God's Existence ???

Most people believe in God because they also believe that life is sacred and it has a purpose....... There is also a certain level of arrogance that goes into this kind of thinking......... Many think that we humans are so evolved that there has to be a higher power that created us and everything around us - no there is'nt! The earth is 4.5 billion years old....... we have walked the earth for merely 150,000 years. Life evolved on earth by a series of accidents which occured under life favoring circumstaces.
We are nothing but a burden on earth ........ and will be wiped out when the next big asteroid hits or global warming (long shot)......... the earth will live on for billions of years into the future.
So your life is as sacred as that chicken you might have for dinner.
Believe in God if you want to - but don't pray because nobody is listening............ but that would defeat the reason for believeing in God in the first place...no?
Hinduism and buddhism are less absurd than monotheistic religions like Judeo-Christian religions and Islam because they keep things abstract.

see, 44 replies later, this thread itself shows that 'God' is defined differently by every individual.
When 20 people on this thread have all defined God differently then what will happen when 6.5 billion people of this world try to define him.
In not one instance does God define himself.
When we get too involved in specific instances, those instances become our completeness. For some 'Ram' is a completeness, for some 'allah' and for some 'yesu' - the list is too long.
There is a completeness which encompasses all these and everything else too. Personally, i would strive for that.
Being a good human being is a personal choice. I want to be a good person but not out of a sense of charity for which my God will reward me later. Rather because being good appeals to me more and makes me feel good, because thats what i want to be. Goodness has an appeal.
There is goodness and badness (ram and ravan) in everyone. When we interact with the goodness/Ram the Ram speaks, when we interact wth the badness/Ravan, the Ravan speks.

Actually sometimes i feel hell wouldnt be a bad option if we get a bunch of good buddies there. Imagine all the fun we could have.
Yamraj also possibly is a Jat as he keeps a buffaloe. Most Jats find life pretty meaningless unless they have a buffaloe tied in the backyard
The famous haryanvi poet 'Jemni haryanavi' has written 2 lines which go something like
"Jo bhi mare swarg ko jaae, nark banaya kisliye ye humko dev bataaen

Sorry for going a lil far, but can not stop myself from ventilating my ire on kawariyans. in the name of god they impede traffic and i hope all the girls out here will agree with me that they are the biggest eve teasers on roads while fetching kawars. i hate such hypocrisy in the name of religion. wish there was no religion and no such gods and such gods' followers

can't be proved by any physical method or scientific way till date.
Its our Faith on supernatural power, spirituality and religion....

Chahal saahib agar koi pyaas se bas marne hi waala ho to wo ye nhi dekhega ki paani ka molicular combination kya hai(H2O) wo iski history mein nahi jayega ki dharti pai paani aaya kyukar etc. etc. wo bas ek ghoont mein hi saara samandar peene ki sochega. agar osh ke chele lar rahein hain to isse kahin saabit nahi hota ki osho kanhi se bhi galat hai. aap bas ek baar dhyan par OSHO ka ek lecture suno phir dekhna osh ke diwane ho jaoge.
