C for Congress, C for Corruption, C for Communalism and C for Crime

The statement of Voltaire quoted in earlier post, may be understood in its proper contextual reference please.

I have made no comment on the issue being discussed but only interrupted the discussion for a sort break for self introspection on the part of participants;

and I have nothing to do with any Manu/jnu or other things.

Thanks.

Ebb baat nai hamesha intni seriously mat lo uncleji, it was said in lighter note from my side after your post. i gave example fo what you said but on serious note aade kisi ne kissi tain bolna tai roka bhi nhi and it was not desired earlier as well.

Indeed Indira could have asked Bhutto to give PoK in exchange of 90,000 of Pak personnel. But she gave into Bhutto's plea that he will be killed if he gave away PoK and his assurance of goodwill. But as we know, Bhutto was killed anyway, hanged by Zia who later was responsible for Kashmiri militancy. We never know why Indira, in spite of her own Kashmiri roots chose to not have the whole of Kashmir.

Indira represented India as PM. Her Sole duty was to SAFEGUARD the interests of her Nation, Not the Bhutto's Life. Which was taken away anyway. Once the PoK was resolved, there would have been no reason for Paksitan to continue. Once Kashmir resolved, they might have also evolved instead of hanging on to the same thing. She could have corrected the mistake done by her father in 1948. Even she chose not to, whatever be the reasons. Now, you tell me what kind of judgement she took? And, if congress maintains similar stance as in the past, how can you think of resolving these issues in the future?

Looking in hindisight, it was certainly a bad decision to let go of PoK at that point in time. No doubt about that.

But Congress or BJP, it will be delusion to think either of them can solve it.

I think we are underestimating the problem if we are just stating it as smart articulation of thoughts. Me and you are both fooling ourselves if we think there is no genuine demand to break-away from the union. The problem is our fear that addressing such a demand will lead to other demands elsewhere, esp North East and will break up the country. So a whole generation of Kashmiris was wasted away, thousands of soldiers died and the country bled billions of dollars and this will continue to happen.

I think you are misconstruing the purpose of a plebiscite. Its not an acceptance of a demand to break-away. Its just an acceptance that such a demand exists and to have a poll to decide if indeed majority of the people want to form an independent nation. Most recently, Quebec, a French-speaking state of Canada, went for a plebiscite around 2003-04 but the separatists narrowly lost and Quebec continues to be a state of Canada.

About Khalistan, plebiscite could have been an option chosen by the central govt if it had the courage. But as always with central govt. it tries to show every political and social issue as a law and order problem and one that can be handled by force. Its only later when force doesnt work, as in the case of Kashmir and Naxals that it thinks of other alternatives.

In my opinion if a plebiscite would have been conducted, the separatists would have lost heavily. There was no popular ground-level support for Khalistan amongst Sikhs and all Hindus certainly supported remaining with India. In fact a plebiscite would have stopped so much blood shed as the results would have quietened down the separatists.

About Telangana, I dont know if a plebiscite is also used for creation of new states within a union. But there is hardly a need as govt in the past has mentioned the demand as justified. The bone of contention delaying Telangana's creation is the position of Hyderabad. Both Andhra and Telangana folks desire it. Maybe it should be made a UT, like Chandigarh.

I dont think that example works here. We cant let a million people die including soldiers, just for preserving what we think is our idea of India. India is made up of the people who love it, not by lines drawn on maps.

I think you and some more people who have understood the kashmir problem completely and anyone who is not underestimating the Kashmir problem unlike me can write this to govt of India { they look for suggestion on different issues from common people akhir aam aadmi ki sarkar hai ye;)}, which is again the ruled by party whose ideology is being supported by people who are not underestimate this issue and many other that this country is facing becasue of congress.

Lekin jibbe likhe to niche ek line likh dena ' ki mujhe pata hai mera suggestion sahi lekin tum mere baat manogey nhi'

Le ye aur dekh le ek JAT bache ki maut bhi siyasat karte hain Jat netao ki, it is an old new but still it is relevant.

