Rakesh Nehra From village Balsamand, Nagaur district of Rajasthan became martyr of Naxalism on 10 March 2016 at Kanker in Chhattisgarh. He was in BSF.

Martyr Rakesh Nehra's last rites performed

Rakesh Nehra, who achieved martyrdom in village Kanker in Chhattisgarh district during an ambush with naxalites on Thursday night dated 10 March 2016, was consigned to flames at his ancestral village Balsamand near Ladnu in Nagaur district with full respects on Monday dated 14 March 2016. Government, police and BSF officials were present on the occasion along with the family members and villagers.

His body landed at Jodhpur civil airport on Monday morning and was taken to his village by road, where BSF officials from Rajasthan Frontier headquarters remained present.


Nehra is survived by wife and two sons, one of whom is seven years old while other is barely two-and-a-half years. He was inducted in the BSF five years back and was currently posted at Raipur after having served in JK and Punjab.


He had come to his village early this month to attend his cousin brother's wedding ceremony and had left to resume his duty only on March 4.


"He would always say that he would become like his uncle and cousin and would join the army for sure to serve the country," his father said.

नक्सली मुठभेड़ में नागौर के जवान राकेश नेहरा शहीद

कांकेर के बेचाघाट में नक्सलियों से हुई मुठभेड़ के दौरान बीएसएफ के दो जवान शहीद हो गए, जबकि 6 जवान घायल हो गए। शहीद हुए जवानों में एक जाबांज राकेश नेहरा नागौर के बालसमंद गांव का है।

जम्मू के चपरियाल निवासी विजय कुमार (28) भी शहीद हुए। जानकारी अनुसार शहीद राकेश की पार्थिव देह रविवार शाम तक बीएसएफ हैड क्वार्टर जोधपुर लाई जाएगी। इसके बाद सड़क मार्ग से उनके पैतृक गांव बालसमंद लाई जाएगी। सूचना मिली थी कि बेचाघाट में बड़ी संख्या में महाराष्ट्र के गट्टा दलम के नक्सली पहुंचे हैं। रात करीब 2 बजे पुलिस और बीएसएफ की 122 बटालियन के जवानों का दल रवाना हुआ। छोटेबेठिया से लगभग डेढ़ किमी आगे बेचाघाट के पास घात लगाए बैठे नक्सलियों ने जवानों पर फायरिंग कर दी। जवानों ने भी जवाबी फायरिंग की।
