Is the Ghoonghat necessarily required in today's time

To what extent the old Ghoonghat system imposed on ladies of Jat society can be justified? Is it necessarily required in today's time of exposure and demonstration.

JAT bhot modern ho liye par yo ghoonghat eb tak nahi utar liya?? Gaam me tai kai baar jawana( Young Boys) tai bhi ghoonghat karti dekhi sai.

Koi tau, tayi yaa bada budha member hi es per sahi rai de sake sai.

I Like ghoonghat system haha ! jo chiz jitni parde main rhe utni hi acchi lagti hai.

Dagar ji jasia aapne kha ki JAT modern ho lia .....Mante hai hum modern ho liye per ye to nhi hai aapne reti riwaaz bhul gaye

Koe baat na..we tai purane taage hoge thik sai. Eb es tage me ya baat karti hana sharm awa sai. Bhai ye baat tai puri jindagi nuye chaalti rahengi...........Baat sai discussion ki..........Es baat ka maine bhi bera sai iska kuchh HAL nahi lakdan aala.
 
dagar ji pahle hi ek thread mein karwa choth ko hatwane ki baat ka discussion hua hai,holi diwali ko bhi log delete karna chahte the,ab aap bolo rahe ho ki ghoonghat ko bhi hata do..sir ji aap ke tarike se society unsocial ban jaayegi...ghar mein har memeber k rahne ka ek tarika hota hai,jis se ek ajnabi ko pata lagta hai ki ye kaun hai...abhi ghhonghat hat jjayega,phir log bolenge k bahu us kamre mein kyon nahi ja sakti jismein sasoor or dadsara rahte hain...these things will only lead to randomness and chaos in community nd ultimately dessolution of our identity...

it depends on the culture and living style of a family.
its upto the place where you live and go,
i dnt agree with long ghoonghat n all.
its ok dat u respect elder n head must be covered in front of in laws.
wen it came to parents home,a gal is free to wear what she want.
 
prreti ji..long ghoonghat cutom i think is already gone far behind..its nw only smwhere seen in few dstricts of rajasthan..bt in haryana think its totally vanished except in sm old ladies...nd thats quite exciting whe n u see an old lady with long ghoongaht in these days ....ek baar isi baat per maine apni taayi ji ko kaafi tang kiya or bada maza aaya..i said come on taayi u r n modernworld..say goodevening to dadaji.." she said jb tu apni lal palle wali laye us se karwa lena evning evening ....mein to aise hi thik huin.."..ha ha that was quite fun...i think these r few things wd which v remember our culture ..these should b maintained...

To What extent the Old Dhoti, Kurta, Khandwa, Pajama system imposed on Ledas of jat community can be justified? Is it neccessarily required in today's time of exposure and demonstration?

Jat bhot modern ho liye par yo Dhoti Kurta Pajama eeb taayi nahi utar liya? Gaam me tai kai baar Jawan bhi dhoti kurta, khandwa, pajama paharte dekhe sai.

Koi tau , taayi ya koi badha buddha member [ Jis dhore mere jitna faaltu time ho sochan ka aur likhan ka ] hi is per rai de sake sai.
 
samar ji agar aap pahnawe ki bat kar rahe hai to wo to time or place ke hisab se hot hai..if any body want ki gaon mein ladke suit pahan ke ghhomein,thats not possible..bt yes if they r wearing kurta payjama nd going to colleges or anywhere outside then its ugly...bt i hv seen our village boyz when they hv to be gentleman..wearing nice suits...i hv seen village boyz spending 3-4thousand rupees on nike,reebok,adidas shoes,levi jeans

if i will talk of haryanavi new generation 90% of them never wear cheap clothes nd same apply to grls..
nd if u think of maintaining personality wd clothings then that comes out of ur attitude,ur knowledge,ur skills nd ur presence...not wd ur clothes....swami vivekananda used to wear bhagwa when he addressed crowed in chicago...mahatma ghandi used to be in khadi...

Bhai gaam ke to haam bhi kade kade armani suits bhi chele sa kade kade kurta pajama bhi.

Kade kade tolli bhi bane sa kade kade Disco bhi pucch je se

kade kade dhud lassi bhi pi le sa or Daru ko manaai kona


Change accha hota hai per aapne rati riwaj ko change mat karo. jo itna accha culture hai usko to banye rhako.
Puri trha se Culture ko bhul jana acchi baat to nhi

ravinder ji ..i joined this site in aprl 2011 bt m active from last 1 week only coz of my bzy schedule.....bt i want to express one thing that wt i noticed here that ppl are posting their individual opinion as thread..nd that are total irrelevant...that creats frustation nd is waste of time to read....becoz of that i feel that many of d members r trying to avoid this site....

when sm seriuos discussion is going on ppl start individual fight....one suggestion i want to gv that before starting any thread please jst see that same or related thread has already been started...i also started one thread then apne samar kadian bhai reminded me that its already started.....
one more thing that d moderator if can do smthing about the limit of threads or acceptance or rejectio criterion of a thread will b better...or they can create like if some portion of members are voting against d thread then it will be rejected automatically...

