As you all would know, Virender Sehvag has been removed from Vice Captaincy post. I was wanting to get your views on that. Is it because of poor form or as reflected by the media cos of his attitude. Also from here Sehvag just has two options, bounce back or will they show him the door?

No one should take his place for granted in the team.He is there to score runs and not for cultivating the fields. He failed and failed on all counts.I will not be surprised if he is thrown out and not there in World cup 11.Nothing is right with this chap on this day.

but sir sehwag is not performing from very long time he has crossed all time limits aur abhi unkee age hi kya (27) hai he shd be at fire this time jab lara 34-35 ka hokar century thok sakta hai to wo kyun nahi and indian cricket has given him enough time to come on the track bec. we hv lot of faith on him n cricket is treated as religion not as game all cricketer shd respect the feeling of countrymen and above all they r representing a nation it is not something personal they will lose n put their heads down n over it puts country's head down so they shd work hard n hard n hard rather than doing modelling n advetisement so now the situation for sehwag is do or die either proof or quit not only for sehwag but more than half of the members of the team ....

Whoever doesnt play well should be kicked out.Be it Sachin, Sehwag or whoever and even Chappell.Hell wouldnt break loose if Sachin Sehwag are out of squad.
Anyway good to see Ganguly in practice nets again.Hopefully, he will hit a hundred or more on his comeback:)

Biased Opinion

Dear Netrapal Singh Ji,

As I have said earlier, that you seem to bias your opinion on the basis of caste and that is why you are preturbed on Sehwag being stripped of his post and Ashish Nehra sitting outside. The facts are little different.

Let us take the case of Nehra itself. He has been injured more time than he has actually played. No doubt he is an excellent bowler, but if a person is not fit, he probably can't make it to the team. Look at Kapil Dev, he was as good a fast bowler as any one in the business today. 16 years and no injury. While we have 4 fast bowlers playing today, in Kapil's time it used to be only two or three maximum. The reason Kapil remained injury free, is that he took his profession seriously. He used to keep himself fit off season and entered the field after proper warming up. More often than not the injuries take place when an athlete starts bowling or playing without warming up. It all needs discipline.

Now the case of Sehwag. He definitely needed a jolt. Hopefully he performs now. All these players are concentrating more on advertising rather than their game. Since enough money is flowing from the Advertising, who cares about the game in any case.

I think who ever does not perform, needs to be shown door, be it Sehwag, Tendulkar or for that matter any one else.

I thought Venserkar wanted Ganguly back in the team, thats why he is in. And i dont think tendulkar would want captaincy again. On the lighter side Sehvag has been out of from after his marriage :-)

sir jee mai aap se poori tara sahmat hoo kee sehwag ke bahar karna chahiye
lekin ooska samay kaha hai jab karna chahiye tha tab kiya nahi ab agar
oose bahar karte ho to ooska vikalp kaha hai tendulkar bhee flap hai
oppener batsman kaha hai kay gautam gambheer par vishwash kar sakte hai?
wo jaisa bhee hai world cup se pahale oose bahar nikalna murkhta hai.
fir part time bollar bhee hai wo. agar sehwag hai to aap 4 bollar or 6 batsman
le kar khel sakte hai hai hamari batting flop chal rahee hai isliye 5 bollar
ke bajay 6 bats man le kar khele to jyada behtar rahega..........................

sorry sir jee mera vote ab hee sehwage ke saath hai kyo kee mujhe aaj
bhee ooseese ummeed hai.

Mr.Netrapal he doesnt deserve to be in the team after his latest century on the very first ball. He needs to improve his game and behaviour.
Ganguly and Pathan rescued the team otherwise it would have been another nightmare.

Is Ganguly a Motivating Factor

Dear Members,
I think only thing that has changed with the team in SA is arrival of Saurav Ganguly. While the top order has once again failed, Ganguly's partnership with Pathan and then the stunning performance of the pace bowlers, gives an indication of the motivating factor that Ganguly brings with him. If that be so, then the question needs to be analyzed, as to why did in first place he left?

I think having spent some time in wilderness with the fear of never coming back to the team, brought in him the fighing spirit that this man has, and replaced probably the arrogance that came to him with success. Ganguly today looks much fitter and committed. Thus the jolt to him did do a lot of good I guess.

