There I agree, but I would call it more of a marketing skill than leadership.

Shivraj Chauhan and Nitish Kumar, both have grown their state much better than Modi but have failed to market themselves. Or if I may say, they have focused on real development rather than creating mountain of a molehill.

Swaich,

This is also a good leadership skill that he can present better than others. So far no other CM has come in front of media and delivered speeches like Modi.

Tanne aade kaangrease ke against jo cartoon hai wo chep diye ar question karya ak ye galat hai ya nahi.. (galat to hai).
Par tu wo e hai jisne thode din pahla BJP ke against ek cartoon chipkaya tha "Cant resist but share" jaisa kuch kah ke. par us cartoon ko question nahi kiya tha ki ye galat hai ya nahi!!
.
No, you are wrong here brother, read:

Jo cartoon congress ke against tha wo main islie nahi chepa tha ki wo congress ke against hai but because usme jo bhasha use ki hai wo bhaddi hai, wo thread social media ki freedom ke bare main tha and it was a fine example. Bhai tu mujhe itna hi follow karta hai to ja ke context aur meri objection padh uspe and I hope you agree with my objection there.

Jo BJP ke against tha wo ek bhasha ki hadd main rah kar kia gaya vyang tha, na ki bhaddi bhasha ka prayog kar ke chepa hua cheap cartoon

logic to maine koi diya hi nahi... to hypothetical kaise ho gaya... maine to dono ki leadership mai desh ka kya haal hoga... us scenario ka prediction kiya hai...

or ruhi baat reality of current times ki to is bare mai yahi kehna chahunga... ki karpya gyan na baatein... yahan sabhi gyani hain... or dono ne desh ke liye aaj tak kya kiya hai ye sab ko maalum hai...

Hypothetical logic.

Reality of current times:
Rahul is leader no.2 of a national political party where as Modi is CM of a state with no central responsibility in Delhi, either on Party level or on Govt level

Both have seen best and worst of campaign, Congress won and lost in UP under Rahul and Modi is yet to prove his success outside Gujarat

Rahul is working on ground where as Modi has risen from ground but now engaging in social media PR with cheap tactics

Rahul has a clear future, which until now is assumed by BJPites but Modi's future lies flat with several other PM aspirants in BJP

Modi ka issa kaisa dikhawa hai... "marketting skill" hai... ki Japan, Korea, China, EU or eb US bhi Modi ki tareef kar ruhe hain...

or Modi bhi sari duniya ki aankho mai dhool jhoonk ruha hai... ek tu or ek Digvijay Singh... or 1-2 manas or hain... jinko (under)Ground realities pata hoti hain... thame ho "cheel" ki aankhya aale...

No, that is business economics which is endorsed by profitability of businesses.

Govt of Gujarat has not yet given any document that speaks about benefits given to a lot of companies that have established business which indicates towards use of public money to please private businesses, Indian or foreign.

It is said that the Modi government has not provided any aid to local industry but extended benefits to the tune of Rs 3,300 crore to the Tata company for bringing the Nano car project to Gujarat only for his propaganda, reports, nothing from State govt yet and this is all state money.

Who would not want to go to a state where you get subsidies/tax rebates and a poor labor laws?

I heard that Nitish is doing well in terms of state economy, GDP etc. But I never heard whether he has cut the red tape in government or not. Also other point to notice is Bihar GDP comparing Gujrat GDP.

http://articles.timesofindia.indiat...641_1_bihar-government-tamil-nadu-india-s-gdp

"Economists, however, said that 9% growth by some of the larger states such as Gujarat and Tamil Nadu was credible given that they were growing on a much larger base. In comparison, states such as Bihar and Chhattisgarh had a much lower base. For instance, at 2004-05 prices, economic activity in Tamil Nadu's was estimated at Rs 4.28 lakh crore, the highest among states for which data is available with the Central Statistics Office (CSO), while Bihar's gross state domestic product (GSDP) at 2004-05 prices was estimated at Rs 1.63 lakh crore.

First of all let me say two things(Which Modi said very loud and clear in his recent speech):

1. Government has no business to do a business.

2. Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.

Let me add few more points here:

Without industralisation, it is impossible to create employment. We have witnessed this, how Nehru, Indira and Rajiv have screwed up country by Licence Raj. Liberalisation happenned in 1990 because there was no other option left for government. Anyway coming to the point of industralisation in Gujrat. Let me present few links from The Economist:

1. Gujrat is compared with China's most performing place Guandong.(Gujarat's economy India's Guangdong)

http://www.economist.com/node/18929279

2. Look at the how The Economist compared Surat with Gurgaon(I tell you Gurgaon is a mess. Unplanned, lack of infrastructure, full of corruption etc)

http://www.economist.com/node/21563412?zid=306&ah=1b164dbd43b0cb27ba0d4c3b12a5e227

About Surat:

"A far more encouraging example can be found farther up the coast. Surat, a city in Gujarat of 4.5m people, is a flourishing trading hub that not long ago was a wretched dump like Gorakhpur. In 1994, after a reported (but never confirmed) outbreak of pneumonic plague, it became famous for squalor, gridlock, slums and rotten management. Since then it has been transformed. Effective managers cleaned up. Rubbish was collected and transport improved, streets were swept and public services delivered. Miraculously, the improvements were sustained. Some 96% of residents pay their municipal taxes on time. Manoj Kumar Das, who now runs the city, says that over the past decade the growth in Surat’s population averaged 5% a year, among the fastest of any city in the world. According to his planners, by 2031 it could have 9.3m people, overtaking London."

