Kamal (कमल)/ Kanwal (कंवल)[1] Kanwal (कंवाल) [2]is a gotra of Jats.[3][4] Kamal clan is found in Afghanistan.[5]
Origin
They are descendants of Nagavanshi king named Kambala (कंवल). [6]

History
H. W. Bellew writes that Kamal is the name of one of the twenty-four principal tribes into which the Turk nation is divided. Kamal is in two divisions — Misharan, or "Seniors", and Kisharan, or "Juniors." [8]
Adi Parva, Mahabharata/Mahabharata Book I Chapter 35 mentions the name of Kambala in the list of chief Nagas. [9]