(Jat agitation rocks Haryana…)

CHANDIGARH: Around two dozen opposition MLAs were removed from the Haryana assembly forcefully on Friday after noisy scenes on matter pertaining to the killing of a youth allegedly in `police firing'during the ongoing Jat agitation.
Fire brand BJP leader Anil Vij, who wanted a debate on Jat agitation through his calling attention motion, resisted for almost five minutes before the marashals ultimately took away him to leave the house. When the marshals were trying to take him out, INLD MLAs led by former chief minister Om Parkash Chautala's elder son, Ajay Singh Chautala came to rescue him. Though, objecting on the conduct of Ajay Singh, parliamentary affairs minister, Randeep Singh Surjewala demanded action against those MLAs, who were trying to intervene in the action of marshals.

Both sides, opposition as well ruling Congress MLAs, started raising slogans. Holding the government responsible for the problem, INLD and BJP MLAs were raising the slogans like "Lathi Goli ki Sarkar Nahi Chalegi (Dictatorial government won't be allowed to run)". However, holding that INLD responsible for provoking castists sentiments, Congress MLAs started raising slogans like "Bhai Chara Bana Rahega ( Brotherhood would be maintained)" After the ruckus of ten minutes, speaker Kuldeep Sharma stood to say that he would not be a spectator. Then, he started naming the INLD MLAs including younger son of Om Parkash Chautala's Abhay Singh Chautala to be removed from the assembly.
Meanwhile, a minister Satpal Sangwan alleged that an opposition leaded has telephoned the relatives of the deceased youth ( Sandeep), not to remove his body from the railway track, till he doesn't ask them to do so. On this, Congress MLAs started saying "shame-shame". Later, Sangwan alleged that Ajay Singh Chautala has slowly challenged him to "do whatever they want" admitting that "he (Ajay) had phoned (to the relatives)". Two Congress MLAs Sampat Singh and Anand Singh Dangi corroborated the allegation of Sangwan. However, Ajay Singh repeatedly termed the allegations baseless offering to set up a committee to probe the allegations. After the heated debate of one and half hour, remaining MLAs led by Ajay Singh Chautala also walked out from the assembly after the Vidhan Sabha passed a resolution moved by Surjewala against Chautala.

Congress working overtime in the process of clipping the wings of CAG (Comptroller & Auditor General of India).

Afraid of more of its scams coming into the public domain by the future CAG reports Congress is doing groundwork for curtailing the powers of CAG. After all the Congress uses our great constitution as a Rough book/scrap book on which it can scribble anything and then amend it by means of constitutional amendments to suits its political needs.

I am amazed and appalled (both at the same time) seeing the more than spirited defense of this corrupt, criminal and communal Congress by the die-hard Congressies both on JL as well as outside. Day in and day out you see newer and newer examples of Congress' loot of the nation and its highhandedness, yet these Congressies dig their heels so hard for the defense of this morally and ethically corrupt Congress that anyone would be hard-pressed for the reasons behind it.

What is reason for this die-hard support for Congress amongst them despite rampant corruption? I could just think of a few reasons as mentioned below but would look forward to more possible reasons from fellow members.

a) A family member being Congress Neta (at any level).
b) Congress approach/jack/pull helped them get a govt. job.
c) Congress helped them in the allotment of petrol pump, gas agency, etc.
d) For the minorities - Muslim appeasement - muslim reservation, giving preferential treatment to muslims in all aspects.
e) _____
f) _____ etc. etc.

Here is the biggest one that you missed out that holds true in most of the cases because all the reasons you mentioned are true for BJP, SP, BSP etc etc as well:

Lack of a better alternative

i'm having this feeling that BJP is way better than congress after hearing from all the die hard fans of congress despite all that is being done by congress, but there is not dearth of love for congress in there hearts. BJP formed govt once and there level of expectation from BJP was so high that all of them got disappointed even they did a good job but for congress they(congress fan) dont have any expectation and what ever they do is good for them chahe sara desh lut le.