About Gurgaon (A Ghetto):

"Gurgaon, a business district near Delhi, has plenty of glass towers but falls short on sewerage and power supplies and is only slowly acquiring public transport. Gridlocked Mumbai can appear to be falling to bits, especially in heavy rains"

You can read more about Gurgaon in this article:http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/1652167/Middle-class-ghettos-spreading-in-India

"But in the subterranean of Gurgaon, a catastrophe is about to happen. With over 30,000 illegal wells, the ground-water level is decreasing at an alarming pace, by about one meter each year. Water tables are also contaminated by the infiltration of untreated wastewater stagnating in hidden sight."

Such comparision can carry on if you want between Congress ruled state Haryana and Modi's ruled state Gujrat.

Atish,

I spoke more about growth rates. I am sure you will agree that it is easy to lead an already growing state like Gujarat than a poor state like Bihar but read this:

Bihar beats Gujarat, Maharashtra with 21.9% growth in 11th Plan

I know that growth can not be compared as it depends on size of GDP but I am sure 22% growth in a state which is known for backwardness is even more hard to achieve and the article I have shared looks at 5 year plan, not just YoY.

NEW DELHI: Bihar has been the top performer among the major states in terms of economic growth during the 11th Five Year Plan which ended on March 31, 2012.

According to a Planning Commission report on state finances, only Sikkim and Goa, which are much smaller in size than Bihar, have performed better than the state.
In case of major states, Haryana clocked the GSDP growth rate of 19.5 per cent followed by Rajasthan at 18 per cent, Kerala at 16.9 per cent, Madhya Pradesh 16.8 per cent, Andhra Pradesh at 16.7 per cent and West Bengal at 16.4 per cent.

During the 11th Plan, Gujarat grew at 16 per cent followed by Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh at 15.3 per cent each.

If you look at it, a lot of states are ahead but Bihar stands out for obvious reasons.

Rahul is # 2 in Congress just because Abhishek Bachchan and Tusshar Kapoor are in Bollywood. We all know the reality that Rahul Gandhi was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I agree with you that Modi on the other hand has built himself up.
If I could choose someone for PM candidature, I'd choose Modi over Rahul any given day. Having said that, Modi isn't also my top choice either. (Don't ask me who is then?). He (Rahul) has been flaunted as young blood/youth icon but not enough experience under his belt. Why isn't he holding any portfolio in the cabinet? Too scared of responsibility? criticism ? Or he just wants to be in the background and be a puppeteer like his mother, pulling the strings as and when needed? Regarding clear future, not only Rahul but his grandchildren also have a clear & secure future. Gandhi Nehru ne aisa beej boya tha jiska fal inka khaandaan khaata aaya hai or khaata rahega.

Agreed and to add a bit more- in stead of running himself he is run by the top-core of Congress leadership but all is good until there are no fall-outs like BJP.

I am not sure if both of them are choices even. Both of them are PM candidates declared by media. Modi has a PR machinery that echoes his will to be the PM and Rahul has the Gandhi tag but none of that is a surety of either of them becoming PM candidate. BJP has too many candidates and Congress's move to make MMS PM in last 2 elections has left all anticipating, if something similar in 2014.

Chances are that none of the parties will announce a PM candidate before elections, after elections if Congress comes back to power and if Swamy is to be believed(which I dont) then Rahul will not be eligible to be the PM and if BJP wins Modi will lose-out to NDA, even if he wins in BJP.

Yes there is no doubt about Bihar growth rate. Its much better under Nitish Kumar comparing Lalu. But when you consider growth rate, you also need to consider base of growth. Bottom line is, it is very difficult to grow on larger base. Gujrat is growing on larger base with a very strong growth rate. On contrary, Bihar is growing on smaller base with a growth rate of 13.1 percent(Which is really good). But growing on larger base is a very different story all together.
Therefore, Gujrat growth is credible when you consider these points.

us lawmaker praises modi for 'extraordinary leadership' !!

@desi- bhai tere arsenal to khatam hone ko hai, eib kunsa teer kaadega? ;)

I agree and I did mention this the point in my reply and gave you a counter explanation as well.

To add a bit more- I assume it would be fair to compare Gujarat with Gujarat? Gujarat has grown slowest under modi in last 3 decades.
@desi:

Go through this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_real_GDP_growth_rate_(latest_year))and see list of countries by real GDP growth rate. Libya tops the list by recording a phenominal rate of 121.9 percent.

For USA to grow at such rate is impossible. Similary for Gujrat to grow at 121.9 percent is impossible. Bihar's growth looks good because it is growing on much smaller base comparing Gujrat.

pehle to manne neu samjha de ak...
Congress ka FDI pe bill pass karna... vo bhi paise kha ke...
or US ke ek leader ka Modi ki tareef karna... similar kaiase hai...

In not so plain HINDI... Congressi, amaricans ke talwe rool ruhe the... or ab ek american, Modi ke roolne ki kosish kar ruha hai...

Just because dono US se linked hain....
Galat kaam hoga to galiya padegi...
badhiya kaam hoga to tareef milegi...
simple si baat hai...
isme "jit ke vichar" kahan se aa gaye...
