(Sorry guys......go ahead.. .bring on some more autopsy...:D)

Guru ji,
You made strangeness "measurable"...still...
But aren't we back to square one? The author decided the functions for normal behaviour (most probably her/his own), and labelled the outliers (manne bhi madi si padhai ki thi:D) as strange.
So, the author would need to know herself/himself before labelling anyone strange, right? Isn't there a bias here?
Regards
Yo !!! That was the exact reason I was asking you to come up with a function of n-variables (x1,x2,.....xn) where each variable represents some strage behaviour and f( x1,x2,....xn) gives out a value which represents "strangeness" if the inputs represents "strange" behaviour of variables.

The usual boundary conditions are if all the input variables represents strange behaviour in their particular domains , the output represents a truly strange behaviour.
And if all the inputs represent "non-strange" , the output is "non-strange" !

Do it mate :) What more simplifications do you need ?:eek:

On topic (Before they massacre my post ruthlessly ;)):

As the post says that we people are strange , I would say, in addition to that people are stupid ...here I go again..quoting Einstein

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

Thank you thank you..for the applause..:D:D:D

Thanks Poonam , woh to aap keh rahi ho isliye ab main post kar doonga :D:p , warna sachii mein nahi karta :)

Waise i have never backed off from explaining myself , and always talked about sahring knowledge , I come from mathematics , happy to let people know how I approach things!

I expect the same from everyone !
Let's know of all the fields , confluence is bliss :)

There was an advertisement from Apple regarding the misfits....any idea?
Yeah, I didn't understand the blog post that Jit had pasted in the original post. First of all, the descriptive para describes a hypocrite rather than a self-centric or a selfish person (as the essence seemed to be that what is right for me is not right for you). Secondly, hypocrite behavior is not "strange" at all. Thirdly, even self-centric or selfish behavior is not "strange" (In both cases I mean rare when I say "strange"). Fourthly, strangeness is based on a reference frame. One can look at my employer HSBC's marketing campaign for examples. The ads show how different things are perceived differently by different people, one example below

You seem right ! :) ... while floating in the cyber sea, landed on her blog somehow .. found the paragraph interesting so felt like shaking the heads of JL's intellects like Dalal Bros ! ;)

Anil,
Especially for you, Guruji:
“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

-Steve Jobs

Jit

Hehe, main to arbit guess maar raha tha from the style/content of the message and also because you found it (Jit, naughty boy, surfing the cyber sea for female blogs :D). But seems that I was bang on. Let me risk a few more guesses- the girl probably was reminiscing an old flame, some NORMAL guy with double standards for himself and her (please note the stress on normal :D). And she branded his hypocrisy as strange. Either she is too young or just inept with words.

... and don't you feet it strange that how strangly she knows about the strangers ? :)

Whatever glee you may feel, I am sure people would be gaining some knowledge in conversations with you, hopefully.:)

People are different in many ways.

Strange, chaotic, crazy all of these words fall way short of expressing such people. But if I tell you that they are, not selfish, but self-centered to such an extent that nothing else would matter to them apart from themselves, you can start painting a picture of the people I am describing here. The thing that they desire for themselves might be any of the following... money, ego, power, status or recognition. At the end of the day, however, what matters most to them, is just themselves. Others, well, they could please go to hell.

Let's get back to the topic mates ! :)

Well Kapil might have regarded this as the work of a girl too young or inept with words trying to describe the behaviour of a person with "Double standards" , when i went back to read the first post of Jit again , I was kind of suprised to find something which is pretty close to "universal truth".
Yes I repeat this is becoming more of an universal truth , the lines quoted above are true , I concur with the wuthor , though I modify it by removing the word strange and rather adding the word "common" to this kind of behaviour.

Who is not selfish here ? Who is really concerned about the "common good" than the "self-good"?

Whose priority list's top few elements are not based on " Me , me , myself , my family etc etc .. " !
