India - 11 Years of Nuclear Power - What we achieved?

I think after 11 years india 's achivement is every one know, Inflection, Terriousm, low Political level, areasim, unemploment....etc. But we can say GDP increase becz some Pvt sector grow like telecom,banking, housing, infra....

America is capable of handeling such situations they have every weapon on the earth. Then where the hell was George W Bush when 9/11 happened? Where were their so called basic equipments?

Are Americans not afraid of terrorists ? What about impact of terrorist on American Minds? People here are not afraid even in situation like when Taliban is only a few kilometres away from border. We are capable and had proved it several times. And show in future also.

Dear Friends,

I think we should work on our critism rather than making joke or reacting in a bad way. Also action and reaction supported by others... may be in the absence of their own opinions. It is very true we are dependent or foreign powers/countries on almost all the things even on our eatables like wheat and rice (since we imported lot even last year).

Also US/Britain/Russia ....etc. are not eying India because they see India as a big power..who is going to be so called super power if someone thinks like that it is totally a mistake. They see India's liability (population) as there assets and this is the only reason they are inclined towards India... on the top of that we Indians is also in this illusion that we are getting powerful because they are getting close to us.

Moral of the story is population, which the west is eying they are just like baniye (dukan to wahin hoge jaha kharidar honge). And we as a Indian is missing something in the process and not even putting any efforts to make our self self sustained.

Taking positives out of the discussion I feel we all are making our points but without accepting the critism that we are dependent on foreigners to sustain in case of any unavoidable circumstances. eg. Kargil war (Russian exploited us and charged heavy even for bombs) and still they are revising the cost every year for that 20 year old ship. Still we are acting like a rusted mind paying money to then even without thinking of developing on its own.

I would say either the innovation is lacking or the support for that innovation is lacking, the reason of BRAIN DRAIN.

I wish we all understand our limitations, accept critisms and use them in our favour.

Nuclear capability has placed India in a respectable position on the world level, it also means option of future wars has been reduced, which is always a good thing.

Also I think that Indian military just like the paki military cannot fight a conventional war for more then 2 weeks. They will run out of spare parts and the people too do not have the stomach for a war longer then that. Thanks.

Hi Aman,

Sometimes a nation has to make a decision to assert itself. Pls see my post above. Now war with neighbours is a remote possibility as it will result in total annihilation.

Bhai aap takaatvaar ho toh sab aap ki baat suntay hai...this is a fact.

Secondly you made some points, well my friend we never had fair and equal level playing field.

We were ruled by others for over 1400 years so what do you expect.

A nation which gave Zero and Decimal to the world went into the darkness.

And for last 100 years group of powerful countries are dictating terms to less powerful, which is to our disadvantage but I'm sure India will find its rightful stage on the world stage.
