And that is not a good news for BJP because congress is known to tackle allies well, more than BJP and after Modi it will be a tougher job

If this will be final tally of next year election then most probably we will see another general elections in 2015 or 2016. Its not possible the third front will support BJP . With 147 Mps Congress will require almost equal number of MPs to form govt , which seems difficult also because most of non NDA or UPA parties will contest election with anti congress agenda and will not accept and Congress PM . BJP have chances only if they can stretch their tally between 190 - 200. Then only they will form the govt ... In this horrible scenario the sinking India growth will sink completely . I will prefer Congress then third front any day any time .. They(theives) are still better then the rule by bunch of dacoits and plunderers .
Did you read closely that SP and BSP are not in UPA, those 40 seats are a given to congress making it 190-200.
Again debate goes back to same place, BJPs policies are any different than congress. NO

In order to force SP and BSP congress requires current strenght again ... I dont think with 147 seat they have power to force SP or BSP along with them both Mulayam and Maya want to be PM of India ... This will not be possible ... and if Congress will get just 130 seats then there will be no UPA just a third front 
SP and BSP will never vote for BJP and they will never become PMs, so le de ke unka sahara bachi Congres.

neither they vote with eachother the only and only exception this time is CBI for one its more income and for second its Taj Corridor ...thats what i am saying the creepy thing will be Mulayam singh or Maya as PM with the support of Congress ...and Secularism is just a election issue and majority of regional parties and power hungry so if BJP get more then 190 then the game will be diff .... again i am saying it will be better to have a Congressi PM then third front one ...its like choosing less worse among worst and who knows may be after the elections of these 5 states things will become diff may be Congress bounce back highly unlikely or BJP will become only option .

I feel, congress will not allow BJP to form govt, it might support small party to form govt, secondly not many small parties would be keen to support BJP, rest any thing can happen in politics specially when we have greedy, unprincipled and baseless leaders in our nation

You will be surprised with SP and BSP, BSP might swing but SP wont and if Modi is PM then 100% it wont.

teri iss prob.. ka hai eek solution bata deta hu..mulayam singh jaaan kar cm nahi bana coz starting se uski nazar pm seat pur thi...but agar bjp ki 200+ seat aa gaye to bjp wale usse cabinet minister bana deenge....n aise hi koi ministry mayawati ko ddee deenge agar uski seat aayi to....politics mai koi kissi ka permanent dushman ya dost nahi hota
Here is what my problem is with this news snippet- it does not tell you where will those seats come from. CNN IBNs poll tell you clearly state wise how will the impact be, this news clipping published in some anonymous news paper is just a fabrication of someone's agenda not reality
I happened to see this opinion poll on CNN IBN - all 5 days last week, 2 hours each. Really good debates and comprehensive coverage of key states. Consensus seems to be Congress is going out. Poll shows 140-150, but commentators acknowledged that momentum is against Congress. Another point made was that if Congress tries to cling to power using a rag-tag coalition despite being humiliated in the polls, it would be quite a shameful thing to do. Another thing that comes out is that BJP is doing well in some states without any Modi effect - like sweeping MP just because of SS Chauhan. Apart from Gujarat, no state seems to be benefitting too much from the Modi wave. Swapan Dasgupta felt that Modi effect will come as campaigning starts. Now Modi may add to it in the next few months, but he needs to add more seats than the seats of allies he subtracts. Eventually, he needs to take NDA beyond 200+ with Jaya sweeping TN with 30 seats or so, to become the PM.
Quite possible...if BJP touch 200... No one can stop NDA... others (70 odd MPs) will fall in line to enjoy the power .. These may be X or Y or Z....
However, but if 170 then .... There may so many PM candidates... and real Politics will be played there...

It will be interesting to see who will make the Govt if NDA reach to 200-220 (my perdiction is 190, +/- 20 seats). It looks certain that UPA will lose seats and should be around 140 (+/-20). That leaves third front with close to 170-180. I think congress will try to keep BJP out and will be ready to support third front from outside. Then Mulayam will have a real chance.
Another alternate could be BJP declare Advani as PM and gets in more allies like Mulayam and form a govt with them (that way Mulayam would be able to clear the cases against him as well). However this will depend on whether they declare Modi as PM before the elections or not (which probably they will).
