Dr.Yudhbir Singh Khyalia (Born : 25th October 1954) is an IAS officer of 1997 Haryana Cadre. Currently he is DC Hisar, Haryana. He is one among rare Jats who have made their mark at state,national and international level in their field
Birth and Childhood
He was born in village Jhanwari of Distt. Bhiwani , Haryana.
Education
Dr Yudhbir Singh Khyalia did his schooling from the village itself and graduation from Government College, Hisar. He did Post Graduation in English from MDU, Rohtak & Public Administration from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
He has been conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work on the topic “Management of Safe Blood Transfusion” by Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
Marriage
Dr.Yudhbir Singh Khyalia is married with one son. His wife is music lecturer in college. His son is postgraduate in Law and practising in Haryana High Court, Chandigarh.
Career
His career began with teaching prior to his joining Civil Services in 1984. He has headed as many as 9 sub divisions as SDM and has also been the Registrar of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra during 2005-06. Today, he is ranked among the best administrators not only in the state of Haryana but in the country. He nowadays is DC Hisar where he is popular among public for his unique style of administration. He is so dedicated to public service that even on holidays he is being seen in office discussing, solving public problems. Most salient feature of his working style is his easy accessibility and availability to any common person of his working area. It makes him dear to every common man.
Achievements & Awards
His name was listed in Limca Book of Records, 1998 edition, page 157 for having organized Rakt Daan Jaagran Mela which is a record for Highest Blood Collection in a single camp.
He has made his mark not only at national but at the international level also. Having presented a paper on Blood Donation Awareness in Beijing, China in 2004, he has also participated in 9 international conferences on Blood Transfusion Services.
It is his efforts that Sirsa District has already achieved 100% voluntary blood donation and he is now pursuing to achieve the same in the State of Haryana & then the whole nation.
He has organized more than 400 Blood Donation Camps, mostly in rural areas and has already motivated more than one lac volunteers to donate blood. Not only this, the complete details of volunteers with photographs are being uploaded in real time to bravoblooddonor.org.
Recently, he has been elected as President, Indian Society of Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology (ISBTI) India.
A firm believer in perfection, Dr. Yudhbir Singh makes the best of everything. The Total Literacy Campaign of National Literacy Mission headed by him in Panchkula District between 1997-99 was declared the best campaign in the country.
Total Sanitation Campaign and Self Help Groups are among the other major areas where he has been deeply involved in community services.
He was the man behind making Sirsa District the first No Open Defecation District in the country. This fact is recorded in 20th edition of Limca Book of Recordspage 206. This also begged him People of the Year award for his extra ordinary skill in the field of Social Services.He was a single Jat among 20 people who have selected for People of the year 2009 award. He has made Jats proud with this award.
