Luhach (लुहाच) is gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and utrakhand.It is same as Lohach. They were supporters of Chauhan Confederacy.
Origin
Luhach gotra origin was from ABUGARGH RAJASTAN AND FROM THEY MIGRATED to chitorgragh.
Variants
History
There are a few villages of the Luhach in Hapur district. The Luhach ancestors migrated from Nandha village in Charkhi Dadri (present day Haryana). It would be interesting to trace the why and how of this migration in the early 1700s. Harsh Singh Lohit has written family history from 1775 by when the small Luhach community was well settled in agriculture, so the migration must have taken place sometime before that.[1]
There must be about 750 Luhach in Bharangpur village today, and 1,500 in Nali Husainpur the original village of Luhach just a kilometre away. Three other villages with Luhach populations in our vicinity (5-7 kilometres) are Bhainsakhur, Sehra (near Kuchesar) and Ugrasain Nangla (near Bhawan Bahadur Nagar). [2]
Sub divisions of Chauhan
Bhim Singh Dahiya[3] provides us list of Jat clans who were supporters of the Chauhan when they gained political ascendancy. The Lohach clan supported the ascendant clan Chauhan and become part of a political confederacy.[4]

- Jai Pal Singh Luhach (Lohit) : Padma Shri Dr. Jai Pal Singh (13 May 1930 – 24 September 1997) was a physician and educator.
- Harsh Singh Lohit: Son of Dr Jai Pal Singh Luhach (13 May 1930 – 24 September 1997). He spent 25 years in the information technology industry after an MBA in the USA in 1987. His last professional career move was as a founder of a software company that was bought by the worlds largest BPO company in 2011. He has since 2011 gone back to the traditional occupation of farming.
