Meanwhile, where are the three biggest leaders of the country- Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi & Rahul Gandhi? Are they ever going to say anything when something needs to be said? Rahul Gandhi took the pain of sneaking into Bhatta Parsaul to fight against state atrocities against common man. Now the same thing is happening right next door and he is missing.

Kapil..this is too much..how can a lowly human like you and me, question divine forces who have direct mandate to rule us? This is blasphemy.. our country is fortunate to have these divine forces...aur jaise bhagwan ki leela hoti hai aur usko vahi jaanta hai vaise hi Rahul knows when to act and when not to act..? This PM, in reality, has become a joke. He is one of the weakest PM we ever had. He looks so weak and fragile.

Probably he was choosen by Sonia because she knew he is a weak person. A strong person would have refused to follow instructions blindly.

On all the issues either his speech is too late or he would say something along the line of" I didnt know about this". "He is innocent on all issues because he didnt know". If you dont know whats going on under your nose then resign. You are the head of the state you share the resposibility. Dont you know even this?

Has he ever lead from the front. He is always reactive rather than proactive. He may be a wise man, a great economist but a weak leader. Sonia is unhappy the way Ramdev issue was handled!!!. As if all this happened on the instructions of Advani not her.

What PM said that was as usual and already known ,,,''i m honest ,but helpless '' and add some more words ''had no option left'' the tag line of our honorable PM. PM of country like India said these words with so much of dignity and prestige,,he is a total besharam ,,,

The cabinet ministers of this govt. are duffers ,,whenever they tried to negotiate with anybody,,, they cut their feet themselves,,,,Now they are claiming that there was no option,when they got the letter by pressurizing baba and his team and baba already said that govt. accept our 99% demands then why सिब्बल shows that letter ,,,सिब्बल was thinking if he does that then public will opposes baba and the total problem will solved ,,,,but wo kahya kare ke '''ghani syani do pe tikadd poya kare ''' Now सिब्बल is claiming that lokpal bill will submit by end of June ,,,,now can he tell what happens to him as in previous time he had no comments since the team lokpal was formed ....so he is such a duffer and mokaparast leader......everybody saw a crook baba but can anybody tell about these duffers,,,,

Some peoples are saying baba ramdev is a crook,,and a flop congressi mr. digvijay singh also saying daily,,if he did any fraud than why govt. shut their mouth from last 5-6 years as they were in power in this era,,baba is campaigning on these issues from last 10-15 years and if he had so much illegal properties then why not investigate him and put him in jail, Digvijay singh is saying they leave baba freely coz they doesn't scared of him ,,can any govt. representative give such type of statement ,,,,whole country knows that diiggiii is leave free by govt. to abusing anybody who apposes wrong intentions of present govt.When osama was murdered by Americans what he said all knows ''osama ji ko dafnana chahiye tha'', so can anybody believe him what he is saying. now he was also caught at cameras when he was beating that guy who shows right thing to a wrong personality.....

Kapil, I think we should not hail the incidents of hurling shoes on the opponents by some idiots. This incident has been condemned even by Ramdev and BJP. That guy deserved harsher thrashing so that no one in future dares to indulge in such kind of shameful acts. Democracy does not offer unlimited freedom of physical assaults or dirty gestures targetitng your critics.

Two minor things first:
1. No where did I hail or support the shoe thrower.
2. The guy wasn't technically a shoe thrower. Of all shoe throwers, he could have had max success. With his target in point blank range, he could have hit twice if he wanted to, but he didn't. He was rather a shoe-shower.

Now coming back to the principles of it, there is absolutely no justification for a public thrashing. Are we supporting vigilante justice? Next time a murderer is caught, is it okay to behead him in public?

The most important part is this. The responsibility is always more on those who wield power. A random person acting on his own is nothing. His action is condemnable without doubt. But it would not be right to focus on him, when a prominent leader of a national party and two times CM is indulging in thuggery in broad daylight. He is the person who preaches everyday to us about Gandhi and principles of non violence. He is the one who is going to stay and wield power in the corridors of Delhi. Not the stranger who showed a shoe.

The onus is on the leader to show that he is fit to lead. Someone who can't curb his violent instincts, and that too in full public view, is he fit to lead?

Do I support Ramdev? No. If his "movement" had gone ahead, I'd have probably been questioning the sanity of some of his demands and getting a lot of brickbats on this forum. Whether it is Ramdev or Anna or anyone else, I don't support the politics of fast undo death. Self-appointed people's representatives can't usurp government/parliament's role to govern/legislate.

But (and it is a very important but), a much bigger wrong is happening here. And in front of that what Ramdev is saying or doing is largely irrelevant. The government has abandoned even a pretension of having any principles. Ramdev didn't descend from the sky last week. He has always been there. The same government was bending backwards trying to please "Babaji". In less than 24 hours, he went from "Babaji" to a thug, RSS stooge, communal, crook and what not! Why? Because he refused to honour a "DEAL", where he gave up his plan to protest. This is surreal stuff. This is how tin-pot dictators operate and not elected & accountable governments. What we expect from Ramdev comes much much after what we expect from the government.

