It was really an honour to see Mr. Sushil kumar handing the Baton to prince Charles,But also felt so embarrased for he took it so casually......For heaven's sake!!:( he was on an international platform, sombody shud have told him how to proceed with pride and attitude

Some of us may take it as an offence.......but we jats have a long way to go in mannerisms.....

Rekhaji, most of the sportspersons chew gums, specially cricket stars. Sushil is a young boy and we can not expect him to behave like a 40 year old mature guy. He is already a big inspiration in sports and that's what we shuould remember about him rather than other silly things. Dont forget that on the same very platform there were lots of people who are epitome of corruption too. That in my view is far serious than chewing gum by someone in his early 20s.

Even I found it bit odd but it was the same case for all Indian players.. when he was heading towards podium to handover the Baton, many players were obstructing his path.

Vijay Ji I know he is very gud at wot he is supposed to,but being in 20's doesnt give him ny excuse for behaving like this, after all he is representing a nation he shud learn dis simultaneously ..plus we can not compare some cricketing event with something like dis........

Itz OK guys itz not really such an issue.
He is a sportsperson and he was running in a stadium.
It was not something like he was chewing the gum in some all formals dinner party and camera got focused on his face while prince charles (ok let it be any dignitary) was delivering the speech.
Hum log kuch jyada hee tension lete hain chhoti chhoti baton ki :) .

waise akshay ki baat mein dum hai.. may be he was trying to ignore nervousness (this trick really works) as we all know that he is basically a shy guy.

.

Jokes apart, there should have been some defined protocol for such events.... but Indian officials and ministers prefer getting clicked than doing some work........ Sushil is bhola jaat.....perhaps he was given this kind of responsibility for the first time............... officers and event managers should have defined protocols for this.....

hahahahahhaa...........anil teri baat sahi hai katti,i knw ki vo bhola jaat hai........par jab issi baat aavengi jab ee te bera paatega unne,so my point is dat if he doesnt knw by himself.te koi mere tere barga batavega te aage te issa kuch na karega

atleast v shudn't igonore it by saying he is bhola jat..............

Very much agreed Rekha. He should have been told about it well in advance....rather all those who carried the baton.... Now also, even though mistake has hapened... he should receive the feedback. Lekin, mujhe nahi lagta ki kisi official ne yeh baat note kee hogi..... Kalmaadi to khud ki daadhi ne bachaawan mein busy tha......er Sports Minister apne fotuaa ke chakkar mein......... :)

I agree. I noticed him the moment he took over the baton. He was in soo much "marodd" that he could barely jog properly, as if he was constipated.
Bhai Parshant, do not condone his silliness just because he is Jat.

hmm , fer bi bhai saab aade is thread ki ke jarut thi.
chab li te chab li .. ib te kime hona naa .. managers ne na btayi to kise or ne rola b na karya ,, manne te aade jatland pe e suni ak is se kuch logo ko " awkwardness" feel hoyi :)

Hamare aadmiya ki ek aur kami ho hai ki hum apni galti kadde nahi maan sakte ... jiss din maan na seekh ge, uss din manas ho jyange.

The lady is not filing a lawsuit. She just raised her concern because she noticed. And as said by Yudhvir, I also felt that bit awkward. But again I am agree with many of you that he is a shy guy, a desi sportsman who has not faced/taken up such responsibilities yet. Perhaps this was his first time. Gradually, with time he will learn such mannerism.

The only point is, on such a big platform if such things wont happen again, it will look more professional and polished. And that will happen only when the guy is aware of the mistake.

I was wondering that if he were Abhinav Bindra or any other non-jat player then also would our reaction be same and equally ignorant?

P.S. Perhaps he is a sportsperson whom I like most because of his simplicity, shy nature, hard work and commitment.
Sushil Kumar Jindabad.

bhai vivek teri bat kuch had tak thik ho sake hai....lekin sushil is shy nd down to earth.....muje nhi lagta ki usme koi marod hai....i think this thread is unnecessary...

I,Agree with it . Its a great opportunity n honour representing you n country on inter national platform. Should have taken care.

Bilkul theek karya chhore nei...

Dear All,

The minute I saw Sushil Kumar carrying the 'Baton' (Gulami ki Nishani), and the manner in which he handed it over to Prince Charles, it was nothing less than AWESOME...

No, he didn't do anything wrong.

Main uski jagah hota te Prince ne sir pe tha k Kalmadi ke upar or pheink detaa, followed by the announcement "LET THE GAMES BEGIN"...... LOL!