There is no doubt that among the current breed of players, probably he is more aggressive a leader than to say Dravid, or Tendulkar. I would not comment on Sehwag's leadership as the guy has a lots of problem to solve for himself. Considering the type of game he playes, he should make an aggressive Captain, but then some time it is not the case. We have seen Tendulkar the batsman and Captain.

Let us watch the performance in post Ganguly inclusion. I hope more and more players start believing in themselves and take the job seriously.

I have always felt that Ganguly has the killer instinct and wants to win at any cost and he instilled the same feelings in other players..Tendulkar has always seemed to be an individual player..he has been made God by media..he was pretty good when he was young but later on his track record has always been like this .. 2 runs, 1 run, duck, 110, 20, 5 runs, 34 runs, duck, 110..he doesnt seem to be confident enough for Sixes anymore

Ganguly probaby made some enemies within the team because of his attitude..if he becomes more complacent..he would still be the best Captain for India

As for Sehwag, he has started taking things very lightly and doesnt want to struggle a lot with bat..probably he thinks he has earned enough in advertising.

Dravid - he just knows that he has to be in the team..so has just one aim ..just to be in the crease no matter if has to play 100 balls to score 20 runs..

My analysis Guys..no personal reasons

Prediction?

Dear Members.

Prediction in Cricket is nothing but being foolhardy. Considering the current form of the players, my option to go in the first test would be as under:

Sehwag (would have preferred Gautam Gambhir if he had got at least one match practice) anothe option could be to use Dinesh Karthik.
VVS Laxman
Rahul Dravid
Saurav Ganguly
Sachin Tendulkar
Irfan Pathan
M.S. Dhoni
Anil Kumble
Zaheer Khan
VRV Singh
Sreesanth (he is a good bowler but very unpredictable)

One thing we have seen that the left handers have done a little better on this tour so far. Therefore there may be a case to play Gambhir if not in this test but subsequently. Wasim Zafar certainly is in a very poor form.

sir jee team to achee chuni hai aapne kahi change kee koi gunjaish hee nahi
hai par dekhe inkaa performance kya rahta hai test match me. aasha karni
chahiye kee team acha perform kare.............

Those not performing well should be taken out of the team . There are lot of players in line. Whether it is Sachin , Shewag or Ganguly nobody should take his position permanent in the team. It is the performance and not a government job . Its all about competition for the best.

Thanks

Vijay

One More Failure

Dear Members,

It was once again disappointing to see both Sehwag and Jaffer failing. This probably may be the last time that one of these two would be playing in the current series. I feel considering the form that Irfan Pathan and Dinesh Karthik had shown ou the tour as compared to Jaffer and Sehwag, it would have been a good idea to drop one of these and give chance to these young players.

This is also a great opportunity for Gautam Gambhir, to show is talent and determination to get back into team. Whoever does well on this tour is sure to have a flight to WI in March to play in World Cup.

hi....

hello jatlanders,
as far as removal of Virender Sehwag from VC is concerned,it is all about the peformance consistancy of the player.
The resposiblity of VC in any of the sports team is to lead from the front and set an example before rest of the team. Moreover VC need to motivate other chaps,as he being taking the dual responsiblity of leading the team and playing as an individual player.
and our Viru was cotinuesly lacking everywhere so..........
in this regard no place can be given to any caste priroties or whatever.
this is just my opinion in this regard!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rahul dravid ke bare me kya ray hai wo bhee flop chal raha hai ooskee jagah
captain kiskoo bana chahoge?. Sachin or Ganguly jo 10 months team se bahar tha. Ya koi or. kal ko shehwag fir dubara perform kare to laxaman se
VC cheen kar Shehwag ko vapas de deni chahiye?.

netra..

what is criteria of performance

Plaers ke performance kya tha kya hai or kya hona chahiye. Ye kai bato par
nirbhar karta hai. Rahul Dravid, Laxman, Sachin, Ganguly ek clasical player hai or oon par vishwas kiya ja sakta hai ke wo half century or century banaye.

Leking Shehwag shuru se hee ek pitchhitter tha ooska kaam hai kam bol
jyada ran jaisa oosne 2nd paree me kiya 29 ball 33 run yahee ooskaa
kam hai. Lekin ham usse century or hal centry kee umeed kare to ye
hamari galtee hai or yahee vajah ooske flot hone kee hai.