We expect the government to act against Ramdev if they have evidence of his illegal acts. But this action can't be arbitrary and reek of vendetta, when he refuses to play along with them. We expect the government to maintain law & order. But it can't claim that sleeping people were violating law & order. It can't decide who can protest and who can't.

As far as Ramdev is concerned, we can't have one standards for him and another for everyone else. Religion and politics have always been mixed in India, even if they shouldn't be. The biggest saint of them all, Mahatma Gandhi indulged in it. So did Swami Vivekananda, Dayanand Saraswati, etc. Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Narsimha Rao, you name a prominent leader- I can give examples. So his claim of being a saint doesn't make him ineligible. Neither does his mass of wealth make him ineligible. We have leaders here who miraculously become rich AFTER getting power. Anyone who has facts about Ramdev's illegitimate activities should make it public. But there is no merit in saying that just because he has huge wealth mass, he is corrupt. We can't preach to him to travel by means that we see fit for him. That's just elitist. Atleast he is doing it through his own money. There are bigger elephants in the room that no one wants to talk about. Who questions the lifestyle of Gandhis? They travel the way they want to, live in the poshest address in the country, basically do whatever they want to. What is their status apart from being ordinary MPs? And they had all this even when they were not even MPs. What's the source of their income?

कांग्रेस की जूता राजनीति ६ जून को कौंग्रेस के प्रवक्ता जनार्दन द्विवेदी को एक पत्रकार द्वारा जूते से मारने का प्रकरण सामने आया ! कौंग्रेस के नेताओं ने इसे आर एस एस की साजिस और न जाने क्या-क्या नहीं कहा ? परन्तु इसमे कुछ बातें विचार योग्य हैं :- १. कौंग्रेस के अनुसार वह पत्रकार फर्जी पहचान पत्र लेकर प्रेस वार्ता में अन्दर आ गया था ! अब सवाल उठता है कि सत्ताधारी सोनिया पार्टी के मुख्यालय के अन्दर हो रहे प्रेस वार्ता में क्या कोई भी व्यक्ति जा सकता है ? क्या सुरक्षा जांच का वहाँ कोई प्रबंध नहीं है ? और अगर है तो वह अन्दर गया कैसे ? और वो भी फर्जी पहचान पत्र लेकर ! क्या फर्जी पहचान पत्र को पहचानने का कोई जुगाड़ भारत के सुरक्षा कर्मियों के पास नहीं है ? २. दूसरी बात यह कि सरकार एवं सभी राजनितिक दलों के पास एक लिस्ट होता है मिडियाकर्मियों का ! और उसी लिस्ट में शामिल लोगों को पत्रकार वार्ता में बुलाया जाता है ! फिर यह अनपेक्षित व्यक्ति वहाँ पहुंचा कैसे ? ३. जूता मारने वाला व्यक्ति इराक जैसे पदाक्रांत देश का नागरिक होकर भी अमेरिका जैसे शक्तिशाली देश के राष्ट्रपति पर जुत्ता सफलता पूर्वक चला दिया था या नहीं ? फिर यह व्यक्ति जनार्दन द्विवेदी के इतने पास पहुंचकर भी उन्हें जुत्ता क्यों नहीं मार पाया ? और जुत्ता मारने के लिए पास जाने की जरुरत भी नहीं थी ! दूर से ही काम निपटाया जा सकता था ! ४. और जिस प्रकार का घटानक्रम देखने में आया है उससे स्पष्ट है उस पत्रकार के पास पर्याप्त समय था जुत्ता मारने का अगर वह मारना चाहता तो ! जुत्ता मारने वाले को इतना धैर्य कहाँ होता है ? वह तो नजर आते ही निशाना साध लेता ! लेकिन उसे जुत्ता मारना ही नहीं था ! यह तो एक निहित उद्द्येश्य से कौंग्रेस द्वारा आयोजित किया हुआ एक प्रकरण था ! ५. जुत्ता मारने वाले वाले उस पत्रकार ने प्रेस वार्ता शुरू होते ही जुत्ता क्यों नहीं चलाया ? पहले जनार्दन द्विवेदी ने अपनी सारी बातें निर्बाध रूप से रख ली विस्तार पूर्वक ! बाद में पत्रकारों के तीन सवाल आये ! और जब लगने लगा कि अब जबाब देना मुश्किल हो जायेगा तब ले आओ यह जुत्ता प्रकरण ! इससे सभी मिडिया कर्मियों का ध्यान दूसरे मुद्दे (जुत्ता) पर चला गया ! और बाबा रामदेव का इशु पलक झपकते ही ख़तम ! इन बातों से स्पष्ट होता है कि यह जुत्ता प्रकरण कौंग्रेस द्वारा पूर्व नियोजित था ! उन्होंने जान बुझकर यह षड़यंत्र रचा था ! अब पुनः प्रश्न उठता है कि कौंग्रेस अपने ही किसी नेता की बेईज्जती क्यों करवाएगी ? तो सीधी सी बात है कि आज की तिथि में कौंग्रेस अपने पापों के कारण से मिडिया या जनता का सामना करने की हालत में नहीं है ! और इसीलिए उन्होंने यह पूरी साजिश रची थी ! मुख्य मुद्दे पर कोई पत्रकार सवाल न कर पाए और उन बातों का जबाब देने की नौबत न आये इसीलिए रचा गया था यह जूते की नौटंकी ! यह है कौंग्रेस की जुत्ता राजनीति ! मेरे भारतवंशियों और पत्रकार मित्रों समझो इन बातों को गहराई में जाकर ! कौंग्रेस के इतिहास पर भी नजर रखो और वर्तमान का भी ध्यान रखो ! इतना ध्यान देने मात्र से तस्वीर अपने आप साफ़ हो जायेगा !

