Dear members,
What is your opinion about a woman who makes a pass at a man? Consider that man has neutral feelings towards the woman.
Thanks

Anju Ji, ye kahan ka bakheda utha diya, ab aise aise comments milenge ki bichare moderators delete karte karte pareshan ho jayenge :eek:
However, I think there are some structural flaw in your question.
There in no man in this world who has neutral feelings towards women..... and if there is one.... then he must be either a neutral or gay.....
If a girl/woman make pass at such a man, she must be doing social work, as she is trying to bring that man back in the mainstream of our society.

I think the question is intended to be based on the assumption that the man has no explicit attraction or revulsion towards the said woman. Say you are at a party where 100 women are there. Even the most virile man won't feel attracted to all of them in one go. And then all of a sudden, from nowhere, a woman makes an unanticipated pass on you. I think the assumption is important, as if you don't have "neutral" feelings to start with, then you can easily react positively/-vely. The question wants to strip you of any emotions for the said woman and then see her action in "moral & values" terms. That is my take.

Anju , you have inherited abaggage of sorts ;)

Anyways , coming to your question , I would personally be a lil skeptical of any women making bold intrusions ( just the midset you know! ).

But yeah for sure I would not mind a bit of forward-ness so to say!

Guess if there is enough seriousness + genuine-ness involved , I personally would not mind giving it a due long thought!

Though not sure about the others as you already have a couple of comments on the thread describing the general opinion , still less enough to be statistically significant though ! :) Waiting for that 30 - rule of thumb to be crossed :D Kapil , am i right ? ;)

When I was in 9th class - a girl made a pass at me for the first time during physics tuition class.

Back then I was very self reliant boy who believed in solving all my problems with my own hands using the laws of physics.

I did not know what to say to her, but after that incident, I became conscious. In anticipation, I used to bathe and brush my teeth before I went to tuition, I also put a ton of cheap army CSD canteen cologne. I also bought some new clothes.

These changes were not lost on my mother - I think the cologne might have tipped her off. She summoned me one day before I was about to leave for tuition class looking like an underage gigolo. Her initial polite exhortation that I was such a good student and should focus on studies segued into grabbing my ear and twisting it really hard - it would put a kaantod pehalwaan to shame.
However, this did not deter me, I was still playing nain matakka with that girl in tuition class. After coming home from tuition, I used to wonder how miserable Thakur might have been in Sholay after Gabbar chopped his hands off.

I got bolder by the day and one day asked by dad for a Bullet motorcycle. That did not go down well because my mother immediately jumped in and told him her half-baked story about my bad intentions. My dad punked me by buying me a used Bajaj Priya scooter. Then I moved away and that was that.

Anju, who is this fast girl you are talking about? I want to make sure if its the same girl I met in 9th class.

The fast, furious and the forward...

With the new wave in the air and keeping up with the times...She would definitely have to be super fast to act on the first instinct in accurately recognizing the real man from the pansy, ... then put her best foot forward when she is absolutely sure and finally - once successful; furiously defend her man from the other 'men'!!!

...and oh yes, like you asked: if the man is a 'neutral' (and all the happy for it), her energies would be all but royally wasted! :D:D:D

[Oh wait, golly! Am I under the influence of certain other thread, still???... just Not done! :D]

I suppose you have got your answer by now.

My Suggestion:

Don't want to give lecture about Indian male mindset as I'm sure you know that already but my suggestion would be.....

Indian context - Don't do it, ever, You will be judged. And the whole world will be informed with mirch masala and garnish.

Western Context - Normal response, even if you backtrack, your feelings will be respected. I think they will probably find it flattering but nothing more than that :), no judgement will be passed.

Depends upon which India you are talking of. India has changed a lot my dear friend and its changing as we write.

This is coming along beautifully Watson!

...Aa-ha! To haan milord, gaur kiya jaye and let me make it simple if in case you [you don't already know 'all about it' like he insists!] got confused with that big umbrella answer: Since Deepak (welcome buddy!) himself comes from the Indian Context, so as far as your question regarding, "What is your opinion about a woman who..."goes; to bhaiyee uska answer upar likhh diya gaya hai, lock kiya jaye! ;) [Gosh deepak, brutal man!]

LOL! :D You know, I really liked how at least someone can talk about the Indian male versus his obviously better gifted 'western' counterparts sensibilities with so much ablomb and confidence!...
BTW look, in the spirit of not leaving anyone out (or else Kapil is gonna come after you Deepak... and no, not the way you thinkin'!) please do enlighten us here on Jatland how it stands with the Indian Female mindset versus their Western context....

Thanks Khalkhundeji, I had seriously begun to wonder whether if the modern 21st century Indian male now needs to really wear a 'rainbow' band on his arm and feign joining the 'liberated' bandwagon to show proof that he is not living in the dark ages or the caves anymore!... ;) [Iron the shirt, B#@%h!!!] :D:D:D

Shailendra, Indian history is full of such incidences where a woman made pass on this so called neutral man. I can't recollect a single case where man did not loose his senses in full. Talking and writing on this subject was taboo only during last two centuries. Number of Indians expressing their feelings openly on such subjects is increasing rapidly. Who could predict few years back that Indian Judges will legalise gay relations. Leave aside few perturbations, No one really cares about this any more.
