Private sector gives you money, public sector gives you peace of mind.
I would prefer Public sector over private sector.
Which one you think is better, Private or Public sector?

Bhai Jaroori na hai ki Public sector gives you peace of mind.It depends in which field do you work.
Baaki rahi mann ki shanti ki baat to bhai wa to banani pade hai chahe kitte kaam kar le....

Both have their own advantages and disadvantages. It's a personal choice.Baaki after this pay commision Public sector looks very attractive.

In India, Corporate world is a better place to work.. In Developed countries, Govt job is a dream job..

Bhai ye kya baat kar di...India mei corporate world kahan se better ho gaya...Vahan 9 to 9 and 7 days a week work hota hai...
hahaha Agree with you buddy..

But when you come out of office at 9 PM.. You come out like a Tiger and you feel that you learned something or you added some value for the company.

I may be wrong.. but I used to feel like that..

Peace of mind in terms of job security or Less work??

Job security bro. Work depends on which department you work for. As an engineer if i go to NTPC or BHEL like company I would definitely be working, but my job is not any surveillance radar there everytime. In private sector your each and every hour is monitored. Your manager will be on your back if you don't meet schedule. That creates loads of tension in mind. Comparing this public sector is far far better than private.

Bhai akshay aade private me man ki shanti bnaye te bhi nahi banti. 2 din sukh ke nahi likdan dete aade. Kaam ka tagda danda rah se. Jo jitna kaam kar ke de deve se in ne ye utna e faltu kaam or de deve se. They do give money but they suck you like anything!

Or 6th pay ke baad or bhi jyada craze ho gya h govt jobs ka. Waha par har aadmi ki apni individual naukri hai. tera senior tera appraisal nahi rok sakta aur na tension de sakta tujhe. or time to time naukri h 9 se 5. Aadmi suthri dhaal apne ghar ne bhi sambhaal sake hai..

i think pvt sector is neday better.....haan for sure thr is more work in pvt sector but still u can manage it well if u know how....

public sector mein seniors ki to chaprasi ke saamne bhi koi junior beizzati kar de aur koi kuch nahin keh sakta....

ek insaan ne chhoti si complaint kar di to mahino enquiry hi chalti rahegi....

n for wht deepak said....tht u get more time in a public sector...well my dad is in a public sector since he started workin n i hav spent months at a stretch without even seeing his face...had to call him if i wanted to talk abt somethin......

so i like pvt sector better....more so after workin in 1 !!

Bhai Jo mehnat kareyga uskee job tey sab jagah secure hai.

Bhai jo log kuchh kerkay dikhana chahtey hai unkey liyea to private sector hee badhiya hai or jinhoney aapna kam say kam kaam kerkey bhee job security dekhnee hai unkay liyea govt. sector badhiya hai. Per jo log bahut mehnati hai unko koi recognision nahi milta govt job mein.

Mein to private mein ghana khush hun or jo mere sath key govt job mein hai wo mujhey dekh key dukhi reh hai. or time kee koi dikkat nahi hai 10 to 6.30 kee job hai phone pay 24 ghantey chaley hai.

Indians ko bematlab ki aadat hoti hai jyaada impress karne ki senior ko ... bachpan se school mein nikamme teachers ko impress karne se ye ulti aadat padti hai.
In technical language this is a result of High Power distance index in the Indian culture.

Here is what it means........... from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geert_Hofstede

  • Low vs. high power distance - This dimension measures how much the less powerful members of institutions and organizations expect and accept that power is distributed unequally. In cultures with low power distance (e.g. Austria, Australia, Denmark, New Zealand), people expect and accept power relations that are more consultative or democratic. People relate to one another more as equals regardless of formal positions. Subordinates are more comfortable with and demand the right to contribute to and critique the decisions of those in power. In cultures with high power distance (e.g. Malaysia), the less powerful accept power relations that are autocratic or paternalistic. Subordinates acknowledge the power of others based on their formal, hierarchical positions. Thus, Low vs. High Power Distance does not measure or attempt to measure a culture's objective, "real" power distribution, but rather the way people perceive power differences.
That's why people work less in Western countries compared to Indians, chinkis etc.

Iska koi ilaaj nahi hai india mein ... culture hai sada hua hai.

Isliye tu public sector mein naukri kar le.

Agree.. One more point I would like to add is ...
There is a strong govt social agenda in developed countries that citizen should get good medical care, food and place to live irrespective of whether he is employed or unemployed.
This aspect is missing in country like India/China. Job is the only way to keep intestines intact and majority of employers are exploiting their employees on this point..

Public sector a good MNC is a nice place to work.
Job security is always there if u r good at ur part.
Money, work environment its better then any other govt. company.

Hofstede's theory of cultural dimensions has been widely criticized for his survey questionnaire researched only selected companies in different countries. A corporate doesn't truly reflect aspects of a national culture. but, India का एग्जाम्पल तो ठीक लिया आपने.

though bit oftopic but can someone tell if there is any public sector company in pharma ind? cipla, ranbaxy etc all suck the blood and same do the small companies like mine.

ताश के पत्ते बजान आला peace of mind. :D:D लोल्ज़ :D:D
I agree with Yudhvir "In India, Corporate world is a better place to work.. In Developed countries, Govt job is a dream job.. "

:rock:rock taash peetan me bhi dimag laage se bhaisaab :rock

baki private sector ne kise aadmi te koi matlab nahi hota. they want their work done at any cost. if you wont do, someone else will. or recession ke time me haal dekh liya private sector ka. Minute nahi lagate employee ne bahar karen me (However hard worker he may be). They need smart workers not hard workers. Koi chahe kitna kaam karne wala ho Job is not at all secure. I've seen in many companies where people got fired for no reason. They will just tell you that you violated code of conduct and fire you. One incident happened in my own company where they fired one employee telling him that he had listened to songs on a weekend. B*** sh**t. (And its not mentiond anywhere in code of coduct guidelines.) They make their own rules when they come up for firing. The sword keeps on hanging there always.

Whereas govt sector always is much safer than private one. Even if you do a mistake it wont cost you your job. No tension of any deadlines. Private me kaam hota h 2 mhine ka or karwate hai 1 mhine me. Meri khud ki team me software wale dekhe h maine lagatar 48 ghnte kaam karte hue. Er customer jab chahe apni marji te deadline ghta-bdha de hai. Badhe to rare case me hai, ha ghta jarur jaldi jaldi deve hai.. Kam time me jyada kaam tension hi badhate hai.. Private sees just their own PROFIT. unhe nahi matlab kisi ki naukri se. jab PROFIT kam hona start ho jata hai to employees fire hone start ho jate hai.

Work environment I agree acha hota hai private me, par yaha par public se bhi jyada ghtiya politics hoti h. Or yaha par work environment isliye bhi acha hota hai kyuki sabko apni naukri pyari hai. Kise ne kise ke khilaf kuch bol diya to samjho uski naukri gayi.. Koi harass karega uski bhi naukri gayi. That's wy the environment is better. Nahi to aade bhi jutam-pajaar hoyi pave hai.

I don't know about other countries as I have never been outside, so I can't comment on this. People living abroad may put more light on that.
In India govt job is much more Secure and tension free than Private job for me.
Recession has indeed brought out the ugly face of Private sector.
