Are you kidding? Please donot randomly edit posts.

I donot own this site - so ultimately its upto the owner to decide what procedure he/she want to follow.

In any case, here is my suggestion - Please publish a list of words that are unacceptable on this site. Let there be a vote on it and then decide. That would be fair. If people donot like the level of censorship they will be free to leave the site. Please follow a proper procedure. Donot use your personal values as a benchmark to do it. People on this site have different personal values - you cannot make all of them toe your line.

I personally know a lot of members who have stopped posting on this site because of this problem of frivolous and random censorship by you. It undermines the credibility an appeal of the forum. Lot of important issues come up for discussion here and lot of people form their opinion based on that. Language is the only way of expressing how strongly one might feel about an issue. Please donot dilute the overall discussion by random censorship.

If you are censoring because of personal reasons (because I had a spat with you earlier also on the same subject - I think it was discussed that you kid visits this site - so you have an incentive to censor more than usual), I believe it is very unfair and you should give up your editorial responsibility.

Please explain why you censored my post.

The censored word was haramzadgi.

Ironically,the post you censored is on this thread - http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21859 - REcipe for killing internet in India. I guess we donot need the government to do it - people like you are doing it.

Bhai SID, you really writes well. The motto and content is really informative and good enthusiatic posts at times. Bus mein apna vichar dyun hun dont know am also right or not :)

"If they have weight in their balls or if they have balls" aise aise visheshan istemal karke kya hum post ko jyada kargar bana sakte hein? Bhai nue to slang use karan ne to desi mein bhi kahega koe bhai .... "je teri ...... mein ...... ho te" will that also be ok?

I am not in any mood to indulge in any kind of controversy, please take all this in light manner and really you have brought one nice topic to discuss for the betterment of jatland. Yes there should be a healthy debate on this. So that no member in future got irritated and frustrated by the mods in future.

So we can start with your views only. Where should be that laxman rekha drawn of words or language here?

in a different context as of siddharth's, i find one thing really disgusting that none of the mods take stand on such debates...

merely saying 'you are wrong' is not a convincing thing...if you gotta defense your acts. and if you can't defend you act, stop acting arbitrary

even kids in school are asked questions like this is this, how do you think of it, and why...

please act sensible...learn to respond and take your stand...it's no china that you will curb such minimal rights

(PS: i am not advocating siddharth by any means...this is in context of my experience gathered from many instances, and lesser objectionable as of siddharth's)
 
har issue ke kai angles hote hai .. need to think from every point of view..

agar koi baat sidhe sidhe shabdo maie bi kehi ja sakti hai to aise words jo shyed thode se decent na lage use karne se avoid bi kiya ja sakta hai... kyoki yeh to hai nai ki un words ka use na karne se post ka msg hi ulta hojyaga...baat to baat hi rehegi na...

pher bi sabi ki jaise icha jo chahe likhe:)... mujhe to koi problem bi nai hai :)

Jiternder bhai, yeh ball bearing ki baat kade kahi ho - mere ko to yaad nahi:)
Anyway, I personally have no problem with what language anybody uses. I donot take offense to words. I strongly believe in the freedom of speech and expression and dislike any kind of physical/mob violence which mainly results from suppression of thoughts and lack of communication. I also dislike lazy censorship like above (school masterni style).
Thats my take on it and thanks for the kind words.
 
'ASSHOLE' - this word is used many times in many posts but if i translate it in shudh hindi or haryanvi i may be banned straightaway.

now translate it in exact hindi or haryanvi..

Agree word to word!!!

I wont say that mods are wrong in their acts always but they should participate in the debates like this. These healthy debates only can bring in the change and not the stick marely. I have seen only Satyeshwar posting a bit in such instances and no other.

So mods please come forward and provide your point of view and also influence others thoughts by your end thoughts. People must know it from your angle. Dont kill people silently :) ha ha.

