We are 1.15 billion now , we are tipped to be the world most populous nation in a few years.
Possibilities are enormous and so are the challenges. In a fast changing world , we not only have to keep up with the culture and values that we have set forward as a nation but we also have to bear the burden of being called the world's "biggest" democracy. To top everything we are in that crucial phase of development where a push can lead us to great heights and a feeble effort can put on the stagnation
path. Its not about looking to others for the work and effort but it is all about a collective responsibility.

If each one can share the vision of a dream India then why cannot each one share the work and the passion to transform ourselves into better individuals , better humans and better countrymen.

Often we have talked about it and discussed this at length , in schools , in debates as kids , in colleges , with elders and with young folks , with fellows and friends. We are called a country where everyone will have some opinion or the other. It is time when we form that opinion but not on lines of castes , religions , sects but on the lines of progress and development and the futuristic vision. Most of the times we have concluded in our lengthy debates on the ways to get our nation forward is through education , is through women empowerment , through youth participation ,through responsibility sharing. Who can understand the plight of the youth of today than a common person who has been in the system , who has been in the age group that looks for employment. What our brothers and sisters need ,what are their priorities and what are their ambitions and goals , who better than one of them.

I am not being overtly optimistic , neither i am sure on whether this would be the correct choice , rather I am excited on the fact that someone who is just like us has taken that bold step of not only fighting for himself , but for the brethren of the "common man".

We need someone who understands how difficult is to manage expectations in this cut throat world , how difficult is to pass the tough and one of the world's most competitive exams , who understand what it takes to be able to get an employment , what it takes to survive in this age. One who has gone through the same contradictory influences of the traditional roots and the modern amenities , one who knows how and when to make compromises , one who knows how to reconcile the rules of the past with the vision of the future. One who does not look back at what he lost but one who knows that the future lies in moving on , in learning from our experiences , in adapting and in evolving.

If not anything else it is that nice feeling of freshness. It is that nice fragrance where we can associate ourselves with people who control out lives, fortune , and future. Till the day we start associating with our politicians , till we start seeing our reflections in them we will never be able to assert or ignite that passion.

Let us stand united , let us show support , let us pledge help and extend ideas to make the "common" dream , the dream of you and me and of everyone a reality. It is time that we move on , we move on from the same promises , same philosophies,
same ideologies and the same faces and the same families in the politics of our beloved nation. Since our so called "leaders" could not do it for us , let us all give the "common man" a chance for a change. The only difference I can see is that this time we are not with the person we wish to elect , rather he is with us.

Vote for the Change,
Vote for the common Man,
Vote for the Youth,
Vote for the Future.

I invite people to post their frank opinion on what I said above.
One of my friend Sumit Dalal ( JL profile: http://www.jatland.com/forums/member.php?u=3330 )
is contesting the coming assembly elections(MLA) in Haryana.
He will be contesting from Beri constituency.

This is what he says:
=====================================================

I have decided to take my step.I am not sure what might be the
outcome, whatever it be,I want to move ahead.Politics is dirty.I too
accept it.But there is one point where we differ. We have democracy and
in democracy the only way u can bring that change is through geting
into politics.I am sorry, not discouraging anyone, only social work
will not help.We need to take firm steps. If politics is dirty, should
we not get into it?I think the opposite, its dirty because people like
you and me are not into it.We need to take a step and I have taken
mine.

Thank you Rakesh.

Anil i haven't met or talked with sumit but i know one thing for sure that Haryna Punjab and UP needs young blood in lead role. And we also need new people in politics so that this democracy shall remain democracy and bhai bhatijawad should be removed from politics.
Raja ka beta hi raja bane ye rule democracy mein nahi hota.
And i don't think there is anyone who can deny the fact. Mera halka meham hai aur mujhe nahi lagta ki log Dangi ko vote dena chahte hain par use nahi dein to kise dein? Is samasya ka samadhan hona chahiye.
Election mein hi parties kyun khadi hoti hain pehle ye log ek samaj sevi ki tarah kyun kuch nahi karte? Bus yehi sikayat hai

Hi Rakesh,

Thank you for your views. I will intimate Sumit about it.

