I think it also depends on the kind of job in question- the jobs based on mostly common sense (like banking, consultancy, etc.) would see more bullshitters.

You did not mean me ;) righto ? :p :D

Knowledge can be gained anytime or hired, but confidence not. ok a bit comes with experience.

Why cant confidence be hired/gained any time ?

Totally depends on the perspective , I have two senior colleagues , both 15+ years in the company I am working with. One has extreme knowledge about systems and resources , other just knows how to wave his hands off on any damn thing! I respect the former much more than the latter , though the latter in a shorter time is higher in ranks than the former , then again each one has its own definition of success.
The former is respected immensely by everyone and people talk good about him behind his back and the latter is blasted by everyone , so its all relative!

Can you drive a car confidently without gaining the knowledge to drive it first ???
I will put it like How many driving lessons you required to drive a car in Europe? I took 3 and I was driving in Germany easily where there is no speed limit. And before that I never touched the steering in India.

Dear Anil,
I was waiting for your reply. Nice and appropriate, totally agree with you.

Gita ka updesh Bhakti hai na ki gyan. Bhakti = faith almost= confidence

Just like many other words, Bhakti's meaning also has been distorted in modern times which causes confusion.

Bhakti is not faith, Bhakti means acquring or finding out complete knowlegde of the subject which you are trying to know. Once we have the knowledge we have shradha, anyway this will need a new thread.

Of course, some take less times than others to understand and learn things so they quickly become confident in their endeavours.

Learning to drive a just an example and not should not be taken literally.

Knowledge is power...

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."...

-Abraham Lincoln,
16th president of US (1809 - 1865)

Knowledge is absolutely key... and the only thing that sustains the long run no matter what area you may be referring to... ;)

Its really nice to discuss spirituality with you. If you don't mind lets continue in the same thread, Since confidence and knowledge both are two strong pillars of spirituality.

Bhakti is mainly associated with God ( here I am talking about Ishwar Bhakti) and due to infinite nature of HIM nobody can acquire complete knowledge of HIM ( Bhagwaan divya hai aur hum maya ke adhin hain, isliye vo hamri buddhi ke pare hai, so its impossible to know HIM, but still we have faith in HIM and faith in God is Bhakti). Now for example Dhanna Jat realized the God because he had faith in what was told to him hence he had faith in HIM and he was confident he will realize the God.
Knowledge is just a hindrance to achieve God (which is our ultimate Goal also). Thats why if you read Gita Bhashya written by Shankaracharya, Ramanujacharya or anybody else there is no similarities.
Gita just reflects what you have in your mind. Fo Shankar saw Adwait in it, Ramanuj saw Dwait, Karmyogi sees Karmyog and Gyani sees Gyanyog.

Bhaio sirf 1 choose karna hai , sari cheezo ki jarorat nahi batani.

'confidence' jada jarori hai.

thodi bahut knowledge kam ho to kaam chal jata hai par agar confidence me kami hai to kaam bilkul nahi chalega.

Confidence v/s Knowledge

dear friends, i am a student ,, in our class mostly all of the teachers use to check our grades and levels by organising GD's(group discussions)
among the students....they says that GD's are the best way to check weather a student have learned the subject or not....
in our class there are two types of students---
A-who have a good knowledge but less confidence to express their views and points.
B-those having loads of confidence bt no knowledge(i belongs to group B)
usually 'B' type of students use their confidence against opponant's knowledge ,because they have that GIFT OF GAB
by which we can convince any body,,,even the teacher...
(they have a persuing power...)
and on seeing 'B' type student's confidence even 'A' type students feel helpless(altaugh they have all the knowledge) and starts lossing their hope....
in my point of view sucess in life can not be desired by knowledge....
but by confidence you can have 100% sucess for sure...
what is knowlege????
Knowledge is nothing but just an information about some thing.
For example, you may know the rules of swimming or cricket but unless you swim or play cricket you can not get the wisdom ...

soo what do you think which one is the key to sucess.........CONFIDENCE OR KNOWLEDGE

Firstly leave all the scriptures aside for a minute.

