History

Musa is also an old tribe, and anciently held the Indus valley about the modern Lower Derajat and Upper Sind. Their chief, Musikanus of the Greeks and Muse Ka = "Chief of the Musa," of the Indians, having been excited by the Brahmans says Arrian, to rebel against Alexandeb, was reduced, and along with many Brahmans crucified as an exemplary punishment. The Musa are now found widely distributed along the Indian border and Suleman range, as clans and sections of several of the larger Afghan tribes. [2]

Musa also as the Mysoi of Herodotus in the second satrapy ; they may include Musai, Israelites of the Mosaic religion.[3]

Rajatarangini[4] tells us that Lava was succeeded by his son Kusheshaya, who was a powerful prince. He bestowed the village of Kuruhara on Brahmanas. His son Khagendra, who succeeded him, was a valorous and patient king. He destroyed many of the Nagas, who were his enemies. He founded the villages of Khagikhuna and Musa.
