need your advice

first of all i want to thank you sir for helping people like me who wants to do sometihng in life and need guide.

actually sir my brother have done b.com from delhi university. he has also done mba from pune but distance learning.he has also work exprience as he done job for 2 years in hindustan times as accountant. now he is trying to get visa for usa.he has a friend in usa and he is saying my brother can get visa with ease. sir i want to know that now my brother is 32 year old does it matter? or he is very good in account and he wants to do cpa from usa. is it possible if he gets visa.sir pls can you suggest me some professional course which he can do and find a good future. sir i trust you as i am a member of jatland and read thread of yours.so i need your help and you suggesstion for my brother .everyone want a good future and you can help my brother in it. pls reply soon .

I have read few posts here, my advise is learn the language first. SAT test in US for high school students who wants to pursue their college education. If you want to pursue higher education in US, you will have to take GRE type exams. Let me tell you from experience these tests are hard, they are not about memorising answers from some book, albeit test your knowledge in written english, grammar, punctuation etc. Its even harder for technical fields like engineering, computer science, where you have to do critical thinking aka critically analyze given situation. There is no right or wrong answer to these questions, its all about aptitute.
You can use internet for relevant research.
 
Ph.D in nuclear engineering

Is there possibilty to get Ph.D in USA without gre.presently i am workin as a nuclear engineer .i have 4 year experience in this field.please suggest me how to get Ph.D .

I am Abhishek Chhikara(Delhi). I am in final year of my B.Tech(Electronics & Communications) from IP Univ Delhi. I am applying for M.S. in Electrical Engineering for Fall 2009.
My profile details are-

B. Tech Aggregate % - 75%
X- 89% , XII-88%(DPS,VASANT KUNJ)
GRE-1370(600+770) , TOEFL-RESULT AWAITED
I have done summer training projects from National Physical Lab(NPL) and Centre for Development Of Telematics(C-DOT)
Also I am the Chairperson of IEEE Student Branch at my Institute

I am applying to following universities:-

Univ Of Illinois(Urbana Champaign)
Georgia Institute Of Technology
Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana)
Univ of Southern California, Los Angeles(Viterbi)

Please comment on my choices of univ, also tell me if I am aiming too high. Do I stand a definite chance to get into any of these. Also suggest some universities for Electrical Engineering, which have good reputation and nice overall atmosphere to study.

affordable to my pocket and also which is convinent to my work too.Altough

I have submitted my application from MD.University India for that but the thing

is that if it is abroad that will be more beneficial for my future.Or pl advise

Sir i am Vinod Kumar Sheoran(Jat) From haryana. i feel very
happy then see the jat land.com And halping hand for jat comunity all over the world.Now education & economic power is the vipon to fight against any problem.
i want to do Ph.D. in famous university of canada or USA. but i dont have that much money. I am in MA sociology in JNU Delhi. is there any provision for scholorship, i am physicaly effected also by one hand (70%)

Doing B.S from US, a four year course will be very expensive as compare to same from Inidan university.
Tution fees can range anywhere from $10K -40K per year. Plus expenses
B.S from us does not make sense, but MS and PHd does.

Dear Vandana:

Here are some universities in USA which offer PhD program in Food Science, you can go to their web sites and read the admission requirements. I am also sending their website links in your E-mail so that you can research more. State universities are cheaper than UC. Once you get admission you can always do on campus part time job, which will take care of your expense. You may apply for research and/or teaching assistantships through your academic department. Every University has student employment center which provides a searchable database of part-time, one-time, temporary, and summer full-time job opportunities. Later during your course you can apply for scholorships. All the universities have section for international students which guides you through admission process.