Secondly, You can do bhakti of any field that exist in the Universe, as everything emanates from him hence you are studying god only (or super intelligence) indirectly.

As I said earlier the meaning have changed over time and words like maya, gyan, karm are not used the way they should be.

The secret to understanding is, within the right usage of the language.

In mundane world say When someone has complete knowledge of Maths (and all its branches) that person becomes Realised in Maths, same applies in Metaphysics or spirituality.

Realisation is by product when you have acquired complete knowledge.

You dont ask for it, it simply happens.

Those who say only faith is required does not hold true. If I tell you to have faith in god and jump of the cliff you will never do it, There are laws which govern this universe, and they don't change for anyone, it does not matter if you have faith or not.

One needs to understand the laws and the template for those laws is avaiable around us i.e in nature.

All we need to do is be open minded and receptive.

Gagan bhai kasam te tera hi intzaar kar reha tha:)..........

mai to inte samjha samjha ke thak liya ke bhai dono mai te ek choose karna hai........prr ye saari cheeza ki jaroorat btan lagre sai.......
karne ne mai teesra option bhi paa saku tha(experience, luck, hard work etc)

pr maine kaha naa GD's mai hamesha 'B' type (mere vale) hi winner hote the.........

ib thamne lagta hai ke mene koi knowledge hai???ya koi hard work karta huu mai.....

vaise thamne bta duu mai bhi state level ka debate reh chuka huu........

arr debate /extempore mai to sirf confidence hi jayada kaam aata hai......

arr vo basic knowledge jo chahiye vo to sabhi ke pas hoti hai........

prr vo kitabi gyan(knowledge) jo 'A' type aale lete hai vo 'B' aale nai lete......

unhe hard work karke bhi kuch nai milta ....arr 'B' type aale confidence see hi jeet hasil kar lete hai...:rock:rock

If I tell you to have faith in god and jump of the cliff you will never do it.
Ya till I will not do that I can not say I have faith in God. And I will not Realize God. 100% faith is required not 99.9999999999999999

You asking??? ...Hmmm, even though doesn't sound like a question addressed to me per say (You say, "Please could you tell me what is the relevance..." ;)) ... it looks more simply as a statement with question marks at the end; I shall still try and clear the cow-webs...

Even though I thought the written part by me after the quote took care of why 'it' was mentioned in this thread...

Look, one can be 'just' some street-smart, slick-alecky, confident-kinda person (minus any true knowledge) and try to wing his/her way thru... but the deception never-ever lasts forever or too long!!!

Only knowledge of (whatever it is at stake) can help sustain any-one's (even passing) interest in the smart-ass one-liners!!! :)

In this universe there is nothing beyond natural laws. It is not belief but a fact.

A true Yogi is a scientist, Everything in Vedic Scriptures has a hidden meaning to sort out the true seekers from the rest.

Here I think we are talking of confident-kinda person with knowledge and if not ready to acquire it. Not confident-kinda person minus any true knowledge. choose between Genuine confidence and knowlege.

Galat kah raha hai bhai manjeet kirshan ji ko gyaan nahi tha kirshan ji ko confidence tha ki 100 kauravo ko 5 pandav hara denge. gyaan to jab hota agar usne kahi padha hota ya kisi na bataya hota ki pandav jeetenge.

Ye kirshan ji ka confidence tha ki 5 pandavo ne 100 kauravo ko mahavharat me hara diya tha. :)
Mr.sandeep jo aap khe rhe ho aap sab aapka confident hai ya knowledge
.oh come on man u know na ki aap aapne confident se kis chiz ke bare main soch nhi sakte uske liye uska knowledge hona chiye

aap main sirf confident ho to aap computer bhi use nhi kar sakte

i told that

there is three step

1.....hardwork
2.....knowledge
than comes ........your confident

try to make something ........:p
