After going through rally of arguments, it took me a while to decide whether I should join this debate at all. But, eventually I feel I must.
The discourse on communalism is one thing. But, supporting Israel in its act is entirely different. And, most of the participants just try to induce similarity of perpception in what is happening in the Middle East with that of the communal history of the Indian sub-continent. I think those who find themselves good enough to argue in favour of acts of Israel, must take a look of the fact that grave humanitarian crises has emerged in Gaza. And, it has not weakened the will of Hamas to strike nor it has solved Israel's security problem. Only the threats have increased on either side with uncountful miseries on Palestenian children and civilians.
Killing is easier after all best of the enemities are served across the fence. In our villages there are countless Israel v/s Palestine situation (not only communal but, between castes and even between gotras, not speak between borthers too) where revengeful murders happen over the decades. Now, whom should you encourage to be Israel when this happens in your own village. I bet you would go for pacifying the sides rather asking each of them to be like Israel.
So, some sensibility should prevail. There is UN resolution that recognizes the state of Palestine and Israel has acted against the freedoms of the Palestine state and its citizens. I am afraid a total ignorance of the facts has motivated to take biased view of the current conflict, which only is a jeopardy of being a post-modern using education to sugar coat acerbic biases together.
best,
