Nandal

Nandal (नांदल) Nadal (नादल) Nandar (नांदर) Nadar (नादर) Nander (नांदर) Nadarya (नादर्य) Bohariye (बोहरिये ) Nanda (नंदा) is a Jat clan, found in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, India and in Pakistan. They are of Middle Eastern descent, specifically Iranian, or Persian.

History

Mahabharata Shalya Parva mentions names of combatants armed with diverse weapons and clad in diverse kinds of robes and ornaments, All of them came to the ceremony for investing Kartikeya with the status of generalissimo. Shalya Parva in Sanskrit mentions in shloka 63 Nandal along with Hans as under:

हंसजः पङ्कदिग्धाङ्गः समुद्रॊन्माथनश च ह

रणॊत्कटः परहासश च शवेतशीर्षश च नन्दकः ।। 63 ।।

Distribution in Haryana

Nandal's are generally present near Panipat, specially in Dahar, Khukhrana. Rohtak, specially Bohar Village. In Rohtak, there is even a village named Nandal with sirname Nandal near Lakhan Mazra. Even though the majority of the caste live in Haryana and Rajasthan, a few selected families live in North America or Europe. Nandal is a prominent Khaap or gotra of Jats in Haryana. Mostly Nandals are spreads over Rohtak, Sonipat,Panipat, Jhajjar, Kurukshetra and Kaithal districts.

• [[ Satish Nandal]-I took my first breath on 03.06.1965 at the holy village RITHAL in Rohtak District of old Punjab state (Now Haryana). I took my middle education from Govt. Middle School Rithal, High and Secondary education from Govt. Boys Sr. Sec. School R.K.Puram, New Delhi. I completed B.Sc. • Ch. Kundan Singh Nandal from Bohar village who established the village in 1124 A.D. (Vikrami Samvat 1181 Falgun Badi Panchmi) upon his grandfather name Ch. Bohrsi Nandal. Bohar village is origin of all the Nandal jats. Presently Bohar Village has two gram panchayats i.e. Bohar-Bhopan & Bohar- Melwan. The population of village is more than 20000. Mostly land of the village has been acquired by government due to urbanization & industrialization of Rohtak city. All the HUDA Sectors, MD University, PGI, Model Town, Tilak Nagar, Bharat Colony, Ramgopal Colony, Basant Vihar, Tau Nagar, Sun City are located in the demarcation boundary of village.

Nanda Jats are said to be of Georgian, Tatar, Kazakh and Chechen origin. They are mostly found in Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Okara, Islamabad, etc.
