Tantnagar (तांतनगर) is a town and tahsil in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand State, India.

Location

Tantnagar is a village lies 15 kms east from Chaibasa, between Kokocho and Chitimiti villages. The village is well connected by a wide tar road from Chaibasa and The road from Chaibasa bifurcates here one leading eastward towards Khatbari and another towards right and southwards to Bharbharia.

History

It has a govt middle school and a girls school. The village has a Thursday weekly market. The villagers sell their products- paddy , rice, pulses, fresh vegetables , goats, hens etc. Ready made garments and clothes are marketed by merchants from Chaibasa. The market is also meeting point for young tribal lovers.Young boys and girls are free to talk and gossip and also can choose their future partners in case they feel compatible. This is a changing village.[1]