On BJP, it is a tragic comedy or comic tragedy, that everytime they do or say something, we have to harp on the past. Of course, there were issues with their government. That is why they were booted out. But now their role is to act as a check on the government. It is their right to expolit the issue politically, and it is absolutely in national interest to do so! If anyone who did something wrong in the past is to shut up, then the Indian political landscape would go on mute. The job of going back to some past issue whenever a new issue comes up should be left with the card carrying members of the various parties, which none of us here are.

I can go on to defend Sushma's right to dance, sing or do somersaults through hoops of fire, but I fail to see its relevance. It is already a surreal experience to see 24*7 newschannels report on this sort of stuff, when much larger issues go without discussion. It'd be a shame to take a cue from these reports and start talking about this, as real issues are swept under the carpet.

रामदेव के रामलीला मैदान से तम्बू उखाड़े जाने को लेकर राजघाट पर बीजेपी ने एक नौटंकी का आयोजन किया जिसमे सुषमा स्वराज ने जम कर रक्श (dance ) किया I बात समझ में नहीं आयी बीजेपी तम्बू उखाड़े जाने का जश्न मना रही थी या मातम I ऋतंभरा का मंच पर होना, उमा भारती जैसी प्रेमरस की साध्वी का रामदेव से सानिध्य होना और हरिद्वार में मुलाक़ात करना रामदेव की राजनैतिक निष्पक्षता पर कुछ सवाल खड़े करता है I यह आन्दोलन आम आदमी के हाथ से खिशक कर विरोधी पक्ष के उन राजनेताओं के हाथ में जाता हुआ नजर आ रहा है जिनको जनता ने पिछले चुनाव में ठुकरा दिया था और वही नेता अब रामदेव के कंधे पर बैठ कर अपनी मंजिल तक पहुचने की फिराक में हैं . यों कब तक कोई लोगों को बरगला सकता है , एक सोचने वाली बात है I

" yeh desh hai veer jawaano ka aleblo ka mastano ka"..then she will continue to do so... simple argument is that country is independent now and we can gyrate to melodious desh bhakti songs as a mark of protest..plz watch out

I have nothing personal against Sushma or any other BJP leader but don't see them substantially distinct from Congress leaders except for their oratory, use of chaste Hindi, advocacy of 'Hindutva' , 'distribution of laddoos' and of course their skill in creating bizarre spectacle by dancing and singing etc. I think, it is the performance and political philosophy of any party which matters more than its oratory.

Vikas, I have already watched this video during a debate on NDTV anchored by Nidhi Razdaan. The way, Sushma was flaunting her patriotic credentials gave an impression that she and her party are the only people who are patriotic and all others are traitors. Why does she need to tell the people that they are true patriots. People are not that fool and have given a suitable reply through their verdict in the last election. It is, however, a matter of one's personal taste, but I did not find her gesture of twisting (even on patriotic songs) on Rajghat in good taste. Being a shadow Prime Minister, she is supposed to behave more graciously.

I am for sure impressed by her oratory skills for a long time. That doesnt mean I support all her performance and philosphy. May be your can present her full report card then I will look into other things.

Sometime you assume too much. However I am sure she would be much better than MMS or SG. At least she can talk. The other ones dont even talk when required they keep mum or speak too late.

Singing and dancing on patriotic songs may not make one a patriot but If one casts aspersions on somebody who sings & dances, surely raises doubt about one's patriotic instincts.

Good Oratory may not make a good leader but lack of 'reasonable' oratory hints on the intellectual bankcruptcy of the person aspiring to be a leader.

Great oratory may not be 'the' ingredient , but intellect is certainly a 'speciality' ingredient of recipe called leadership.
