Hukka is a social symbol for JATS as per CH. Chottu Ram, mostly farmer jats used to this instead its harmful for health. there is one saying that the farmer who dont smoke hukkah is very harsh towards their ox..hukkah ke bahane Baldha(Oxes) ne bhi aaram mil ja sei...i also have fond of hukka especially when it smoke in a TOLLY(togetherness). and u know there a special customs and manners to smoke hukka, first puff would be start by someone elder there and younger one would circulate it.......amazing na......different taste with heart touching flavour.

Nice to inform about the custom of smoking a Hukkah, but regarding bulladh, Bidi or ciggarrette will also provide them some respite.....

bhai my perception is also that hukka is better than biddi or cigrette, sabse theek bat to ya hai ke isske sath 4-5 ekathe baith jein se, do char edhar udhar ke discussion kar le se, main bhi gam me jan jab thada expirence le liya karu. Although smoking is injurious to health whether it be biddi, cigrette or hukka.

And like others have pointed out, both are injurious (hukkah being lil' more than cig.).
