Shri Mohanji Bhagwat in his speech says that people with good family values dont let women bow in front of them. View attachment 16225

Yes dear, thats hypocrisy. Well dear, of late some ridiculous statements have been made by VHP leader and RSS leaders. People following them must learn that they do not follow what they preach. They are using Hindu agenda to get votes. I think there is a huge section in India, which feel insecure without them. May be thats why they follow. But time is changing. With new technologies and modernisation, rational thinking is emerging. People will reject irrational ideas ,old beliefs, blind faiths and superstitiousness. So dear, change is inevitable and continous. Don;t worry. More people educate, more people will know.

Cheers.

Dear SALURAM,

Have so seen "Oh My God" movie? If you have not than please watch it. The film depicts clear picture of religious business in India to make people fool.

Thanks U

I could provide you with links of over 1000 (literally) article by eminent writers who believe/claim that Jinnah was secular. And I can complement this with few doctoral theses on Jinnah in political science that eulogizes Jinnah for his secularism.

Yes, in Pakistan, educated middle class revere Jinnah as the messiah for Indian muslim BUT not as a religious nut; rather a secularist who wanted a muslim-majority secular Pakistan. See the subtlety. I understand the inherent irony but that is what people believe. They are quick to point out Jinnah as wine-drinking, non-namaji, clean-shaved, westernized attire and married to a non-muslim (Rattanbai Petit). Further, his speech in Pakistan assembly (you must have read).. "you are free to go to mosuqe, temples; state has nothing to do with your religion, and other bull-shits..." proves that Jinnah was secular in his speech.

In India: even the "communal" BJP leaders have written book on Jinnah's secularism. Historically, till 1942, almost every Indian leader believed Jinnah as a hard-core secularist; after that few blamed him for riots, few others said, Jinnah is right, rest were ambivalent (ignorant).

Lest I am taken wrong, I don't believe that Jinnah was secular, not at all. But me no matters. It is about the popular narrative.

I think scholars take their own view on Jinnah based on their own convictions and views. Certainly a man who started off as an INC member, fond of pork, cigars and his wine cant be a Muslim hardliner. But then his actions post-1920 would hardly make him secular. His intransigence in the lead upto 1947 firmly planted him on one side of the divide.

By the way, you possibly can not know my intentions; you have to be a hell of a psychologist to figure that out. You can interpret my words but not my intentions.

Not your intentions, Jinnah's. You probably got to read that again.

Ideally, I want private jet for me and a bit of weight gain. For India, I wish a homogeneous society, free of caste- religious- discrimination, free of poverty and diseases, better infrastructure, and high quality of life. I also want world-peace!! :very_drunk:

But utopia is too much to ask, so I wish to settle for the second best thing. Yes, I want polarization to increase and saturate resulting in a stalemate. As simple as that.

Of course I am agitated by MIM's antics. Not because it was a hate-speech but because it happens regularly and MIM gets away with it.

No, they are anti-national because they are anti-national. circular logic. And this is how it works: anti-Hindu/anti-minority/anti-dalit/anti-any-caste = anti-national. PERIOD.

As far as MIM, I can go back in History and narrate the Razakars episode but I believe you already know that story. You must also be aware of their rable-rousing speeches, their affinity towards MUSLIM-UMMAH, soft corner towards all muslim terrorists (they always justify their actions), their addressing of Indian parliament (and India) as Kufarstan, more sympathetic towards muslin atrocities in Palestine, Kashmir, Burma than next door victims of Islamic terrorism. Yes, this is what I called ANTI-NATIONAL.

Probably, you do not get what I mean by polarization. I don't mean polarization = Riots + Senseless Killing. There is also a severe religious polarization in Kerala. There is a caste polarization in UP, Bihar, TN, Karnataka and many other states: Does that mean caste-based target killings (and please don't invoke Ranveer Sena here!) ? No.
So, why are you so skeptical about religious polarization? or is it because muslims have shown propensity towards violence in such situations? ;)

I am not mistaken. Of course, majority polarization will defeat the minority polarization or at least will render it (and their worth in electoral voting) moot. It has happened all over the world. Look at the recent Arab-spring: Muslim brotherhood is sweeping... how much is the worth of Coptic Christians votes (they are over 10% in Egypt)? Zilch. Nada. Zero. Nil. Sunay.

Look closer to home. Ever heard that minorities are king maker in democratic Bangladesh? their % was quite reasonable. Did minorities have any say in democratic Pakistan politics?

Why is this? If not the majority polarization, then what explain the worthlessness of religious minorities in most muslim-majority countries (even if they happen to be democratic)? Please enlighten me.

Once again, don't suspect my intentions; they are not necessarily good. :very_drunk: I have grown-up from that awkward immature-unrealistically-idealistic-phase of life.

That is THE point: Idiots don't stop. Otherwise there won't be any idiots. :singing:

Even assuming that MIM will stop using religious hatred against Hindus to garner votes is living in fool's paradise. Once this is settled, what do you propose to deal with vicious MIM? Their hatred is growing each day and influencing more and more people; so, why not cut the crap and go for the broke!?

Well looks like idealistic phase of yours gave way to a cynical phase. I like the idea of countering one kind of evil with another, but it simply doesn't work, not at the national scale. Such extreme polarization is more suited to the developed world where people are capable of exercising restraint and not get carried away based on the political group they support. But in developing countries like ours, there are is already a tinder box huge enough to set the country on fire many times over. So I am glad these the zealots and right-wingers and their supporters are still a minority and that is how it shall remain in my opinion.

[h=5]नरेंद्र मोदी . . .

From what I know girls, even in sanatan dharm, are not allowed to touch feet and it is because they are considered to be a goddess.

Elders please correct me if I am wrong.

Sunil, I was with you till you were agitated with MIM's antics. But not with the polarization medicine. The examples of Bangladesh and Pakistan where minorities are polarized out are fine, but we don't want India to be a Hindu Pakistan, do we? We can't solve a problem by creating a bigger problem.

The gains of polarization are to the few who get easy, unaccountable power. Rajiv Gandhi got the biggest mandate due to polarization (Hindu polarization at that) after his mother's death, despite him being a nobody on his own and till date we are suffering with "born-leaders" with no leadership skills, not only from this dynasty; but copy-cat dynasties all over India. What is there for India to gain from an electorate that is divided on religious/caste lines? Rather, we should ask, who is to gain? Only Owaisi types would gain who'd get the power without any accountability.

If X% of India is voting on polarized lines, the solution lies in minimizing X and not maximizing it.

As far as Owaisi is concerned, he should be booked for hate crime and maybe sedition as well (rather than applying it on poor professors and likes of Arundhati), tried in a court and punished accordingly. It is as simple as that. We know it won't happen as simply and there lies the tragedy. But that is the only solution. Public opinion needs to be built in that direction. It is a good thing that there is a furore on the issue. As far as his audience are concerned, propaganda is always attractive to the masses. Justice system is there to check what all can be done in the name of democracy, one of which is to stop such propagandaists.

Saluramji and Vikas

Its one thing to take cheap shots at politician but it is disgusting and despicable to make the mockery of martydom achieved by soldiers at battlefront. Knowing that our community has a major share manpower who form the frontline defence be it army or BSF.
It could be our bhai, beta or jamai. If these soldiers were not there, our enemies will be beheading us like them. Please show some respect to fallen soldiers.

And how different are you being? Please take some time out to follow threads before passing on personal comments on people you have never interacted with .

None the less no where in any of my post I disrespected the soldier or their supreme sacrifice.
