opinion poll

An opinion poll conducted by AC Nielson on the October 13 assembly polls predicts that the ruling Congress is likely to win in Haryana with a safe margin.

The opinion poll gives 65 seats to Congress,:rock:rock 08 each to the INLD :p:pand the Haryana Janhit Congress,:p five to the BSP and only two seats to the BJP.:tamatar

73 per cent :)of the respondents felt Bhupinder Singh Hooda is a good chief minister while 70 per cent said the performance of his government has been good. Nearly 68 per cent feel that Hooda should be made the chief minister again.

Surveys have failed at times but may be it can be taken as an indication if not the gospel truth. BSP definitely is projected on the plus side but if this happens it will be very unfortunate for Haryana. Now we can have guesses on which seat goes to whom ;) ;)
captain sab aap kis polls ki baat karo so. sab ne dekh liye ke ye opinion polls kitne theeh aur sache hove se.ye sab in congress aur punjipatiyo ki prayojit sajis hoti hai desh aur pardesh ki janta ko barglane ki. is nelson ne UP ke election me BSP ko 100 se kam seats di thee aur natije aapne dekh kiye ke kya hua. ye polls bharose layak nahi hain. dusri channel ne ye nahi batye ke ye polls kis date se kis date ke beech ke hain. aaj kal ek ek din me samikaran bada rahe hain.

Survey conducted with 7668 voters.

The survey, conducted by Star News television channel and Nielsen, with 23,122 voters in Maharashtra and 7,664 voters in Haryana, predicts that in Maharashtra, Congress will get 88 seats .
In Haryana, the opinion poll gives 65 seats to Congress, eight each to the Indian National Lok Dal and the Haryana Janhit Congress, five to the Bahujan Samaj Party and only two seats to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 90-member assembly.
In Haryana, 73 per cent of the respondents felt Bhupinder Singh Hooda is a good chief minister while 70 per cent said the performance of his government has been good. Nearly 68 per cent feel that Hooda should be made the chief minister again.

Just keep in mind this survey was conducted with 7664 voters. Keeping in mind those voters i guess is not from villages. According to my guess they are from cities who tends to favor congress. But in villages the story is opposite and these surveys will make u think or i rephrase my words will make people think who have not yet decided to vote that it is congress who will form the government. I really think this should not be done before the elections. Well , as said things keep on changing and the views of the people can change.
As mentioned by one of the guys things keep on changing. I mainly think if there would have been a coaliation between 2 parties than congress would have been in a tough situation.
If we undermine few things and looka t the broader picture than a coaliation between HJC and INLD would have swept the polls. With the coaliation congress would have no chance at all.
If for few minutes we become practical and stop favoring anyone than i think people should vote for those candidates who have done real work in the constituency, instead of giving votes to the party.
Again these are my views and i dont want any one to be influences by these views or comment. But i still think the results should be little different from what everyone is predicting.

Rahul visiting Haryana to make a difference?

Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s Samalkha visit on October 10 help in changing voters’ preference in Samalkha? This is the question which is doing the rounds in the political circles of this constituency, which is all set to witness a four-cornered contest between Congress’ Sanjay Chhokar, INLD’s Manoj Jorasi, HJC’s Dharam Singh Chhokar and NCP Hari singh Nalwa.

With none of the parties having a consolidated vote bank in this constituency, it is expected to unfold surprises for many in the upcoming elections.
Going by the records, the Congress has won this seat four times in 1968 (Kartar Singh), 1972 -1991(Hari Singh), 1982 (Kartar Singh) and in 2005 (Bharat Singh), while the INLD bagged this seat only once in 2000 when Kartar Singh Badana contested on its ticket. According to political observers, contestants from Samalkha had made it to the state Assembly on their own as people do not vote for parties but individuals here.
This time, Manoj Jorasi and Hari Singh Nalwa are riding the popularity charts. Sanjay Chhokar is expecting that Rahul’s visit would spin wheels in his favour. Whether Rahul will be able to charm the voters or not, it remains to be seen.
BJP candidate Anju Chhokar is struggling to overcome her turncoat image as she had quickly switched over parties in the recent past. After spending quite some time in the Congress, she joined the HJC, abandoning which she bagged the BJP ticket.
Former Rajya Sabha member Hari Singh Nalwa(congress coandidate previously), who had represented this constituency after the 1972 and 1991 elections, is also in the fray from here. However, the age factor is not in his favour. Manmohan Bhadana is also contesting the elections on a BSP ticket and is hoping to cash on the newfound voters of the party. There are more than 1.43 lakh voters in this constituency out of which 22,000 votes are of the Gujjar community, while 23,000 belong to the Jat community. Brahmin voters also hold a position of importance with more than 15,000 votes.
I really Doubt his visit could do any change in here?

Give A number

So participants,

A lot of mud slinging and canvassing here.

So with 3-4 days left and opinion/ waves consolidating by now, what are your final predictions in numbers for Congress and INLD.

Just write the numbers here

Congress: 55-60
INLD: 5 - 12

Ramesh

Rujhaan upto now

INC : 50-55
INLD : 15-20
HJC : 3-5
BJP : 3-4
BSP : 1-2
Independent : 3-5

In my opinion congress would make govt. at least one more time.

