Na miniisha ji ghabrao mat ... planning ker ke implement bhi keraan saan .... kati suki planning nahi kerte ..... letka to nahi hoon ... per letka jaroor diya karoon .... eb aade tamilnadu aalaan ne latkaan laag rya soon ... aage jharkhand aalaan ne latkaaoonga ja ke eb Gurgaon main .... uste pehle MP aale latkaaye thee er us te pehle Rajasthan aale ... ab taahin te koi latka nahi paaya hai

Baki ghabrao mat aage mumbai ka bhi number padan aala hai ... baaki te mehaare office aale panuch liye main bhi ude panuchan aala soon ...

I had done my P.G. in Geography from K.U. Kurukshetra and Master in Planning with Specialization in Regional Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.
I am working as a Manager in Voyants Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Gurgaon in its Project Development and Planning Division. Basically skilled in City Planning.

Hi Sanjeet; I also have a Masters in Urban Design, (University of Miami, School of Architecture) ...[after a bachelors in Architecture from India (Institute of Environmental Design in Gujarat)]...
therefore must say was quite curious to notice your 'varied' credentials (see the bolded areas!); specially the Regional Planning part!

so tell me- your present duties involve more of the overall master planning or simply looking at projects (design/development) of new buildings etc. for the company as part of their planning divison?...

The reason I ask is that I would think that your Masters in Regional planning probably qualifies you to dabble in the more interesting and 'lucarative' Urban designing field, wouldn't it???... Would seem like a terrible waste otherwise for a degree in quite a specialized field, I would presume!...
But then again, I am not aware of how much the possibilities are at present in India in that (Urban Design and Planning) field, really... [But going by the huge amount of new developments that one reads about happening there, I would think it is something that somebody like you would do well to be actively involved in...]

Was curious anyhows.....

Now a days in this Government they had allocated 100000 crore for the urban infrastructure development in a systematic manner ...they have postulated 2 programme . JNNURM i.e. Jewharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission this is for selected metros, million + , Haritage towns and Capital cities. and the other programme was UIDSSMT and IHSDP which is Urban Infrastructure Development for Small and Medium Towns and Integrated Housing and Slum Develpment Programme.

Under each programme the town has to prepare City Development Plan covering every sector i.e. Infrastructure (Social and Physical), Finance, Economy, Organizational Strengthening, Stakeholders View, Planning, Housing and Slum Haritage.... after assessment projects has to be identified. After preparation of DPR the centre Govt. will 80% fund for that project 10% from State and rest to be given by the ULB....

So lot of infrastructure works and planning works are going on in India....Apart from this now its a phase of Industrialization in India so lots of SEZ and Industrial parks are coming and developers are coming with Large Scale residential Housing projects ... so only the Scope of master planning is limited to these projects till date.

In the coming time e-Governance is emerging field and Govt will focus on Municipal GIS so lot of work for Planners here.

In School of Planning and Architecture there is no major difference between Regional Planning and Urban Planning.... Some common subjects are there and the theme for each study is same ... jis time market jaise chalta hai wahi curriculum ho jata hai dono ka ...

Is pe ragging nahi ....

Na ji mein tai unn hi modda ki baat kar raha hoon jo dhunni laa kei baitya karai :)
Makka yo anil kadde modda ho rehya ho ... kayiye jangha padh li modda modda(moderator) par makka ke bera insaan nai modda hontei ghana tame na lagya karai ... kemme ghatna ho gi ho chorre gail :p:D;)

oye yaar .. profile badi choti chhoti hain jatland pe ... ek kaam karo "request to moderator" thoda sa khud ke baare main likhan ki te jegha do profile main jitna is taage main likhaan saan ....

Pehle you e taaga bharwao..... pher aage ne baidhan do .. aaj kaal kaafi naye naye jatlanders join keran laag re sain roj 4-5, 4-5 aae jaan sain
