Chandigarh, Aug 1
The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) today declared its first list of 62 candidates giving representation to youth, women, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes (BCs).

The list, which has the 'blessings' of convicted INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala and released by state INLD president Ashok Arora and senior leader Abhey Chautala here today, contains the names of 15 sitting MLAs while three MLAs have been dropped. "The list also contains names of 13 SCs, 12 BCs, 11 youths and 10 women and is representative of the Haryana society," Arora said.
Abhey Chautala will recontest from the Ellenabad Assembly segment and Arora will defend his Thanesar seat. Prominent among the nominees included Jaswinder Sandhu (Pehowa), Rajya Sabha member Ranbir Singh Prajapat (Nalwa), Kulbir Beniwal (Adampur),Jagdish Yadav (Kosli), former minister Jagdish Nehra (Hodal) and former Deputy Speaker Gopi Chand Gehlot from Gurgaon.
The sitting MLAs, who had been re-nominated though some of them from different constituencies are: Rajbir Singh (Mullana), Parminder Dhull (Julana), Kali Ram (Safidon), Bishan Lal Saini (Jagadhari), Raghbir Singh (Badhla), Ganga Ram (Pataudi), Naseem Ahmed (Ferozepur Jhirka), Mohammand Illyas (Punhana), Subhash Chaudhary (Palwal), Narinder Sangwan (Gharounda), Pardeep Chaudhary (Kalka), Pirthi Singh Numbardar (Narwana), Hari Chand Midha (Jind), Mamu Ram Gondar (Nilokerhi), Dilbagh Singh (Yamunanagar).
However, the sitting MLAs Krishan Lal Kamboj (Israna), Dharam Pal Obra (Loharu) and Krishan Lal Panwar (Rania) failed to find a mention in the list. Raj Singh Mor, husband of sitting MLA Saroj Mor (Narnaud), was allotted ticket from the same constituency while Indri MLA Ashok Kashyap's wife Usha Rani got ticket in his place.
Arora and Chautala made it clear that the party would not enter into alliance with any other party. "However, talks with our natural ally SAD, which was allotted two seats in the 2009 Assembly polls, were on", Chautala said.

Fissures in Panipat BJP to the fore

Panipat, August 1
Infighting in the BJP’s district unit came to the fore today when several local leaders levelled allegation against district party president Gajendra Saluja of “ignoring” them.
“Saluja did not want a few leaders and workers to meet a central party team that visited the city today to zero in on the candidates for Assembly segments in the district. So, he excluded their names from a list of 126 workers that met the team,” alleged Rajiv Ahuja national executive member of the BJP Vayapar Cell.
The three-member team, comprising Kurukshetra MP Raj Kumar Saini, Mahila Morcha national vice-president Rosy Malik Anand and former MLA Ramesh Kashyap, held separate meetings of workers of the four Assembly segments — Israna, Samalkha, Panipat rural and Panipat city.
A ticket aspirant from Panipat city, Ahuja alleged that district BJP president had deliberately excluded the names of those party leaders and workers who were not close to him.

All the Ahirs are expert in drama, it can be MYS , Inderjit Ahir - he switched over to BJP in last minute for his benefit and not for Public / country, Ajay Ahir did a lot of drama during Maruti Strike to malign the Jat community. Ahirs are the most anti Jat community.

For Jat alone is tough but they should find political parteners in other community .

No single caste/community alone can form government in multi-caste,multi-ethnicity and multi-cultural Indian democracy. So, no single caste only based political party can thrive on its own and every political party looks for allies across the caste, class, community, faith and region.

Captain Ajay Yadav justifies his withdrawal of resignation from Haryana cabinet. Read the Tribune for his tirade against Jats before Sonia Gandhi, who gave him patient hearing and assured to take necessary action in due course of time:

http://www.tribuneindia.com/2014/20140803/haryana.htm

Some extracts from the Tribune report for your ready reference ---

Interacting with media persons after addressing a workers’ meeting at his residence in the Model Town locality, Yadav said he apprised Sonia Gandhi during their 20-minute meeting of discrimination being committed by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda against the people of the Ahirwal region in terms of government jobs.
Yadav said he raised the issue of appointing a non-Jat leader as chief minister and said he was most eligible for the post, having remained an MLA for 25 years. “She assured me that the party would consider the demand for appointing a non-Jat chief minister, but for now, the party must go to the polls with Hooda in command,” he said.
“Apart from government jobs, I expressed my resentment over non-fulfillment of my long-pending demand of setting up a government medical college in the Rewari region. I urged Sonia Gandhi to extend preference to non-Jat politicians in the state as the Jat reservation issue had affected the party in the Lok Sabha poll,” said Yadav.

He added, “Sonia Gandhi listened to me patiently and assured me of resolving all grievances. Thereafter, I decided to remain a Cabinet minister.”

Friend,

How is Mr OP Chautala eligible for CM post when in current circumstances he can't even fight elections?

Friend,

His appeal against the lower Court Decision is pending in the High Court and he is fully eligible to contest the elections as of today.

Thanks and best wishes

Friend,

Kindly enlighten me if I have missed anything. AFAIK, he has appealed in higher court, but sentence is not yet stayed by the high court. How is he fully eligible to contest elections?

As per section 8 (3) of Representation of People Act, 1951, a person convicted of any offence and sentenced to imprisonment for not less than two years shall be disqualified from the date of such conviction, and shall continue to be disqualified for a further period of six years after his release.

As per section 8 (3) of Representation of People Act, 1951, a person convicted of any offence and sentenced to imprisonment for not less than two years shall be disqualified from the date of such conviction, and shall continue to be disqualified for a further period of six years after his release.

Kindly note that Shri O P Chautala happened to be MLA of Haryana on the day of his conviction so this section does not apply to him. His appeal against the decision of the lower court is in Delhi High Court and till his appeal is finally disposed off/rejected, Section 8 [4] of the Act is applicable in his case.

So he is fully eligible to date to contest election for MLA seat/or MP as per this provision in people's representation Act.

Hope this satisfies your query.

Thanks and best wishes,

Thanks friend. However I still believe that being member of legislative he can hold his mla position, but isn't clear to me that he can fight elections just as he has appealed in upper court. The clause "being chosen as" is not clear enough. Plz enlighten further.

Friend,

There is no iota of doubt to what I have said earlier as my reply is based on the information given on the website of Law Ministry of Government of India.Log Link given in my earlier post and read the three lines at the beginning of Section 8 [4] page 69.

Everything will be crystal clear to the reader on study of the section that the bar or disqualification clauses given in earlier lines/subsections remain suspended till the final disposal of the appeal in such cases as we are discussing.

Thanks and best wishes.

If the present ruling party implements some of the good provisions of the manifesto, it would be good for the people of the state.
