In a recent event Modi said that Bhagat Singh was sent to Andaman Jails when in fact he was lodged in Delhi.

How dumb is that? And people still think he is smart enough to lead the country under the name of patriotism?

If BJP will come in power and use the expertise of the new security experts ..i think they can make Indian security far more robust then its current state ..... I personally like Ajit Dhoval and VK Singh as honest and experts in their field . Sanjeev Tripathi ex RAW can help them to tackle Pak more efficiently ...hopefully RAW will get some teeths under BJP rule

Modi ko konse Quiz competition mein part lena hai ... they have to convey the message and which is crisp and clean and ruling party is unable to convince people about their achievements .... and thanks to Anna Hazare and the way congress reacted against him in 2010 .... at that time only they lost their credibility and shown their arrogance to whole country and will pay the price in coming 2 months ... I can say a bunch of lawyers have ruined the grand old party of India ( Kapli Sibbal , A. Singhvi , S Khurshid and offcourse Chidambram )

All the parties are after Narender Modi, they want to stop him, simple reason : when a poor man son rises and remains honest and bold then he do a lot for the poor and villagers, all the other party are headed by purely sahari man and son/daughter of high class society person. Modi has experience the life of a village poor , tea vendor , then educated and strong administrator. If we see the history : USA Abrahim Lincon ( Great Man of world) was USA president,
Abdul Kalam and now Narender Modi. We should not think on party line , We need to think of person who can understand
A villager
A poor tea vendor
A poor labour - Modi himself belong to Teli community. ( Most Backward Community)
and can know the business.

Why we hesitate to give chance to the son of a poor villager.

Why we should be jealous if today he is powerful person

India's neighbours particularly Pakistan and China do not want a strong leader heading our nation. They would be more than happy to continue with the spineless Congress or an equally spineless third - front.

What can be more shameful that MPs of a sovereign and independent nation write to the President of another country (USA) to not issue visa to a democratically elected and re-elected CM of an Indian state. These rascals should be tried for treason. I cannot think of depth to which their conscience has fallen/gone.

And yet, there are people amongst us throughout this country who support such rascals and their political parties.

Thanks Rajpal ji for posting this. It is very entertaining to see the barbaric Pakistanis pee in their pants just at the thought of Modi becoming the PM.

Gujrat provides 24hour 365 days electricity. Is that correct or just hype ?
If it is true on what basis congresssi here are opposing him ?

modi is now wooing muslims for votes.......what a shame,.........such people can go to any extent to remain in power...........Gujarat riots blot will not be cleansed so easily..........just apology won;t work.......he must be sent to jail for his sins....

So you are saying that a person need not know the history of the country to lead one?

Come on Sumit, I expect an intellectual debate from you not an emotional one.

Even I have visited Gujarat and I am witness to the all round development in Gujarat with 24 hour electricity.

Just about everyone, be it farmer, industrialist, teacher, etc. can walk down to the govt. department with any idea/suggestion/feedback and it is acted upon promptly. At the same time, the govt. is open to innovative ideas from the public if they are workable and if they are for the common good of the people and of the state.

Fair enough , we have to raise the standard of discussion other then this pity miscroscopic analysis , my expectation were also high from you .... knowledge of history is imp but not necessary to rule , intellectually our congress has sold 22 acres of prime land near rashtarpati Bhagwan to DLF just to pacify national damad , Augusta Westland they purchased those choppers which were rejected by Obama due to their high price , due to their negligence we have lost one submarine , a new scam of rolls Royce is going to be the biggest in defence as this company is providing aircraft engines to max number of Indian fighter aircrafts ..

A respected Naval Chief took the responsibility and resigned and no one in govt was even able to accept their negligence ...... I don't think any Indian with some self respect want this govt to ever return to power

The article below makes for an interesting reading. While protagonists from all sides blame the media for championing Congress and BJP agendas (paid or unpaid), what role has the media played in Gujarat to tow the govt's Hindutva line.

