How much does salary affect in arrange marriage.

Urmila Ji, I disagree respectfully. ''Perhaps'' couldnt be a right word when you infer olden days and associate the strong words like culture with it. Reading your statement is like reading Sukhbir Siwach in TOI. Kindly explain and eloborate, Thanks.

I don't know for sure how it used be i olden days - that is why I used the word "perhaps". Rest, I think, Rakesh jee may be explain, as he made the statement about overcoming the Father- in -Law to take the girl.

O.K here is what I have read (and please don't ask me to show proofs of my readings! - if it makes sense, keep it, other wise throw it in the dustbin, if you like). I am no expert in the matter and I am open to educating myself in this regard. Mitochondrial DNA of many Jat tribes shows it to be common with marginalized sections of society. Mitochondrial DNA, as many of us know, is passed from the mother to the off spring. It therefore appears that the woman in Jat society came from weaker section of the society.

I have also noticed that the paternal DNA of many Indian Jats is shared by people from people living in regions outside India such as the West. This paternal DNA came to India with these travelling people and when they came to India, they took woman by force (such as what Rakesh jee is talking about).

This turned may have turned into a tradition for the purpose of marriage, where the boy and his family consider them superior to the girl's family.
Again, as I said before, please don't ask me to provide proofs - it is just a theory - which may be absolutely WRONG!

Thanks, thats better.

Now, Shivam, Salary doesn't affect much in an arranged marriage. Had it been there wouldn't be a cuckold rich husband in human history. However, it could be one of the various parameters of maping resources for children while arranging an arranged marriage, which is usually done by bride's father. Since the time of pre-history a man is evaluated on - how much he makes for himself and others. It is directly propotional to your societal value. Since our species came a long way from extinction dangers so it is in DNA to look out for an option which has more resources for future generations. Self-prereservation , you know.

I agree with your theory part -going wrong here. Even Einsteen's theory of relativity is proved wrong by Neutrino speed, evidently. However, instances of taking woman by force is not CULTURE which you opined in your earlier post. My objection was up to associating culture word with an exception and isolated incident and that too in conjugational matters. Thats it. Thanks.

Not on a Saturday afternnoon :) Go on - explain yourself.

In Gujjars family of girl used to asked the groom to jump a wall of 8 feet or so, so that they can be sure that he will earn atleast by stealing.(This used to be done a few years ago in Gurgaon)

In SC/ST community family of girl ask groom side to hunt a pig before finalizing marriage if they fail they reject the groom( This ritual is still there)

In Jats still parents of girl use to ask " How much land is there in name of boy?"

Paseene aa gaye angreji likhan mein je ib samajh mein na aawe to mere baski koni samjhana

You are quite ignorant.

How did most of S.America became Spainsh speaking? By bringing woman from spain? Woman were local woman of S. America while men were Europeans.

Not quite but I am damn ignorant.

But again my ignorance needs lights of knoweledge. Was it a CULTURE in Europe too in their own community and country?

Thanks Urmila ji.

Please don't dodge the question in focus - kindly explain what you meant by:
"usne koye susra kite lako le wa awe e awegi"

The Father in Law is hiding the girl because someone (i.e., the boy and his group say family) is looking for her?
