First of all, lets not credit Mars mission to Modi. It was a UPA govt initiative. Second, Mars mission project is a good example of money spent well. Because it strenghens country's framework for science and technology which is the future. On contrary, spending huge amount of money on statue is like money going down the drain. These statues should be last priority. Ironically it first priority for a govt which boast about so much about governance. On one hand you have people struggling for food and shelter, farmers committing suicides and on the other hand this sheer waste of money! God save such country!

My friend you are wrong. Secularism has nothing to do with this topic. This topic is all about fair share my friend.

If that is a case my friend then how come state is missing basic facilities. Now don't say there is too much corruption. Corruption is in every state my friend i.e all over India.

Where is more money? If a natural calamity hits a state then money must be allocated accordingly. Here we are talking about getting the priorities right my friend. Government priority must be spending money responsibly and spend money on the welfare rather than spending on statues. Also poverty creates a state weak and vulnerable. So there are more chances of state becoming weak further.
1. A saw a touch so mentioned it.
2. There are many states missing basic facilities, J&K is far better than those. It would have been good to see your concern for those states as well.
3. Was it known as time of declaring funds for statue that floods will cause havoc in J&K? Is not this comparison vague?

No, this comparison is not vague or irrelevant. As mentioned there are poor states in India where this money could have been channeled. Unfortunately thats not a case at all. I don't mind if this money is spent on some other poor states where it is required most.

UPA ne cancel kyu nhi kia fir? It was in power when this was done? Whats the reason that previous government was not able to do so? Why states are poor when your favorite party was in power for so long?

Have you gone insane ?.....where the hell in his post he has given credit to modi for mars mission.Hold on your horses otherwise you could end up in asylum due to this Modi phobia

@VK

S.P statue ke sath Indian Govt ka koi lena dena nhi hai. It's Gujarat govt. And Modi ji started it when he was cm of Gujarat. Budget main $200 donation diya gaya tha isko bas. Baki fund Gujarat govt. and waha ke log donation collect kar rhe hai.. 5-7 saal or lage ge isko banne main.

LT&T ne $6000 main contract liya ab isko banne main. But J&K flood and Statue different case hai. ....

sarkar ne jabardasti wo land require ki hai ass pass ke log bahut pareshan hai or naraj hai is project se per gundaraj main kiski chalti hai.

At that time, money was not committed by UPA govt. Gujarat govt was funding a major proportion of it. But after Modi govt assumed power, you see how quickly this govt got into motion to get the political mileage. The estimate time to get this statue built will be in another 2-3 years time, so that govt can reap that political benefits when elections are nearby. Its a forward planning for elections my friend.

My friend I have seen people crediting Modi for successful Mars mission. On several social networking websites, you will see people such examples. Anyway I am not that fussed about it. The main thing is getting priorities right. Spending money on welfare must be the priority for govt not statues.

Wasting money on kashmiris is no way spending on welfare. There are enough avenues for welfare elsewhere. Kashmiris are asking for independence and referendum, to bolster their claims, the least they could do is become self-reliant. For once, they should work instead of getting trained in jihadi camps in Pakistan, and enhance their claims towards freedom instead of begging all the time.

I agree that people need to work hard and govt must enable people to be skilled enough. However one has to consider the fact that Kashmir is a disputed territory. It is struck in between two heavyweights and Kashmir is paying the price for that. That is why this place could not progress much as there was never a good infrastructure development and progress.

You are painting a too pitiable picture of kashmiris. They have better infrastructure than most of UP and Bihar. And if they are stuck between two heavyweights (though I doubt how Pakistan can be called heavyweight if India is a heavyweight) - too bad, that is life, they should learn to live with that, and not pelt stones on the very people who are there to help them. And if they can't learn, than they shouldn't go around with a begging bowl in their hands. Same holds true for their promoters.

Let people be free to decide their own fate. A country must not use muscle power to crush any freedom.

Then "a country" shouldn't "spend on welfare" as well! Let people, "decide their own fate!"

So people like as you want to give it to Pakistan. Really???????????

Where did I say that?

No my friend, I am not painting any pitiable picture. It is the reality. Kashmir still lacks infrastructure, Kashmir sill lacks education and basic amenities. Of course Pakistan cannot be called heavyweight compare to India but Pakistan is also big enough for Kashmir to handle the pressure.

Spending a fund of Rs 3000 crore for a statue is not at all a good decision in a country like India. We have lot other areas where this money can be used. Not only Kashmir but we have many national level problems like poverty , public hospitals , schools, child welfare , advance armed for forces , agriculture area , Infrastructure , a long list of areas where this amount can be used.

Read your comment brother. If you feel Kashmir as a part of India you wouldn't mind to spend money there. Anyway you better know your thought about Kashmir.

I felt so because your said why we wasting money on kashmir, we don't need to feed them. Wasie her koi aap jasia sochta tho kab ka baccha khuccha Kashmir bhi pakistan ke pass hota...

Hazro logo ne jaan ki kurbani deke abi tak isko india ka part banye ke rhaka hai.

Unki jaan in pasio se jayda hai ya kam?

Come on dear brother, ager ye parwaha hi na hoti kashmir ki to yu hi hazaro ko kyun marne dete waha. Please change your thinking about Kashmir