A newspaper reader’s local hero

The fact is that opinion in no Gujarati paper goes against the broad idea of Hindutva

One morning some years ago, Gujarat’s residents found a newspaper on their doorsteps. They hadn’t subscribed to it, and it carried a vaguely familiar masthead. It was called Gujarat Satya Samachar, to make it resemble the state’s largest circulated newspaper, Gujarat Samachar.
It was produced by Gujarat’s information department (a portfolio held by chief minister Narendra Modi) and contained reports of the state government’s achievements. The belief was that the local media was either suppressing stories about government successes or was critical of Modi to the point of antagonism. Explaining the phenomenon, one report said the “newspaper-like supplement first appeared last year as Modi’s answer to a section of the local print media. Its masthead and layout were styled after a leading Gujarati daily, seen as a vehement critic of the Modi government.
“The publication has since seen two more issues, and sources indicated that it might run as a fortnightly publication till the coming general elections.”
Actually, the paper did not continue for that long and didn’t need to. There has been little internal opposition to the ideas of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and to Modi in Gujarat from the media.

Gujarat dailies support Modi and Hindutva

Gujarat Samachar is believed to be a trenchant critic of Modi’s but you would not see that in its pages. I know because I edited the second largest newspaper of Gujarat, Divya Bhaskar.

The fact is that opinion in no Gujarati paper goes against the broad idea of Hindutva. And this has always been the case. Though the proprietors might harass the political parties for a little shakedown every now and then (Gujarati newspapers will often refuse to carry reports of rallies unless parties send them a “gift”), the content is broadly in agreement with the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
The two most popular columnists in my own paper were Chandrakant Bakshi and Gunvant Shah. Bakshi died a few years ago, but Shah is still around. Introducing him in an interview to news portal Rediff.com’s readers a couple of years ago, journalist Sheela Bhatt put it this way:
“Much before Narendra Modi became chief minister, Gujarati writers, hundreds of religious gurus, rich and powerful religious sects, had turned against the Congress establishment. In the universities and colleges ‘anti-Congress’ emotion was widespread. Saffronism has followed anti-Congress emotions.
“Amongst the popular writers Chandrakant Bakshi and Gunvant Shah were a craze amongst the young generation in the 1980s and 1990s. They wrote on Somnath and Mahmood Gazni, on regional deprivation and spoke of Gujarat’s pride. The writers like them and religious sects have contributed majorly in shaping the mindset of Gujarat’s last two generations.”
This is accurate and it is difficult to understate the influence that such writers have had in a state that is very urban, and where newspapers exert an enormous influence.
I should say Gujarati newspapers because English ones aren’t relevant in a state where few know English. Between Gujarat Samachar (4.4 million readers),Divya Bhaskar (3.5 million) and Sandesh (3.3 million), the three big Gujarati papers reach more than two-thirds of Gujarat’s adult urban population.
The Times of India in comparison has 300,000 readers in Gujarat. My theory, and I have written about it here before, is that it is difficult to spread liberal ideas without English in India.

Bakshi, who was a good friend of mine, was so enamoured of Modi that he said he trembled in excitement when he heard the chief minister speak. Though he was a literate man, and quite well-read, Bakshi could not wrap his head around why Gujarati actions in the riots were criticized when it was so clear “that Muslims started it”.
Gujarati newspapers are this way because there is a consensus in the readership. It is difficult to overstate the antagonism among Gujaratis against Muslims. After Modi, this has extended to antagonism against all who do not agree with such hateful thinking. It will take readers aback to know that the word “secular” is used as an allegation in Gujarati. To be that is to hate Hindus and love Muslims.

In May 2002, the Editors’ Guild of India published a report on the findings of its three-man team (B.G. Verghese, Dileep Padgaonkar and me) on the behaviour of the media during the riots in Gujarat.

The report said: “The mischievous role of certain Gujarati newspapers cannot be glossed over. Some of them have been named for irresponsible and unethical journalism in the past but have regrettably learnt nothing and forgotten nothing. Wilful incitement to offence, propagation of hate and fuelling disorder are criminal offences. We accordingly suggest that a high judicial officer be appointed by the government to examine the writings of those sections of the media that are prima facie in flagrant violation of the law…”
Nothing was done of course, and the Gujarati newspapers are lined up behind their hero, who has no need to put out his own propaganda in that state.

Same in Chennai, TN. Plus no communalism/secular appeasement. Amma for PM!

Of course, Jayalalitha is a potential PM candidate propped up by the loosely cobbled third front.

But then, people will decide who is a better leader to govern this country and regain the lost pride of this nation.
