Nishant bhai, India has the courage and resources to make some new beginning in the arena of political reforms and so on, the only thing why we fail is that our politicians (whom we chose or are chosen) lack the will power to implement the the policies. And if we continue not to cast our vote, government of those kind of public representative will flourish, who do not have will power to bring a change in nation's interest.
Due to the democratic nature of India, it will never be possible to opt for a two party system. Consequently, regional parties will continue play and we will continue to have hung parliament and hung assemblies all the time. So, if we can make an effort to mobilise the people to vote in favour of only two national parties in the interest of the country, it will ultimately diminish the regional parties. Subsequently, we will put a step towards the decrease in the number of political parties in India and thus more stable government and more will power to implement the policies. However, if public is dissatified with the performance of the government, they can give chance to the second national party to take the office in next elections and this should continue. Ultimately, it will make the government and national parties more accountable towards the public.
Though it is a gradual process, but needs to be initiated at some point of time by the people of the country. It will not be wise to wait.
Now, the Vajpayee Government in 2002 initiated the MNIC(multipurpose national identity card) project and to develop a database of the people of the country. This has been carried forward by Manmohan Government.
The events of 26 November in Mumbai have hastened the set up of the National Authority for Unique Identity. The body was set up on 27 January 2009. The initial phase of the project is expected to cover nine States and four Union Territories. The UID will be issued to people living in the coastal villages of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and West Bengal. The Union Territories of Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Lakshadweep, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands shall also be covered in this first phase expected to deliver the identity cards by early 2010. The rest of the country to be covered by 2013.
In short, in order to enhance the accoutability and better governance, mobilise the masses to vote.
