Irresepective of whether Hooda does it or Chautala does it, I think SEZ is actually a better thing for development of a place.
I am not crying foul because Ch. Hooda has decided to do it .... I hail from Rohtak and naturally more supportive of Hooda Ji .. SEZ's are fundamentally wrong in the India context .. maybe if they were put in place 20 years ago they would have been good ... but today they are a means of decieving the landowners of their land
If you talk about land of farmers, how much does a farmer earns yearly on 1 acre of farm? I don't think its more than 1-2 lakh. Even if say he earns 2 lakh per annum, a farmer with even 1acre of land is getting 23 lacs which means atleast 11 yrs. of his income right away w/o doing anything. Is that really a bad deal? With that kind of money, he can provide best of education to his children and still have some money at his disposal to buy land elsewhere and continue farming.
Your calculations are not right my dear friend ... even if a farmer earns 50000 on his little piece of land ... the land itself is an asset which increases in value every year .. so it accumulates value and provides an earning just like shares ... but is a much more safer and dependable asset .... and the land that we are talking about .. the land near NCR, the value of that land is increasing rapidly ... So not only land provided a source of income .. however meagre it maybe .... it is also an asset which increases in price and provided those poor village folks some security. Why should a Jat family who has lived in a village for generations relocate and leave everything behind, just because Ambani wants to start a factory there ?? What logic is that ??
How can you say that the SEZ's will only employ baniyas, punjabis? I have never seen in a private company that interviewer asks ur cast and then employs you. As far as ur educated and qualified you can get a job. End of the day, its survival of the fittest..Why can't Jats have the so called cosy high-paying jobs? Most of us are already doing that..
I can say that on the basis of what i see happening at present ... you tell me in a city like Rohtak .. with a dominant Jat population how many Jats do you find in a Relaince office ?? How many ??
How many are there in HSCB or ICICI ......not many mate hardly even 20%
So this is how I can say that Jats probably will not be employed there except maybe as factory labour. And in fact "most of us" is actually a minority in our Kaum .... dont fly high in the dream world ... most of the Jats because of their weak language skills and social prejudice still are not faring so well in the private sector .... So hence the jobs generated will end up with Punjabis, Pandits and Baniyas .. and the evidence is the current employment trends in big private companies
And if Jat is nothing without his farmland, how come you all are propering now? If our parents had stuck to farming, we would also be in the fields today watering the farms. Please come out of the mindset that only farming is the rozi-roti. There are numerous avenues, the need is to find and accept them. Today farms in villages get divided between 3-4 children and it will keep getting divided if everybody stays in village. What will the farmers earn with half an acre of land?
We are prospering because of that very farm land .. because we know we have a great asset .. our land .. which is anything goes wrong we can fall back on ... More than that the Jat identity itself is not complete without the ancestoral land ... without a village and the rural society ... Maybe you living in the US are too modernised and dont agree with me .... but I have lived in 8 different countries ... and still call my village home and still write Gram: Ugalan, Tehsil: Hansi as my permanent address
