Jat Charity - Donation for kids

I want to donate some amount for education of young children in India. Could someone please let me know a good charity not-for-profit organization that is working towards this cause in villages of Haryana or North India.

On a broader topic, do we have any jat organization in US that helps kids in India? If not, can we create a US chapter for some charity in India where we can help from here? Just a thought.

Will appreciate some contact info for donation and how to make a donation form here.

Jan Jagriti, based in Barhana Haryana, contact Navin Guliya, Shailender Tokas, Ramesh Lakra, Donations from US can be made through NAJC to get tax benefits.

NAJC(North american Jat Charity) based in NJ, contact Mr. Ram Arya from this site.

I contacted Mr.Arya for the donation. Good to know that Jatland has members working towards the cause. I will be more than happy to get involved in any role.

Its a good thought that you took the i nitiative to make some donation for the good cause. It feels good that there are people in our community who dont forget their duties.

I do believe there are more people like me and Dharmender who wanted to do our little bit but don't know about programmes like Jan Jagriti. We need to advertise it in community forums and groups like Jatland so more people would be aware of JJ. I willl send an email to BAJA group (Bay Area Jat Association) in California to let them know about JJ.

Unity of efforts is mandatory for success. We Jats need to understand it most. We tend to look in different directions soon.
Secondly, we tend to put in lots of ifs and buts. Any effort to grow needs full, unwavering support. Being too skeptical plays spoilsport.

Naveen isko thoda eleborate karo? Also spell out the concrete social work performed by the organization till date and the results achieved.That will motivate more people to join hands.People have the right to put ifs and buts and we should be open to satisfy their quest.Why feel bad about it.Take it in a supportive manner.It is not important that all should think in a singular way...infact diverse thoughts make better presentation of things.Cheers!

As for the ifs and buts, i think we need to see how a sikh organisation would work and how a jat organisation would work. A jat organisation has to spend all its time on the internal strife and differeces.

When a small sapling is planted, it needs water, maybe a supporting stick, good sunshine and it will grow into a strong tree. But if in the begining, its dry and strong wind and scorching sun, then it is bound to burn down.

ifs and buts are the easiest things to throw in. i would request that people throw in some resources and efforts.

Not getting the point still.There is a difference between a sapling and this kinda organization navin.When i wish to donate something,i have the reasons to ask myself as to.... WHY AM I DOING IT,IS THE MONEY I AM DONATING IS BEING UTILIZED THE WAY I WISHED IT TO BE UTILIZED,AND OFCOURSE IS THE VERY PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION BEING REALIZED?These are the commomn questions which crop in the minds of people and we should be ready to answer them in a most appropriate manner and should not appear to be in a hurry and impatient about the whole concept.People will be more than happy to contribute maximum[even beyond their capacity] provided they get convinced on the above aspects.When i said that ACHIEVEMENT of the organization since its inception needs to be told IN A FEW WORDS,i wanted you to do that.Thread in focus is known to people and has beem read often.


Let me tell you Navin that there is no dearth of Good jats provided there is sincerity of purpose and tons of patience to put up a selfless face through our deeds else it is ONE OF THOSE THINGS.Let us sit down some day and RE-WRITE the whole chapter again and let people give their suggestions.Based on the broader suggestions,let us make a STANDARD OPERATINGH PROCEEDURE[no deviation from that ever once adopted].I am 100% sure that people are not convinced yet about our ability and credentials.Let them take their time and meanwhile let us put our head down and do something concrete on ground in a most selfless manner.My best wishes are with the organization but i myself have not been able to muster that courage to take a proper dip so far.We have a long way to go really.our shortfalls must be discussed and highlighted so that we can improve our standards and can generate an easy and volunteer acceptability from masses.Let us be ready for a secrutiny at each stage.....? God speed!LET THE BEST COME OUT ULTIMATELY.

1. what can be more success than the fact that every penny has been utilised for providing some educative facility to village children.
Not a penny has been spent on setting up offices or infrastructure.
2. There are Jat Sabha buildings in every city worth crores but not a penny reaches the village.
3. a) Bhai Ramesh has seen me nearly faint out of heat stroke in village. There has been innumerable days i have sat there teaching the kids pouring water over my head to keep my temperature down (as my body doesnt work). b) Ramesh despite being in sevice has always been there. c) Sunita has been taking classes d) Vikas has been going by bike from delhi to take classes e) Jitender has been handling the website, arranging xanxa visit. There has been so many people working without having a single penny as salary. if that is not sincerity nothing can be.
4. since the begining have i or others associated with JJ prevented anyone from getting involved, have we prevented anyone from discussing, giving inputs, taking on responsibility. No, we have never stopped anyone.
5. Out of my 950 posts on jatland 500 have been only to discuss JJ and social work.
I dont think we need to re-invent the wheel or wipe the blackboard clean. We can proceed from where we are.

i feel, dreams like JJ need contribution of efforts and resources more than ideas and thoughts.
everyone should jump in and shovel a little, we can achieve a lot.

This is known to everybody on JATLAND Dev Bhai how sincere Navin is towards the JANJAGRITI and uplifting the status of rural kids,
and rest of the members are also trying there best to help the kids in their own best way,


I think we cannot question his sincereity over here,

Manisha,thats where we are different indviduals.I have not questioned his sincereity.What i said has logic and substanc.Let us not que up for the hack of it.Have faith in me and my sincereity also.I don't follow things on the basis of here say because i am a realist.I admire Navin and his spirits but that is a different matter all together.I loath Hero worshiping for sure.Surprisingly you found no logic in what i said...strange bebey...very strange!

There are many short comings bhai....Not from your side but the way it is percieved and is working.I will be the first person to contribute maximum in terms of any kind of support to your brain child the day i feel things have moved in that direction.I will send you my obsevations and suggestions in detail.Meanwhile keep doing your best which you and Khushi had been doing.Let us not be emotional about things....Practical...YES!

we have always looked for your blessing and guidance and of all senior and respected members of jatland.
JJ cannot be reffered to as 'my' brainchild, whatever has been decided has been discussed in the threads. inputs and involvements have always been invited on JJ.
in fact, in my recent mails to nitin bhai i have mentioned that maybe i am not competent enough to manage organisational part. i am more qualified to teach children only something i ve been doing for 12 years now.
JJ has always been open and is.

Another factor comes when people discuss village. Well, we ve always said that we could add more villages provided we have resources to do so. And Barhana is not my village. My village is Kheri Jet and people there always complain that why i dont work there but then we have to start from somewhere.

Lastly JJ's success can be seen in the village. Children not going to any school even have started speaking and reading english and hindi. Children come and spend creative time at JJ reading and learning instead of whiling time in the sreets.

if we wish to expand jj's experience to other villages we need more resources and more volunteers.

i and all jj members request you to take on jj

My dear Navin, on the very outset let me tell you that JJ is your brain child and it will remain so ever.....That is a truth and no discussion is possible on that.Secondly i feel honoured when you asked me to take over Jj...thanks brother but frankly i am not in a position to take on such a big responsibility when i do not have that kind of quality time at my disposal being tied up in so many worldly things.The day i have done my material things,i will take on such venture and invest my total quality time and energies in a totaly selfless manner but then i can't predict that day as life has its strange ways.If i can not be on ground 24 into 7,i will not be able to do justice to tht job.So kindly carry on regardless of things.I will give my mind shortly towards improving JJ.Thanks bhai.
