Information about one's private life can be in public domain. In fact, it is increasingly the trend courtesy the falling standards of journalism and pressure of delivering "what sells".

But the fact that an information has become public doesn't mean that it pertains to one's public life. What public knows or wants to know has nothing to do with what public NEEDS to know (which is what I'd term as public life- something public has a right to know through acts like RTI). It is human nature to be interested in gossipy masala that has no bearing on anyone apart from the individuals involved.

hehe jiske pass power hota hae uska wrong bhi right hota hae. samaj mein aa gaya bhai. :D

Deppender ne interview diya ki woh India Rahul Gandhi se "inspired: hoke wapas aaya desh seva karne ke liye aur Rahul Gandhi PM hongee next!
Hehe it does not harm to kiss arse!! Jiske pass power hota hae uska makkan marne se, tumare pass bhi thoda bahut power aa jata hae! :D
Hameen aise saare deshbhakt America se wapas bulwane chaiyee desh sewa ke liye. But hehe inme se mera naam kaat do. :D

Congratulations to Deepender Hooda and Shweta Mirdha. Just to update the members, engagement ceremony was really fabulous. Shweta is very beautiful and charming. PM, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and almost all ministers came to congratulate Deepender and Shweta. Needless to mention, food was fantastic.

Aapka bhi nyotaa aa rya tha deekhe uncle ji:)..........

Bhai Sumit: As long as we are genuinely wishing him well, how does it matter whether he cares or not. Although my personal belief is that he cares.

JS Malik

Sycophancy is the word that comes to my mind. Thousands get engaged and married everyday. Do you go around congratulating everybody? How is Deepender any special?

This is the problem with Indians. You carry your elected officials on our heads. Why? Hes not royalty. Hes a public servant. "Janta ka naukar" as I would say in saadharan bhaasha!

This is reality and no one wants to admit it. Kyunki kal ko shayad koi kaam padd sakta hai!

Sir, without being disrespectful, aapne saari umar vardee pehni hai. Thoda hunar aur robb dikhaiye! Jab saari zindagi leader aaye aur leader gaye lekin aapki vardee wahin ki wahin rahi to ab kyun auron ke saath jhuk rahe ho!

Others falling over each other to congratulate a politician can be expected. Not from you and other senior army officers on the forum.

As far as Deepender's personal matters of the past are concerned, I would not say anything about it because I can understand such things hurt. No matter what, it is a painful episode in his and his his family's life. Out of personal decency I would not talk about it whether its Deepender Hooda or its some Deepender Dahiya.

I do not know you personally. But, the ten people I know on this forum, half of them are fakes. And when they go badhahi ho badhai, I think Deepender understands how fake they are. Otherwise he wont be where he is.

I do not know Deepender. So I wont join the mad rush of congratulating an unknown person. If he was my friend, I would have shown him some respect and would have taken this opportunity to express my wishes privately.

Strongly agreed !

Respect to you for not being a sycophant. I agree and appreciate your sentiment of not "joining the mad rush of congratulating an unknown person"- a reason why I didn't do it myself despite being the first one to reply. But why make such a big fuss over it- esp. with respect to hunar, robb, vardee, etc? I don't think even a dimwit would think that "oh, when I have some work from Deepender, I'd show him my post on JL where I congratulated him on his sagaai". Many people don't think twice before posting a congratulatory message- it is an instinctive reaction for them. Or they have a soft corner for the person even if he is unknown to them. There are umpteenth threads here where someone has got admission somewhere OR got a job OR won an award OR what not and people have congratulated them. Their choice, let it be. On balance, probably unwarranted praise is better (or should I say less harmful) than unwarranted criticism.

Kya karein zindagi isko jab hum mile,
Iski jaan kha gaye raat din ke gile.

I respect your opinion just like you respect mine. I smelled a 'Rat' and called 'Rat!'

I felt people were falling over each other to post on the thread and I felt the apparent sychophancy and called it out.

Other congratulatory threads run for a page or two. This thread is already in its fourth page. if its not sycophancy, then what is it?

Its not that somebody would pull up their JL post for Deepender. Its just that they dont want to be left out of a list of those who posted positively on this forum.

I do not know much about you. But you sound like an attorney. LOL! If you are one ,trust me you will never be satisfied by any explanation from those with whom you disagree.

I have nothing against Deepender either. Actually I believe he is among some of the decent politicians out there if you consider the fact that there is no known rampant corruption on his part.

I said what I said because sometime some thing need to be said. And trust me, if it hurts, probably it is true.

Dear Sumit,

You did not get my point and perhaps never will. But that is fine by me.

The answer to all your doubts and queries, mentioned above, could be given in four words: MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. But NO, I must clarify though I need not.

I have congratulated Mr Deepender Hooda for the following reasons:

1. He is a Jatland member. I would normally wish people when something good happens in their lives. Since someone started a thread on this issue, I too congratulated him. This reason was good enough to wish him well.
2. My father knew his grandfather rather well. This fact may or may not be known by his father but he need not know it.
3. My eldest sister is married in Village SANGHI. I suppose that makes him my relative too.
4. I see him often but have met him once. I told him "I am Jagmohan Singh Malik, from Jatland". He was very polite and courteous. By the way, the job I am in brings me face to face with at least few Members of Parliament everyday and I can say it with complete conviction that he is one of the most humble person I have seen.

I seek no favor from him. I seek no plot in HUDA. I seek no job for my son or any other relative. I can only give them: my vote.

I think above reasons are good enough for a sane person to wish a youngster on his engagement.

As far as 'Fauj', 'Officer' and 'Vardi' is concerned, your argument is misplaced and out of context.

And by the way; if and when you get engaged, please let me know. I will wish you well too. I promise.

Best regards,

JS Malik