SID you and Seema are right in this that the Mods should come a debate in open and must tell what is right and what is wrong from their side. So that we members should provide some of our views and atleast all come up to some outcome. Always this happens and some of members got frustrated by some action may be right or wrong but from the members point of view its always right. So atleast if some decision is there from all members after an healthy debate then it would be nice to quote in such instances in future.

As far as your views are concerned about freedom of speech. I would say I strongly agree you. But freedom and UCHSHRINKHALTA (dont know exact word in english :() mein pharak hai. Free and checkless are two different things. Balke mein ye samajhta hun ki ek sudh tareeke se strong vichar rakhe jae to us bande mein confidence aur jyada ata hai. BULLS..HIT, ASS..HOLE, BALLS.., SWEETY... aur bhi bahut honge words hein jo ki appatijanak/offensive kahe ja sakte hein.

Waise hi aaj ke balak sab badhaen aur bandhan / limits todne par utaru hein joki kae jegah theek hein jahan purani kuritiyon se ladna hai .... lekin kam se kam aam bol chal aur vad-vivad ki bhasha ko to sudh rakha ja sakta hai ... else we will not be having any difference between the slang language of west and we indians. Agar Bharti ye kaheti hein ki this leads to have a bad affect on growing children using this site then I fully agree her.

THERE MUST BE SOME CHECK.

Agar hum decorem maintain nahi rakhenge to am dead sure that coming gen jats will mess up with slangs. WILL THAT BE A FREEDOM OF SPEECH. SHAYAD NO!!!!

he said that censored word to politicians... so if we try to translate that word in english the nearest word is "traitors"... he mentaioned 'traitors' word too in his post but you see it is not censored only the hindi version is censored.

so moral of the story, haryanvi mein likho, sirf haryanvi chutkale post karo, hindi mein type karo... lakin jab aise word use karne hoon toh PLEASE dont use rude language like haryanvi or hindi type those things in more refined language like english.

Jitendar bhai, zara soch ke dekho - freedom of speech mein tumhara koi nuksaan nahin hai - nuksaan politicians aur government ka hai - unki baatein saamne aayengi if people know that this freedom is absolute and protected by the constitution.

Here is a fact - nobody can give you a basic freedom - Like freedom of speech - you are born with it.

If you think there should be restriction on freedom of speech then there should also be restriction on right to vote. Only educated people should be able to vote. the right to vote by that standard is very dangerous - and you see the effects in India - this right produces leaders like mayawati , laloo etc etc.

This discussion is endless - but you have to recognize the core concept - you are born with these freedoms - not given by the government. Government is not your mai-baap, they are just a liability in every way possible - and that is a fact.

Do you think freedom of speech will wreak havoc on the country and some people will use it to cause riots etc etc - guess what - it is already happening - every other day there is some kind of mob violence happening somewhere in the country - public property being burned - women raped - some politicians cronies are using their freedom of speech to incite people already - there is no harm in you having that right.

There is a reason why western countries are advanced because their citizens can dream - dream big - they are not limited by some stupid restriction on their basic freeedoms. India will remain a third world country till its citizens recognize their birth rights and that is a fact.

Being able to buy mobile phones, ipods and other stupid gadgets will not get anybody anywhere.

SID bhai ... I think that we both are agree on the freedom of speech part.

We differ a bit only at the "HOW TO DELIVER FREEDOM OF SPEECH?"

Whether by using soothing language for all or slang language. Can we acheive our freedom of speech by not using slangs?

Haan just like Seema indicated on my post that SWEETY is not objectionable ... may be I am orthodox in picking it to be in objectionable list .... but yes we have to find out which type of language we should use to deliver our freedom of speech here on this community site.

शत पर्तिशत सहमति...This hindi & Harryanvi shud be banned rightaway...Both of these are indecent, archaic and crude langauges.... It is only english-probabaly the language where people can think positively & in a gentleman way...we shud use these profanities ONLY in english because this English refines them & makes them holier to express ingenuity,contemporary trends with a modern prospective outlook....

Long live queen for all the civilization she has bestowed on us by English..!!!!!
