Nice to see that GUJARAT is a scale(benchmark) to check and compare the development of different Indian States and Modi is a scale to leadership of those states... :)

and the good part is that Mr. Hooda (or congress) is talking about DEVELOPMENT now...

Sanjeev, tere bhi shanti nahi kise baat ki bhai,,! ;)

Hooda for pm?

Haryana ahead of Gujarat in development parameters: Hooda

"When my friend Mr Modi came to SRCC in Delhi University, I heard him saying that anybody in Delhi who takes cup of tea, he drinks milk from Gujarat. My dear, per capita production in Gujarat is hardly 500 grams and per capita production of milk in Haryana is 780 grams per person," he said.

Resources mobilisation...It is 96.5 percent in Gujarat, ub Haryana it is 192 percent (in 11th Plan).

Highlighting achievements of his government, Hooda said Haryana has attracted investments to the tune of Rs 60,000- 70,000 crore since 2005 as compared to Rs 41,000 crore between 1996 and 2005.

Whatever you have said may be true, can you provide comparative figures with yours, and others' beloved Gujarat?

1. Bhuppi is not a good speaker!

2. He stammers all the time! Sometimes its hard to understand what he is trying to say!

3. Budget deficit has increased substantially during his tenure.

4. Corruption has increased many folds in his tenure.

5. PSU like HBVN are in big loss. High Court summoned Haryana Govt to do something about it. But no step has been taken so far to get rid of losses.

6. Infrastructure is a shame in Haryana. KMP highway was promised to be completed by 2011 but so far its nowhere to be completed. Gurgaon is another example of poor infrastructure.

7. No efforts have been made to cut red tape and effective administration.

8. Shoddy deals all across. Be it tenders of infrastructure projects or handing land to real estate developers. or Nepotism in recruitment.

There may be many points like these. Bhuppi's performance is good in corruption, nepotism, favoritism and eyewash public etc.

Agar figure milne ke baad tera moonh band hota ho to main tere dwara chalaaye gaye doosre threads me apne figure prastut karne ki jahmat uttha sakta hoon.

Vikas,

For first and second point, you can go through his speeches and will come to know. Its look he is drunk or cannot express himself sometimes.

Rest is all over the web. You will find ample examples of Haryana Government poor jobs. For example, Surat vs Gurgaon. Surat is an example of effective administration and excellent infrastrucure whereas Gurgaon is like a "Dog's breakfast"!

I agree- Gurgaon is in a sad state for infrastructure and it because no one could anticipate the growth it saw and DLF was least bothered about civic amenities. Noida is to me a better option than Gurgaon but what is your take on other cities like Rohtak, Hisar or many others? Even if I keep the numbers aside, what is your take on industrial growth that has taken place and several education institutions that the state has seen in recent past?

Are you kidding me?

Government knew in advance that it is coming. Kushan Pal conviced Rajiv Gandhi to build urban infrastructure there. Then Congress instructed Haryana Govt to liberalise law. It is in government books that Gurgaon is next metro next to Delhi.

Congress formed govt in 2005 and before that development already started in this town. If still Haryana government is so ignorant, who can save people. Haryana Government was proactive in shoddy deals rather than real development. Politicians have made fortune. Infact small time thugs like Kanda made thousands of crores through dodgy deals. ClU was used extensively to favor politicians, builders and top level bureaucrats.(These are all smaller scams comparing what DLF did)

Bigger scam is here:

Gandhi-DLF link: It all started with Rajiv, not Robert Vadra

http://www.firstpost.com/politics/g...arted-with-rajiv-not-robert-vadra-487786.html
First published in 2011, K P Singh describes how Rajiv Gandhi saved him from inevitable arrest and from his staunch enemy Bansi Lal. Rajiv Gandhi helped change archaic laws and provided the first-ever license to a private realty company (DLF). And the partnership didn’t stop.

“I was equally privileged to be a facilitator for numerous other business deals at a time when the Indian economy, under Rajiv Gandhi, was just starting to liberalize and open up to the world. It was like having a front-row seat to an extraordinary event,’’ writes K P Singh. He also writes of how he helped to bring GE as the first BPO Company in the country and his role in helping Rajiv Gandhi while drafting the Congress manifesto on urban development in 1991.

I know Bhuppi did some work and attracted investment in Rohtak to make a permanent base there. But again so much corruption all around. 42 Acres of Land was acquired through HSIIDC to build a memorial of his father. Land was given to builders at a very low rate. Infrastructure projects like building roads etc given to close relatives and knowns.

To your point on Gurgaon, fair Congress did do nothing but Haryana prior to 2005 saw rotational government, why did not other improved the situation. Every one is culprit in the game, why blame one single government which by the way won back to back breaking the long lasting tradition of change. He was acquiring lands on an ongoing basis from 1970, and you think only Rajiv Gandhi or Bhuppi were the hoarders?

Contradictory to your view point, many view KP Singh as a visionary who envisioned Gurgaon in 1970, much before anyone else did. The real signs of development in Gurgaon started in 1997 when GE outsourced its operations to KP Singh's company. Others followed later on and mind you from 1999-2004 was the govt of INLD. So to contradict you, one can say real planning could or should have done by INLD. Congress came in 2005, they could have done a lot later on but failed, but I would not blame them alone for the poor infrastructure in Gurgaon, like you others do.

Well I nowhere said that other governments have done better than congress. I am not debating on those points at all. All I am concerned about is Bhuppi's false claims of development and his weasel words on development. Its a fake story. I am not going to buy it.

They are numbers, how can they be false?

And how do you then buy Gujarat's development story and ignore the malnutrition in the state?

Read this excerpt on Gurgaon issue:

This describes situation 1997 onwards

Ordinarily, such a wild building boom would have had to hew to a local government master plan. But Gurgaon did not yet have such a plan, nor did it yet have a districtwide municipal government. Instead, Gurgaon was mostly under state control. Developers built the infrastructure inside their projects, while a state agency, the Haryana Urban Development Authority, or HUDA, was supposed to build the infrastructure binding together the city.

And that is where the problems arose. HUDA and other state agencies could not keep up with the pace of construction. The absence of a local government had helped Gurgaon become a leader of India's growth boom. But that absence had also created a dysfunctional city. No one was planning at a macro level; every developer pursued his own agenda as more islands sprouted and state agencies struggled to keep pace with growth.