I also wish to add a couple of points:

1). I do not have grasp of Haryana , its area and politics , please excuse me on that.
2) I am somewhat confident that they are fielding candidates from all constituencies.
3). As I said in 1) , i do not have idea on the party's work in the state and that is precisely the reason I did not invite anyone to vote for the party, about Sumit I know things in person and hence very confident about him. He is 25 ,finished his studies last year , he is a post graduate in law from MDU. He has been involved in many works on the institute level. He has been a sportsperson as well. Apart from that he has also been involved in Sneha-Sparsh, an organisation that helps orphan children to get the best of quality education (www.sneha-sparsh.org) , Sumit has been a founding member and did a lot of ground work regarding the same.

I personally have lot of hopes on him and wish him that he gets an opportunity to work on them.

As I said in my opening post , I am more excited at the opportunity of someone who is very much like "us". :)

Speech is not clear, Any written versions.

The speech is not clear and they are making video and posting over you tube toh unko ek website bhi maintain kar lene chahiye. Jahan par written material bhi mil jaye and all links could be aggregated. Phir dekhta hai ki kya mudde hai and what we can do for him.

As he already choose a tough location. So Mudde should be ground reality and how come he alone would improove them? as people ask first question what alone he would be able to do when not in government and what will be his role in next five year? Along government aur solid opposition?

Best of Luck.

Well Anil Sir
when even on jatland people just came to know about that party how other people will come to know about it?
Is baar ke election ki bajaye next election mein unhe khada hona chahiye tab tak har halke ke gehri paith rakhne wale logo ko ekjut karna chahiye. Kuch samajik gatividhiya karwani chahiye. Sarkar ke galat fainslo par logo ko saath lekar protest karne chahiye.Jab koi janta nahi to wo vote kyun dega?

maine bahadurghar ke bus stand per dekha tha hording iss party kaa jime ramesh dalal ji ki 1 tasveer bhi hai
tab mujje kuch samaj nahi aaya
ab pata chala hai ki ye 1 poltical party hai

lekin abhi inhe kaffi time or kaffi hard work lagega koi bhi seat election me jeetne ke liye

His party is Haryana Swatantra Party. The founder is Ramesh Dalal , Sumit's father.

A few speeches of Sumit can be found at:

Thanks!

First of All let me congratulate you & your friend for taking this initiative
and Anil one more thing , You might have got this earlier as well but you
write really well.
All the best to your friend and his father and there Party.

Me not being pessimist but practical, i think Its not true that someone who is educated or who knows what is mentioned above by you will solve the plight of the people or if he has taken the competitive exam he will work harder in solving plights of one n all.
Look at the history of IAS or top hotch-notch of education ar some other
industry who have fought electon and won at first place leave alone solving the issues, its hardly 50%. If you look at our current PM who is i think most educated person of all politician and someone who brought country out of 1991 economic crisis but look at him this time what he has done, hume bhai padhe huye nahi kadhe huye log chahiye jinhi Jamini log se lagaw ho , jo unki ehsaas ko samjh sake, unhe janta ho unki samsayon ka hisa bane.
We definitely need young blood but what they do after they win, nothing. They dont speak on issues of common man. I heard the interview of Dipender when he became MP for the first time, he said his top priority was education ( we still dont have teachers in govt school in villages and people are still job of teacher after paying the money) and to stop female foeticide (it has gone up only instead of going down.) What other young MPs of congress namely,Hooda Scion, Shuruti Chaudhry, Ashok Tanwar, Kumari selja said on Dharana issue, others issues and what they are doing for youth?

One more thing, it will be better if start accepting bhai-bhatijawad in
politics instead of cribbing about this because its here to stay.

All the best to him n i hope he proves me wrong.

i happen to be in touch with this creature called ‘sumit dalal’ on JL nd orkut… though i don’t know him much, but i did saw/read a vision/determination in his thoughts.

hope of any nd every nation is visible through the deeds of its youth, the same applies to our motherland, as i put forward my very best wishes for sumit dalal. i thought of n’vr touching this subject again, but then can’t help it out… as i am reminded me of an ‘ol thread “kyaa akela chana bhaad phod sakta hai”. carrying my thoughts further, of what i left on tht thread nd vis-à-vis the subject… here i go once again…

india is an unfortunate polity tht is irrecoverably damaged by a political culture which has always been pro-party, pro-person nd anti-people nd anti-national. our nation is suffering frm “internal political terrorism” precipitated by our leaders of all hues nd colour, nd their myopic internal nd external policies. these policies, most of the time, ignore the obvious… the finer sentiments of common man. he, in his turn, hopes for the best every other election nd his plight is taken to new lows every time he pins some hope on the leaders he happens to elect… period !

