Subhash Chand Tomar, the police constable who was seriously injured during the protests at the India Gate on Sunday, succumbed to his injuries at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on Monday. The incident has put the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) under the scanner.

Police say eight people who were arrested on Monday in connection with the injury of the constable were booked for rioting and attempt to murder reportedly belong to the AAP.

All the eight accused were given bail after a bail bond was submitted by AAP member Manish Sisodia. One of those who was arrested has been identified as Chaman Kumar of AAP.

Yes, 78 policemen had been hit, but who had hit those policeman??? The girls and old age ladies on whom police has brutally lathi charged? OR Police unable to differentiate between a girl or old age ladies and miscreant elements who were throwing the stones???

There were 100's of policeman were there. If I was the in-charge there then I had ordered the police official to identify the miscreant element among the peaceful protester and arrest them immediately and take away from them. They were no even more then 50-60 people in total. I would have to allow the protester to do their protest as long as they want in peaceful manner. I would have to try communicate with them continuously and tried to convey them the police limitation as well.

Instead of opening the gate of any communication police has used water cannon and lathi charged them on first day without any provocation.

Only after that other influential group and miscreant element have took the mis-advantage of whole situation.

The police has just shown utter incapability in dealing with a peaceful protest in which on first day the major participant were girls and ladies.



But I know you are such chikna ghada then you'll again comeback and again try to justify the police incapability like any heroism.

I may be a dumb head but surely blind or blindly influenced.

I saw the whole video of protest live and there was not even a single girl/woman among that crowd of people who broke the barricade at north block, the incident that instigated police's violence. Police initially did not get on to lathi charge but water cannon until goons amongst protestors starting pelting stone, due to which Mr. Intelligent Person a constable has died


Also Mr. Intelligent, explain me one thing. What exclusive rights do woman have to hit policeman expecting them not to retaliate? See videos of day 2 when you see a policeman at India gate being harrassed by a woman and he is standing helpless as all media eyes are on him and then there are biased humans like you to blame them.


Remember, 78 policemen had been hit and only 50-60 protesters are injured, one policeman has died due to injury in spite of being equipped where not even one protestor is seriously injured and still you blame the police, SHAME

And please answer, what different would you have done?

Peace full protester were not trying to cross that barricade and they were only protesting at the same place. So where is the question arise to let them and vandalize the public property???? A 47-year-old Delhi Police Constable, who tackled protesters during violent protests at India Gate on Sunday, died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday after battling for life in a city hospital. Subhash Chand Tomar died of cardiac arrest. He had suffered no injuries--internal or external, said a senior official Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

"He died of cardio-pulmonary arrest at 6: 40 am on Tuesday. He was brought to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest and was given CPR. Our bed-side investigations found no gross internal injuries or bleeding and externally also only few bruises on the chest", said Dr TS Sidhu, medical superintendent, Ram Manohar Lohia hospital.

He was on ventilator since his admission at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on Sunday evening.

"With deep regret, we have to inform you Constable Subhash Chand Tomar succumbed to his injuries at 6:40am today," Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said. Tomar, a graduate in arts, hailed from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.

He was posted in Karawal Nagar area and was called for maintaining law and order at India Gate area during the protests on Sunday over the gangrape of a 23-year-old girl on December 16 in Delhi.

Tomar, who joined the police in 1987, was found lying injured on Tilak Marg and was rushed to the hospital.
