch.
The biggest village of this gotra is Chhur (Meerut). Some hundreds years ago, Taliyan/Tahlan 's migrated from Jassaur Kheri (जैसोर खेड़ी/ खेड़ी जसौर) and settled down in Chhur , Dichaon Kalan , Nangli , Baprola. Jasaur Kheri is the Parental Village of the people of this Gotra.

Language
Language/Boli : The language spoken is some distorted form of Punjabi . It has 60% hindi and 40 % Punjabi. The accents are neutral and no where matches with Punjabi people. Example : “Where are you going ” will be spoken as “kithhe nu jaaye raye ho” and "What are you doing will be spoken as "Ki kr rhe ho".
Religion
90 - 95 % of the people are registered as Hindus in 1950 in their religion but they all go to gurudwaras and all Talan are the descendants of Sikhs. Overall it has lot of influence of Sikhism. Ladies do fasting also and going to gurudwara.People registered as Hindus because of SGPC and other bodies have failed to attract people and tell them there history,so ultimately everyone will turn Hindu .
