Purpose of this site
I would rather members think of sharing such a dream, and pursue such goals, than take up the time of other members, in getting themselves moderated.
Ravi Sir,
An excellent post and it was a treat to read. No doubt moderators are doing a great job and it is such a thankless job. I share some of the experience you guys get. Scary is the thought for the day when you log in and read some non-sense post/message from one of the members who was pissed off becasue you banned/warned him. Happens once in a while and no matter how hard you try , weighs in on your mind for the rest of the day.
Anyways, what I wish to highlight is the fact that like any organisation , I think the key to a succcessful JL (and which will incorporate many of the points you mentioned) is the forward looking approach. We should really be concerned on how do we want JL to look 5 years hence. 7-8 years(from the inception) is a decent amount to time to achieve some sense of stability and to look forward to what you want to achieve. There have been N number of threads on the same topic , very lil new comes up other than just the faces changing. I guess most of what I write has already been written by someone else as well at some point of time and might be on 200th page on the list of topics in the general section.
What we really need is a group that takes care of the vision we wish to have (unless we all think that JL is a 2-5 year thingy and then we get busy in our lives!
And it will also need leadership initiative from the moderators/admins to get this done.
Just some food for thought.
Excuse me for being off topic and if it does not maek sense to you.
Regards,
Anil