Laag sai dukhati nas pe haat tek diya manne..Reply dekhte hai ji ne ban gi....bhai ulahana kahna chawtaa hoga tu......koi baat naa sahar me rah rah kai boli me thoda fark aa jaa sai.................hindi me tera JAAT land likhan na deta.....na aur clear ho ja he. Ulhane ka matlab yoye hai jo tann samajh liya Mere taaga shuru karn tai.(ak kisi ki baat naa rakhi)mere khyal me is te zyada spashat tai hoye na saktaa. Aur tai baat theek rahi........Eb tu nuy bata Es ulhana ka Ghoonghat tai ke link hai...........ISKA itihaas aur baaki baat tai in person milga jab samjhyi ja sake sai......


NOTE:---- manne taaga shuru kara tha...apni do baat share karn tai aur do baat auro ki sunan taayi. bhai gaamaa ki thinking tai jaanu sun par sochi dekhaa jaatland ke maansa ki soch es baare me kisi hai kyunki haad tai puri duniya ke jaat baithe hai. Par laag se tann yaa baat pasand naa aayi.

it means you are in favour of Ghoonghat. Taking Ghoonghat for respecting elders..Can you elaborate this...
..kul mila ke baat yaa hai...ak male jaat tai pure tariya modern ho liye...par female jaat ebai developing stage me hai. lagaa ga tame aur thoda sa....
 
Jaha tak mujhe patha hai ki goonghat system ghar kai bade budo ko respect dene kai liye banaya gaya tha.

Agar ghar mai bahu ka pathi na ho aur sirf bimar sasur hai ,ti kya fir bhi bahu lambha gunghat der kai sasur kai aage jawe????????

Aghar bahu nai sir par bhi sari ka palla rakha hua hai aur gunghat nahi kiya hua to kya yeh badho ka respect nahi hai??????

bhaio bade-buddo ki respect aur ijjat sirf labhe gunghat & purdho sai nahi hoti ,respect dil sai hota hai

Is baat mai koi do raye nahi ki villages & cities kai culture mai aaj bhi kafi difference hai.Agar hum gaon mai rehte hai ,to hume thoda vaha kai culture kai according rehna chaie.
Jaha tak baat hai parda-system ki usme kuch kamia jarur hai,just like we have burkha-systems in Muslims.

As per my experiences i have seen many girls in my own village,they have cleared the PCS/PSU exams & they are placed at very good positions lekin jab bhi vo gaon mai aati hai ,humseha kam sai kaam sar par palu jarur rakthi hai............

I remember aaj sai 1 saal pehle ,Meeut ki SP ak lady thi ,she was a jaat belonging to Baghpat & the jaat DM(Bhuvnesh kumar).There was the agitation movement going on for land-acquistion by the farmers of nearby villagers of baghpat-road & outer villages of meerut.

Bhen mayawati ji kisano ko bhot jute lalach diye magar kissan piche nahi haat rahe thai ,sarkar nai pura daam lagahr rakha tha ,maghar yeh to dunia janti hai ki jab jaat apni pai aate hai to kisi ki nahi sunthe.

Fir last mai CM sahiba nai lady SP nai & DM sahab vo vaha bheja, unone gaon kai bade -budo kai peer chuhe aur lady SP bakayda saree pehan kar gaon gayi thi aur sir par chuni rakhar .uske baad SP sahiba nai gaon aki bado sai request ki aur unka ashirwad liya uske baad yeh movement khatam hui thi...................


To mere bhaio agar vo jaat lady IPS ,bado ka respect na karthi ,to tume lagtha hai ki vo movement finish ho jati ??????????
Gaon pradhan nai media mai kaha tha ,ki mari beti nai humse vada kiya ki hume humari jamino ka sahi paisa milega,islie hum movement bandh kar rahe hai......aur aisa hua bhi................

What about your friend in the picture? Would she do ghoonghat? Would you advise her to do so?

Or let's say you marry a foreigner (since you wrote in another thread how much you like foreigners)- genuine question, please don't take otherwise.
 
If the Indian mythology is to be accepted as authentic account of our ancient traditions, the veil (ghoonghat) finds no place. All the female characters in our ancient books/epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata have been portrayed in haute couture attires made of chiffon or velvet viz. saari and sleeve less blouse with the lingerie inside clearly visible. Not to speak of veil. I think veil was introduced to save the beautiful girls and ladies from the evil eyes during Mughal empires. It could be a matter of choice, and should no longer be imposed as a custom. It is reminiscent of an age when the tyrant Muslim Rulers used to forcibly take the beautiful women as their brides. The situation has now changed. Under another thread, I have already mentioned merits and demerits of veil.