… how many politicians worth the salt can claim tht they have done much of their political career for the welfare of the nation?
… how many are there who can say tht they haven’t done anything to foster any kind of animosity between people of different communities nd political ideologies?
… is there any politician who is conscious enough to tell the younger ones tht they can follow his or her political path, so they could be worthy Indians?

they all say they serve the nation. but our nation does deserve much higher nd nobler service than what these politicians are able to do for it. the common man, who has always been the victim of this “internal political terrorism”, stands no chance at all to play any role in either countering this menace or precipitating anything. he has been a voter ever since independence nd he is going to be so in the ages to come too. then, who is responsible for these debilitating behaviours meted out to them time to time nd time nd again. the fate of this mighty nation is miserable in hands of these “internal political terrorists” nd this is what makes the divisive forces hatch plots nd ploys to counter the petty political nd parochial community appeasing attitudes nd policies initiated by our so called political big-wigs election after election. parties adopting the song “jai ho” nd some others molding it to “bhay ho”. is it a game or an election? are they showing their own feelings or playing with our feelings nd especially those who get affected by such tantrums?... sick !!!

every one especially the noble nd educated class is afraid of the political field nd its people. we select them but remain frightened to deal with them. why can’t we have a parliament like few countries of the west, having deserving people nd their backgrounds known to all? why can't we have only counted leaders with respectable qualification nd noble backgrounds?

my best wishes again for sumit… as I take out an old quote of mine, from JL archives…

... all we can hope to control is our own thoughts nd actions... realizing this, we will not act with the pre-conceived notion that we will change others. we simply nd sincerely do the best we can. in this way, we are acting from our true nature. with sincerity and selflessness, we will avoid becoming disheartened and will actually have the best chance of touching others. touching others, we can make a difference as quoted by me above citing the example of gandhiji/mandela... putting it in other words, i wud say tht i look for the north star, and i go to the north... tht does not mean i expect to arrive at the north star. i just want to go in that direction.
p.s. : ... they say politics make strange bedfellows, hope this is not true in the case.

hume bhai padhe huye nahi kadhe huye log chahiye jinhi Jamini log se lagaw ho , jo unki ehsaas ko samjh sake, unhe janta ho unki samsayon ka hisa bane.

Thank you rinku for your candid thoughts and wishes.

Agreed with you whole heartedly on that actions need to back the words. Since I know this guy personally I can say with some confidence that he is one for the situation. Many a times I have argued at length with him and our thoughts differ at many places and the primary reason is that his are more close to the "Village Culture and System" and mine are more closer to the "City Types". He really understands the ground situation in the remotest of villages , not to mention the efforts he is under-taking to do more door to door visits than the big functions. He did start working on this earlier than the elections. Infact the early elections have actually cut his time. He already started working on ground , making village trips , talking with the elders , youth , women to understand their "isssues".

I can distinctly remember at least 3-4 incidents where he stood firm with the "common people" ( a couple of times in the Delhi Metro , on Bus Stops and on Auto Stands ) when even I advised him to stay away from possible troubles. :)

He has a lot of ideas and action plans and I have seen him implementing them as well in some "constructive work" that we did together.

More from him when he comes on his own , I will ask him to come and write over here.

Thanks again and look forward to more feedback and suggestionf from you,

Anil

Devender , not very sure on whether we have the written text , I will try and find out.

Regarding your question on what he will do , yes it is difficult to move alone but I also believe that there is always a lot to do if you are really interested in the same.

There is always a thing line in "starting now and small" and "waiting and trying to start big" , he has gone with the first option of starting now and believes he will be able to represent at least the people in his constituency and will take it from there.

Change like many other phenomenon is self-feeding and I strongly wish that it comes out this way with Sumit. And of course every contribution and support from others and person like yourself will have a big say in where the efforts of all of us take us eventually.

Thank you,
Anil

Thank you Rakesh for you suggestions. The party is there for some time now , I am guessing more than a couple of years at least. Sumit himself has been involved in few activities but I do not have a complete list so to say.

As I stated in one of my other post , always a choice between starting and waiting , since he has already started , lets take it on from here only and ofcourse we can always go back to quality work , in office or not , irrespective.

Thank you,
Anil