Congress- 55-58
INLD - 10-12
HJC - 5-7
Independents- 4-6
BJP - 0-1
BSP - 0-2

Surveys are at the most an indication as they are conducted on a sample size but even our own site gives same indication:

Congress -------70 %
INLD------------23 %
BJP-------------5 % (Though there is not even an iota of chance of them coming to power, these guys must be in a jolly mood while voting:D:D )

Kalkal sahab
90 ka 70% banta hai 63 ek din mein 5 seat kit gayee?Taking maximum in account
90 ka 23% banta hai 20 8 aade bhi gayee
ek ek din mein itni seat udaoge to gayee rohtak ki CHAUDHAR
Bhajan Lal ji ko mukhya mantri ki gaddi mubarak ho.:rock:rock

My assumption is
Congress 45-48
INLD -25-30
HJC 10-12
Bjp 2-5
BSP- 1-4
Others -0-5
Definately chances are bright for congress. But no one can predict a voter. Last movement pe button dabate waqt bhi mind badal sakta hai.
Chahe kisi ki bhi sarkar aaye opposition bahut majboot hoga is baar. Aur jo theko ki bandar baat hui hai wo nahi ho payegi. Is baar wastavik dharatal par vikas dekhne ko milega na ki radio aur doordarshn par.

My Projection for Assembly Election 09:-

Congress# 43-56
INLD#9-18
HJC#5-9
BSP#0-3
BJP#2-5
Independents#6-11

Dear Samar

Your projection genuine and the ultimate result could be median of the range you have given. Here are two articles in Tribune that i feel is a good read:

Rohtak, Jhajjar
It’s Hooda clan vs others
Bijendra Ahlawat
Tribune News Service

The diminishing ‘Lal’ factor

http://www.tribuneindia.com/2009/20091010/haryana.htm#1

I feel, it is good summarisation of the current position.

Cheers!

Though the INLD, the BJP, the BSP and the HJC have their candidates here, the main contest is likely to be between Dangi and Shamsher Singh, sarpanch of Madina (Dangi’s native village), who is contesting as an Independent.

Final Voting!

Dear Jatlanders,

I am concludings the Poll here. It was for the prediction of a Party which would come with majority. It would be replaced with a New Poll in this thread.

Poll question was: Which Party is going to get Majority in Assembly Elections09

Results are:--

Congress = 95 Votes 69.34%

INLD = 35 Votes 25.55%

BJP = 7 Votes 5.11%

HJC = 0 Votes 00%

Congress is in Majority according to Jatland voters which were 137.

It is interesting to note that in the start of poll congress was far ahead but later on INLD has gained. HJC with no surprise got nothing from Jat voters from the forum.

Now, I am adding a new Poll for your Final Vote
Jats who are from overseas are specialy requested to cast their vote. We are going to assume that had they been in country they would have voted as well. I also request Female members to participate in voting.

Thank you.

it will be around

congress=38-45
INLD=18-25
BSP=0-2
BJP=1-3
INDEPANDENTS=3-4

So if one adds your projections up, the all the parties combined will get:

60 to 79 seats....(just added your minimums and maximums)

even if each party wins the max of the ranges you have indicated, then they all combined win 79 seats only....so you mean to say that HJC will win the rest?

Ramesh

It seems INLD has steadily picked up in the fag end of campaigning. The dissatisfied congress men on account of nomination are either fighting as independents or silently working towards ensuring defeat of official nomination. Whatever it is, INLD has picked up steam. But, to reach majority will be difficult. They should be happy to be anywhere near 20, and saving political annihilation for themselves. Congress can pull off 45-50 and rest amongst BJP -5, HJC-5, BSP -3-5.
Selection of Candidature is an important criteria and that makes all the difference in the final tally. It is the very same reason why BJP lost in delhi due to poor selection of candidate.
Last few days will be very interesting to observe which side tally turns.

Rgds,

Right on the money, Ramesh. Hooda mistook the success of parliament election and yes! huge dissatisfaction among party over distribution of ticket. Party workers were overlooked along with anti-incumbancy for the sitting MLAs. Party workers were surpassed to provide tickets to sycophants and those who had minus to nill understandings of ground politics.
Ticket were distributed as a safe play. In politics safe play is too risky. Sitting MLA went complacent and so does the campaign from central leaders. Campaign of Congress seems to be passive. They all are walking like a full stomach, slowly. On need to be a bit risky to establish his reigme second time. Party themselves provided the reasons to get criticised in an election which could have handled with least to nil issues.

It is surely not what it was couple of weeks back.

Which ever party wins, a strong opposition is vital for democracy.

Today the farmer is still selling the tomatoes @10 Rs in the mandi, but if he goes to the market to buy it, he will get it @30 Rs. The same is the scenario for all other commodities.

If the current equation is maintained, who would question where those 20 Rs are going?

-Arvind

wo 20 rs kamane ke liye kishano ko rehari lagani paregi , tabhi Rs 30/- kg tomato bech sakte hain