Same thing is in cricket as well, if Tendulkar score 50-60 or even 100 he is not good at all and no alternative to dhoni but Dhoni scoring 30-40 is really good. Dhponi fans explanation just like congressi fans, tendulkar ne match nhi jitwya and dhoni nhi hota to match nhi jita jata. issi tarah BJP ne 6 saal mein saare paap nhi dhoye congress k and sab kuch jaisa vo chahte vaisa nhi hua isiliye there is no alternative

For all who thinks there is no better alternative, alternative banana padta hai apne aap nhi aata aasman se tapak kar.

You are entitled to your opinion, just like the rest. Interestingly, I also thought of Tendulkar before jumping to next paragraph but there is a difference but instead of drawing an irrelevant analogy let me present some relevant facts.

5 Years are enough to show your stand, specially when your partners are not as crazy as UPA has but NDA govt failed to prove itself right. Even if I agree that NDA had limited time to make a difference, how will you justify the following:.

  • Scams that time amounted to a loss of Rs. 49,057 crores to the exchequer(inflation, keep it in accounts)
  • Tehelka sting, the coffin issue, misuse of the Kargil cess and irregularities in purchases made for the Kargil War.
  • Other scams like UTI scandal, the petrol pump/gas agency allotments, the Judev episode and the allotment of plots to organisations close to the Sangh Parivar
  • Sale of BALCO and the Centaur Hotel (Mumbai) could be cited as "blatant examples" of the "loot of the public sector."
  • Farmer suicide became amass
  • Terrorist attacks were more than any 5 year regime of previous government

In my opinion, no party is corruption free. Infact you will not find any institution in the country which is corruption free. BJP did not get enough time to show its colours. In my opinion its the system which make people corrupt. Too much power given to bureaucracts, lack of tranparency and complexity in doing business are few of the main reasons of corruption. I can't see anything in BJP manifesto or in any other party which provides any measures to tackle corruption. That is reforming the system, making it lesser complex and decentalization etc.

Parties like BJP are more busy in sensationalising the issue of corruption and causing disruption for public. Same goes with Baba Ramdev and others. Causing disruption or beating around the bush never help. Country needs measures like RTI not sensationalist news. People should support a party which propose reforms like RTI. Which will not only help in curbing corruption but also help in employing India's rising young population.

BJP ki niti to tere unke5 saal k raaj mein samajh aa gai thi, congress ki smajahne mein kitne saal lega ?? congress aale scam ki list bani nhi hogi tere se isiliye BJP k likh paya sirf tu kyunki unki list ek page pe nhi aa sakti

If only people want to see the good stuff

Besides RTI people are not realising another powerful tool that has already started to step up called Aadhar. Aadhar will enable direct deposit of subsidies, cash in bank accounts of people. Earlier when Rajiv Gandhi said only 10 Rs. reaches to poor of 1000 spend, now 1000 will reach.

I agree with this solution. But again I would say progress is very slow. There is lot of leakage in government schemes and the way government operates. Liberalizing labour laws, liberalizing government processes, reforming bureaucracy etc. List is very long. Reforms must be continous not one off. This is not a culture in India whereas developed countries continously change their system according to time and circumstances.

Yes there is a difference in the politics. Having said that, in the past congress had full majority. The party could have taken those initiatives way back on its own despite any criticism from opposition parties. But they never did.

PS: Also Dynasty in congress is a very bad example for others to follow. You won't find such dynasty developed countries.
Can one ever imagine BJP supporting any Congress policy and vice versa, like Romney did in these elections?

Ummm I differ here. In my opinion Dynasty can not exist in a democracy because the ultimate choice is still in the hands of people. If they do not like the candidate(be it Gandhi or Sule or any surname) they can reject them in the election

Having said that, there are plenty of examples of dynasty politics like Keneddys, Bush, Clinton(his wife now), Bhuttos etc etc beyond India

US is a presidential system whereas India is westminster system. Still in westminister system, Indira ruled like a dictator during emergency. Power got inherited by generations over a long time. You won't find it in developed countries. Gandhi Dynasty is a professionally bad example for anyone to follow.
