Moth

Moth (मोठ) is a village in Narnaund tahsil of Hisar district in Haryana. Before Partition, this was inhabited by Muslim Rangars, but after Partition, Jats from nearby villages settled here.

Today, this village is also known bythe name Moth Rangran.

भक्त फूल सिंह द्वारा हरिजन उद्धार

जिला हिसार के मोठ नामक स्थान के चमार बंधुओ ने कुआं बनवाना आरम्भ किया । मुसलमानों ने इसका विरोध किया । मोठ के चमार बंधु निराश होकर भक्त फूल सिंह जी के पास आये और अपनी कष्ट भरी गाथा सुनाई । भक्त जी ने उन्हें कुआं बनवाने का आश्वासन दिया और 1 सितबर 1940 को मोठ पहुँच गए । उन्होंने लगातार तीन दिनों तक गाँव के मुसलमानों को समझाया । मुसलमानों पर उनकी बातों का कुछ भी प्रभाव नहीं पडा । भक्त जी ने आमरण अनशन शुरू कर दिया और कहा "कुआं बनने पर ही अन्नग्रहण करूँगा, अन्यथा यहीं प्राण त्याग दूंगा ।" मुसलमानों ने भक्त जी को तीन चार दिन बाद उठा कर जंगल में फेंक दिया । भक्त जी बच गए और पुनः 23 दिन के उपवास के बाद उन्हें अपने कार्य में सफलता मिल गई । कुआं बना और चमार बंधुओं की पानी की समस्या हल हो गई ।

विश्व वंद्य महात्मा गांधी जी ने उपरोक्त घटना के विषय में जब सूना तो बहुत प्रसन्न हुए और भक्त जी से मिलने की इच्छा प्रकट की । भक्त जी दिल्ली आये और बापू से लगभग डेढ़ घंटे तक वार्तालाप चला । बापू ने भक्त जी से कहा, "आप आर्यसमाज को छोड़कर मेरे कार्यक्रम के अनुसार कार्य कीजिये । समय-समय पर मैं आपको यथाशक्ति मदद देता रहूँगा , इससे आप देश की अधिक सेवा कर सकेंगे ।" भक्त जी ने निश्छल भाव से कहा -" महात्मा जी मैं आपकी सब आज्ञाओं को मानने को तैयार हूँ परन्तु आर्यसमाज को नहीं छोड़ सकता क्योंकि ऋषि दयानंद और आर्यसमाज तो मेरे रोम रोम में राम चुके हैं ।"

Notable persons

• Chaudhary Brahmanand -Because this village was a part of the jagir purchased by Seth Chhaju Ram, his other jagir Sheikhpura where Seth ji had built a luxurious mansion which at that time was the head office of Seth Chhaju Ram ji in Haryana. There Seth ji established his Choudhary Brahmanand was appointed as Mukhtyare Aam to look after all the work of his estate and collect the money.
• Chaudhary Balbir Singh Lamba - He was the grandson of Seth Chhaju Ram; He was very eloquent and had an attractive oratory. He was addressed as Chaudhary in all the villages and villages. Chaudhary Saheb was the Sarpanch (head) of Moth Rangdan for most of his life and was the Vice Chairman of District Council Hisar for a long time. And later was elected chairman. Chaudhary Saheb was a very good hard worker and visionary leader of the society.
• Chaudhary Suresh Lamba - He was the great grandson of Seth Chhaju Ram and the eldest son of Chaudhary Balbir Singh Lamba. He carried forward the legacy of Chaudhary Balbir Singh Lamba very well and remained the Sarpanch (head) of the village for a long time. He was a very progressive farmer. He had no equal in social service and interaction with people. His son Rajesh Lamba is carrying forward his legacy very well.
