Sajjan Kumar
Sajjan Kumar Mahlavat (Birth: 23-9-1945) son of Chaudhary Raghunath Singh Mahlavat and Mee Kaur from village Jatwada Delhi in Daryaganj Old Delhi. He has been a strong Jat leader from Delhi. He is three-time Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Outer Delhi. Political career started from 1977 as Municipal Councillor of Delhi by INC. His brother Ramesh Kumar Mahalawat was MLA Shahabad Daulatpur Delhi 1998 and MP South Delhi 2009.
Jat leader
There was a time when Sajjan Kumar was on of the strongest Jat leader of India and Congress. He was all set to be Chief Minister of Delhi but it never happened. Twice his name was announced for Union Ministership and 5 times his Lok Sabha ticket was canceled but he still managed to get ticket 4 times. Many times he was offered the Rajya Sabha seat but he refused because of his fake case. Because of this fake case even his family members have suffered politically, even his political party congress has side lined his family, a political party where Sajjan Kumar sacrificed his own life so that real culprit of the party will not be harmed.
False 1984 case
Due to growing popularity of Sajjan Kumar among people of Delhi, Jats of Delhi as well as other Jats everywhere. BJP-RSS Refugee leaders like Vijay Kumar Malhotra and Madan Lal Khurana tried to defame one of the strongest Jat leader Sajjan Kumar in 1984 riot case. Sajjan Kumar use to win from Outer Delhi Lok Sabha which was India's biggest Lok Sabha constituency till 2009 before its trifurcation to South Delhi Lok Sabha, West Delhi Lok Sabha and North West Delhi Lok Sabha. Later Sajjan's brother Ramesh won from South Delhi in 2009.
