In 1999 the price was Rs 550/- per quintle and in 2004 the price was Rs. 630/- Per quintle. Total Net increase during NDA(BJP) tenure was Rs.80/- Per Quintle
And During UPA tenure ruled by Congress the support price of Wheat is as under:-
In 2004 the price was Rs 630/- per quintle and in 2009 the price was Rs. 1080/- Per quintle. Total Net increase during UPA(Congress) tenure was Rs.450/- Per Quintle

Sachin bhai- just to be clear- my point was not in Hooda's support. I don't really know if Hooda or Chautala were better in terms of land acquisition. It is a stand alone point.
Another thing is that people have started using points like prices of oil, wheat and land to argue for or against the govt. One has to realise that these things are mostly guided by market dynamics. The govt.'s role is to set the right policies, but it can't control the global markets. For example, instead of discussing the price of petrol during either govt.'s rule, the right question to ask is that why the govt. is subsidising kerosene so heavily when most of it goes into the black market to adulterate petrol (and all govts. till date are guilty of that).

ya you are right bhai, actually to understand those economic nuances people must really get a brief on how international crude oil prices are managed/manipulated and what role/interests OPEC has in those rates. Keeping pace and understanding them is not an easy task, actually this OPEC they keep guessing the market.
