Swaich,

This is also a good leadership skill that he can present better than others. So far no other CM has come in front of media and delivered speeches like Modi.

Atish, leadership by words? It isn't good leadership skill; its good verbal skill. That's all.

And ain't it sad, the one with the best verbal skills is now the favorite candidate of the internet generation? So much for the informed and knowledgeable Indian youth who have now found a common ground with Bajrang Dal and VHP.

Bhai asli LLM to tu hi hai. Jo ulta chor kotwal ko daante wali baat kar reha hai! :stupid:
Tu ke vakeel lag raha hai?

Khair Vakeel ka to bera ni par CBI te tagda jasus tu hi lagge hai, sapne main bhi congress hi dikhe ke?

Hypothetical logic.

Reality of current times:
Rahul is leader no.2 of a national political party where as Modi is CM of a state with no central responsibility in Delhi, either on Party level or on Govt level

Both have seen best and worst of campaign, Congress won and lost in UP under Rahul and Modi is yet to prove his success outside Gujarat

Rahul is working on ground where as Modi has risen from ground but now engaging in social media PR with cheap tactics

Rahul has a clear future, which until now is assumed by BJPites but Modi's future lies flat with several other PM aspirants in BJP

Rahul gandhi number 2 ni number 1leader haiuski maa ke hisab se but not according to indian people....harr maa ke liye uska beta hi number 1 hota hai....:-)..tere muh se modi ka naam acha ni lagta....tu rahul chalisa padta re....modi ko pm baanne de..

First of all let me say two things(Which Modi said very loud and clear in his recent speech):

1. Government has no business to do a business.

2. Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.

Let me add few more points here:

.
the other important thing he said, we should stop politics of vote bank and should focus on the politics of Development.

Well my apologies, for choosing the wrong words to convey my thoughts.

I think a PM candidate should have more than just words to stake his claim. His growth and development credentials have many loopholes and his non-development aspects leave even more to be desired. The fact that he seems great as a future PM is because we are comparing his vision with others who havent even staked their claim and his words are what the internet generation wants to hear.

apologies not needed dear, yes i completely agree with you that PM should be more than words to stake the claim. If anyone else is there who has vision and have credentials to prove that, i ll change my opinion. The whole problem is that we have a PM who does not speak and another face of congress who is supposedly PM candidate does even talk so how you gone decide? not even a single statement of issues that are of national importance and that happens when people are forced into something that they dont desire :)

That is exactly a bigger tragedy, because others dont speak, someone worse will get elected.

BJP has a habbit of running away from facts. I believe Mr. Katju has presented strong facts here and they should be countered with facts as a reply, not usual cheap words

Some excerpts

Today, 48% Guajarati children are malnourished, which is a higher rate of malnourishment than the national average. In Gujarat there is high infant mortality rate, high women's maternity death rate, and 57% poverty rate in tribal areas.
More than a third of adult men in Gujarat have a body mass index of less than 18.5 – the 7th worst in the country.

Echoing the same question in the blog, business leaders no doubt claim that Modi has created a business friendly environment in Gujarat, but are businessmen the only people in India?

Atish,

I spoke more about growth rates. I am sure you will agree that it is easy to lead an already growing state like Gujarat than a poor state like Bihar but read this:

Bihar beats Gujarat, Maharashtra with 21.9% growth in 11th Plan

I know that growth can not be compared as it depends on size of GDP but I am sure 22% growth in a state which is known for backwardness is even more hard to achieve and the article I have shared looks at 5 year plan, not just YoY.

NEW DELHI: Bihar has been the top performer among the major states in terms of economic growth during the 11th Five Year Plan which ended on March 31, 2012.

According to a Planning Commission report on state finances, only Sikkim and Goa, which are much smaller in size than Bihar, have performed better than the state.
In case of major states, Haryana clocked the GSDP growth rate of 19.5 per cent followed by Rajasthan at 18 per cent, Kerala at 16.9 per cent, Madhya Pradesh 16.8 per cent, Andhra Pradesh at 16.7 per cent and West Bengal at 16.4 per cent.

During the 11th Plan, Gujarat grew at 16 per cent followed by Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh at 15.3 per cent each.

If you look at it, a lot of states are ahead but Bihar stands out for obvious reasons.

Ahem Ahem,

Since Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Gujarat is approx 2.35 times than that of Bihar.

(Bihar 217,814, Gujarat 513,173 link http://planningcommission.nic.in/data/datatable/0904/tab_104.pdf)

Hence, it obvious that on incremental % terms Bihar will look faring better, As Atish has already explained.

But to further make you understand, lemme give a try.

Example: There are two students, comparing their improvement in Maths subject over a year. (and not 5 Yrs)

Desi Jat (is Bihar), Satinder (is Gujarat)

Desi jat has scored 40 out 100 in 1st year. Satinder has scored 80 out of 100 in the first year. (I'm taking twice and not 2.35 times)

Next year

Desi Jat shows 21.9 % improvement, and Satinder shows 16% improvement.

Now the score becomes 48.76 for Desi and 92.8 for Satinder.

Though Desi jat has performed better in % terms, but still very distant from Satinder in absolute terms. Hence we can't say Desi has beaten Satinder. :-)

(In other words: Desi's growth of 21.9% can be matched by Satinder by a performance improvement of 10.95, But to match Satinder's growth of 16%, Desi will have to show a strong growth of 32%, and more than 37.5% or greater growth if i had taken 2.35 into account)

Typical of humorous you, appreciate your basics here.. I have been a student of economics and I get what Atish said and the answer was given in the above post as a reply. Problem is that you, in an race to outbeat the reply are not even understanding the question so let me give it a try in your style.

Suppose Goyat is a faliure and Desi is a student who gets in 80s, we both appoint 2 teachers. All of a sudden Goyat scored 100% in his next exam and Desi improved to 95%, whose teacher would you call more affective and impressive?

Of course the one Goyat had cause he turned a failure into a topper.

Similarly Bihar, one of the most regressive state has seen a turn around and it is all because of a CM, just like Modi, took initiatives and brought state to this level.

Anyone can teach an educated child(Gujarat as a state is much matured) but if someone can teach an uneducated child(Bihar and Biharis) he is the real master

Ye wohi channel hai na jise aap log bikau kahte hai?

बिकाऊ मीडिया कभी-कभी गलती से सत्य भी उजागर कर देता है। अभी देखो ना भोजशाला, मध्यप्रदेश में क्या हुआ? किसी मीडिया ने दिखाया है? ;)

Stainder ka simple example tumhaare samajh mein nahi aaya....tumhari iss post ka logic ek baar phir se padh aur dekh shayad realize kar sake ki kitna illogical hai.....Bihar (a failure according to you) did not score 100% in next exam, rather it's performance improved by a percentage better than Gujrat's but STILL way below than Gujrat in absolute terms...also you should know ki 20/100 se 24/100 laane mein kitna dum lagta hai (which Bihar did) aur 80/100 laane se 93/100 laane mein kitna (which Gujrat did)!!

Kyon political inclination ke chakkar mein apne mathemtics ki knowledge ki kutti karwawe hai bhai !!
