One more cheap attempt by Rahul Baba (Gandhi) for public attention.

It is very difficult to be a leader. Everybody expects so much. I do not think that rahul gandhi is wasting money in travelling. At least he is going out and meeting people. Rahul comes under the scanner because he is from an imp family. And thats the way things work.

Deshwal Saheb, having a retro look in designer white kurta payjama travelling to Aligarh, Orrisa, Kurukshtera and lofty claims of the representation of lesser known and heard blokes sounds pleasing to ignorant media and educated metrosexuals but don't you think that keeping a perpetual mute stand at Bhopal Gas Victim's fate infers to the stark cheap-o-cracy of the decade? Some truth are so ugly that you like to stick with the superficial pretty lies. Rahul Ghandi is that superficial pretty lie of leadership ( precisely , lack of it) of modern India. His ratings are below Raj Thackrey who is admant about his stands.

Samar, would you like to name a few honest and capable leaders who are genuinely concerned with the real problems country is confronted with. All political parties and their chieftains are more or less the same, except for the left parties who are struggling for their survival. (Ye saare ke saare chor hai aur "chor chor mosere bhai"). Though you are entitled to your opinion about Rahul Gandhi but his comparison with Raj Thackrey seems to be a little unfair. Thakrey's anti-North Indian diatribes are bound to balkanise the country on linguistic lines contrary to Rahul's sincere efforts of national integration. We may like it or not, Rahul's popularity graph is rising among the youth of the country from Kanyakumari to Chandigarh (Not Kashmir) and he has already become a heartthrob for many. We may not be his supporters, but we cannot wish him away and it would not come to me as a surprise if he becomes the next PM.

Samar, Jagmohan was a bureaucrat, I think. He was, however an honest and able administrator but not a politician by any reckoning. Please correct me if I am in the wrong.

Jag Mohan Malhotra was born on 25 September 1927 in Hafizabad, Punjab in undivided India.
  • He is a former governor of Jammu and Kashmir in India.
  • He was in government service for many years.
  • During his tenure as the Governor from 1984 to 1989, militancy in Jammu and Kashmir was at his peak and he was credited with providing capable administration to the state. In Jammu & Kashmir, Jagmohan is credited for bring order to one of the most revered shrines of Hindus, called Mata Vaishno Devi. He created a board that continues to provide administration for the shrine. Infrastructure was developed and that continues to facilitate pilgrims.
  • During the Indian Emergency (1975-1977), he was vice-chairman of Delhi Development Authority and was a confidant of Sanjay Gandhi and Indira Gandhi.
  • In 1982, as New Delhi hosted the Asian Games, Jagmohan served as Lt. Governor of Delhi; he was later credited with capable administration. Later India hosted the Non-Aligned Summit, which was also a success.
  • In 1989, when militancy re-exploded in Jammu & Kashmir, Jagmohan was there to work as Governor when requested by V.P. Singh government. Till then Jagmohan had enjoyed the confidence of Indian National Congress (INC). He was also a confidant of Indira Gandhi's other son Rajiv Gandhi. However, he fell out of INC due to different views on Jammu and Kashmir and joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) though politically BJP is the largest opponent of INC. He became Member of Parliament as a BJP candidate and served under Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
  • Jagmohan was formerly a member of Lok Sabha and a minister in the central BJP government. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1971 and the Padma Bhushan in 1977.
P.S. : Purpose of the post is just to share information as because of the quoted post, the need of getting information about Jagmohan was felt.

Raul eating chicken in a roadside hotel to get media attention is again a big story this week... We are still waiting for food for more tan 40% of our fellow Indians...

You are right Anil. Rahul shouldn't have eaten chicken in a roadside hotel in front of media. He should have got it packed and eaten it quietly in some lonely place behind the bushes. Apart from being expensive, chicken is unhygienic also. He should have taken "Dal Fry" with butter. I think this is improper on his part.
