Singhasan

Singhasan (सिंहासन) or Sinhasan (सिंहासन), near Piprali, is an ancient historical village in Sikar tehsil of Sikar district in Rajasthan. Its ancient name, mentioned in Harsha Inscription 961 AD (L-34), was Simhapraushtha (सिंहप्रौष्ठ).

Location

It is situated in the east of Sikar town. Some neighbouring villages are - Laxman Ka Bas, Bhadwasi & Hardayalpura

Population

  • At the time of Census-2001, the population of this village was 3,950.
  • As per Census-2011 statistics, Singhasan village has the total population of 4756 (of which 2424 are males while 2332 are females).[1]

History

The Harshagiri inscription of 961 AD tells us names of villages which were donated by nearby Chauhan rulers or chieftains from their controlled area to the temple of Harshadeva. Sinhaprosthā donated by Sinha-raja has been identified as - Singhasan.

सन 1935 में सीकर ठिकानेदारों द्वारा जनता पर भारी अत्याचार किये थे. उसी दौरान सिंहासन गाँव में जाटों ने यज्ञ किया था. कुपित होकर राजपूतों को सिंहासन गाँव से बाहर निकाल दिया था. यह राजपूत बहुल गाँव था. [2]
