The following definitions are taken from an article that defines music according to different perspectives:)


Music is science
It is exact, specific; and it demands exact acoustics. A conductor's full score is a chart, a graph which indicates frequencies, intensities, volume changes, melody, and harmony all at once and with the most exact control of time.:)
Music is mathematical
It is rhythmically based on the subdivisions of time into fractions which must be done, not worked out on paper.:)
Music is a foreign language
Most of the terms are in Italian, German, or French; and the notation is certainly not English &endash; but a highly developed kind of shorthand that uses symbols to represent ideas. The semantics of music is the most complete and universal language.:rock
Music is history
Music usually reflects the environment and times of its creations, often even the country and/or racial feeling.:confused:
Music is physical education
It requires fantastic coordination of finger, hands, arms, lip, cheek, and facial muscles, in addition to extraordinary control of the diaphragmatic back, stomach, and chest muscles, which respond instantly to the sound the ear hears and the mind interprets.:tamatar
Music is all of these things, but most of all
Music is art
It allows a human being to take all these dry, technically boring (but difficult) techniques and use them to create emotion. That is one thing science cannot duplicate: humanism, feeling, emotion, call it what you will. :(
 
For me MUSIC is my SOUL with whom i can relate myself in all types of moods irrespective of time/place/gathering. Music as essential for me as AIR/BREATH/CLOTHES/FOOD & SHELTER. Music makes me forget even MY OWNSELF not only the WORLD:) n keeps connected too WITH LIFE & ITS REALITIES

PS: Let me turn in to a deaf and ask you guys, what is music for a deaf person then.......;).MUSIC is surely an unjustice to a deaf.Has he/she no soul you mean.........?[/SIZE][/SIZE]

For me, music is a pure spirit, that keeps my feet on ground and influnces my thought process more than anything else.

I like light Indian music in general and Haryanvi music in particular.

For me, no one sings better than Pale ram Dahiya and lyricist, of course Fauji Mehar Singh is my first choice. Every verse of his any Ragni is a tale in itself.
For me it is " Haryana Darshan" sitting ten thousand km away from motherland.

Classical music, no way. Pt. Jasraj ji is an exception.

My favourite is his this album. Samar bhai aap bhi suno, it will keep you fresh and would lighten you of your burden of exams. Jal Jamuna and Allah Meharbaan in particular

Music is phaltu ka drama jo aajkal bahut lokpriye hai. Dikhawa, dhong aur khudh ko jabardasti busy rakhne ka saadhan.
Waise i got a gud definition of the same

"an artistic form of auditory communication incorporating instrumental or vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner"
