Goman

Goman (गोमान्) or Gomanta (गोमन्त) was name of Raivataka Mountan where 18 tribes of Yadavas settled after they fled from Mathura out of fear of Jarasandha, the king of Magadha.[1]

गोमान् पर्वत
विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[3] ने लेख किया है ...गोमान् पर्वत (AS, p.303): रैवतक पर्वत का एक नाम जिसके क्रोड में द्वारका बसी हुई थी. मगध राज जरासंध के आक्रमण से बचने के लिए श्री कृष्ण मथुरा से द्वारका चले गए थे. उन्होंने रैवतक पर्वत पर अपनी नई नगरी को बसाया था. (देखें महा.सभा.14). रेवतक का ही एक नाम गोमान् भी था. 'एवं वयं जरासंधाद भितः कृतकिल्बिषाः, सामर्थ्यवन्तः संबन्धाद गोमन्तं समुपाश्रिताः' --महा.सभा. 14,53

Gomanta (गोमन्त) (Mountain) Mahabharata (II.13.53)
Sabha Parva, Mahabharata/Book II Chapter 13 mentions the tribes who fled out of fear of Jarasandha. Gomanta (गोमन्त) (Mountain) is mentioned in Mahabharata (II.13.53) [4] ....Thus, O king, though possessed of strength and energy, yet from the oppressions of Jarasandha we have been obliged to repair to the mountains of Gomanta, measuring three Yojanas in length.
