Here is Dr. D R Chaudhary on the recently concluded elections and prospects of various political parties in the battle of ballots due in October;
........ In Haryana a sharp caste cleavage was seen during the elections not only in the seats contested by the HJC but also in the state as a whole. The desperate attempt of the Congress to woo the Jats by giving them a share in the Central and state services proved counter-productive. It angered the high castes and alienated the OBCs as they feared a cut in their quota by the resourceful Jat community. This led to a total eclipse of the Congress in western UP, Delhi Dehat and Haryana with the merciful exception of one seat in Haryana.

The warriors in the electoral battle will have to start the fight anew soon as assembly elections are due in October. The BJP is almost certain to dump the HJC after its miserable performance in the elections. It has two options before it — an alliance with the INLD or to make a bid to come to power on its own. After winning in 53 assembly segments out of 90, there is a growing pressure from its rank and file to go solo in the assembly polls. Secondly, the local BJP leadership is wary of the INLD after the bitter experience of facing humiliation while sharing power with it in the past. When the Jats of western UP and Rajasthan have embraced the BJP, why should their counterparts in Haryana treat it as untouchable?
There will be multi-cornered contests among the BJP, the Congress and the INLD. The Left would give a symbolic fight. Arvind Kejriwal's AAP made a promising beginning but met with a dismal end. If it succeeds in building somewhat effective organisational structure in the state and relate its concept of Swaraj to the ground reality in Haryana, empowering the Gram Sabhas to have an effective say in setting up liquor vends and running public utility institutions like government schools and basic health centres etc, it can also join the fray.
Much would depend on the performance of Modi's government at the Centre as it would have a direct effect on the neighbouring Haryana. Leaving aside Modi's plethora of pious platitudes and seductive rhetoric, if he fails to tackle corruption, rising prices, insufficient job opportunities, security of women and such other problems, anti-incumbency is likely to set in against the BJP which would help the Opposition in Haryana.

Non-Jat polarization doesn't happen in western Uttar Pradesh. In Amroha - Jatav,Jat and Yadav voted for bjp candidate; in Muzzafarnagar - all Hindus voted for BJP's Jat candidate. In Bijnor and Fatehpur Sikri, Jat voted for Jat candidates of BJP. There was a large consolidation in favor of BJP in Uttar Pradesh, otherwise you can't win 73 seats. There are 4 Jat MPs from western UP(excluding Hema) compared to 2 in last parliament and he is talking about non-Jat mobilization there. Non-Jat polarization is limited to few constituencies of Haryana. Even in Faridabad, most of Jat voters voted for BJP candidate. BJP got large number of Jat votes in other constituencies of Haryana too.

In a Shakespearean Tragedy famous lines appear : To be or not to be, that is the question......

It applies aptly to describe the status of BJP-HJC alliance in Haryana whose supremo Kuldeep Bishnoi continues to run from door to door of the BJP Leaders to keep his alliance intact till next Vidhan Sabha elections and thus salvage his lost ground in the recently held Lok Sabha Elections and aspire to become CM of Haryana riding on the shoulders of BJP 'wave'.

Next couple of months would be very interesting for deciding the fate of many a political leaders and political parties in Haryana.

Kindly keep an eye on the situation and share your views and post your comments on these issues here.

a non-jat CM is predicted this time for haryana. This not likely that jats votes will go in consolidtion..those will get scattered among INLD and Congress definitely..and there is a very strong position of non-jat politics this time

Share the name of the non-Jat CM as is predicted this time in Haryana!!!

It is learnt that Congress party had informally agreed about two years ago that its next CM in Haryana would be a non-Jat - Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav being the main contender. After Current CM (B.S. Hooda) came to know about this thinking of the Congress high command, he immediately changed the portfolio of Capt. Ajay Yadav as Power (Electricity) Minister. Purpose behind this trick of Hooda was simple - let Yadav be defeated in next election! Haryana state has acute shortage of electricity, so, how can the Electricity Minister (A.S. Yadav) achieve the target of 24-Hour electricity supply? Naturally, public may not vote for a failed Power Minister in next Assembly elections.

But this plan of Congress (for a non-Jat CM) may not work now because, in changed political scenario, Congress is not likely to come back in next Assembly elections in Haryana, due in October 2014.

Pity non-Jat Congress CM move aborted pre-mature !!!

The next non-Jat CMs in line:

Rambilash Sarma, Kuldeep Bishnoi, Rao Inderjeet Singh, Gopal Kanda, Ranbir Sharma,

Venod Sharma, Ashok Tanwar, Kumari Seilja, and so on.

hahahahah.....gopal kanda??....vinod sharma...?? ashok tanwar???...kumari seilja....???....aapne yeh naam seriously likhe hai ya aap bhi kabhi-kabhar mazaak karte ho............I don't think there is any strong name apart from rao inderjit singh in this list

Bhai, ramvilas Sharma is also a strong contender (if bjp comes in majority). If inld does not go in alliance with bjp, it would be a tough fight. Being assembly elections, jats may vote strategically despite modi wave.

Recent pronouncements from Anil Vij, Ambala Cantt MLA, BJP also new addition to ever increasing list of the aspirants of the post of CM.

I have given the names floating in the political circles here and there ! Add, Anil Vij also to it who says BJP has been making CMs in Haryana so far, this time our own CM.

BJP declare their CM candidate, so in haryana also they will follow the suite. Ofcourse people will vote strategically, modi wave will be there, but it would more on the basis on local issues and candidate selection.

Not sure, but congress may project birendra singh this time.

Seem little chance for Ch Birendra Singh to be considered for this much coveted post in spite of his efforts since the days of Rajiv Gandhi to get it !

B S Hooda is there as Jat face of the Congress C M as of now.

If non Jat is presented by the Congress, Ashok Tanwar, the team mate of Rahul may be projected.

When and whom ?

BJP has not declared any one as of now as their CM Haryana candidate.

Ramvilas Sharma is nourishing the aim of becoming CM Haryana since 1998 but fate has prevented him even from becoming an MLA in the last three/four attempts from Mahendergarh constituency which he earlier represented. But then, who knows what is in store for him this time, we will have to wait and see as everything is possible in politics !

It seems the choice of candidates by various political parties during the assembly elections would seal the fate of 'wave' and very interesting battle of ballot would be witnessed !
