Recently a petition has been filed by one Shakti Singh in the Punjab & Haryana High Court against the Haryana Govt. announcing reservation for Jats and others.
In the present circumstances, instead of just defending against this petition and in the time to come, in the Hon'ble Supreme Court, it would be much better that a COUNTER-SUIT is filed by the Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti challenging the constitutional status of reservation facility being availed by the prosperous Sainis and Yadavs besides the other communities who presently come under the OBC category. If Jats are prosperous according to them, what about the Sainis and Yadavs who are no less prosperous and who have good landholding, business and are educationally equally advanced as Jats if not more.
The push will come to the shove when we Jats make the Hon'ble Courts realize on the basis of hard facts and figures that the ones who have been getting reservation uptil now and are still getting it are in fact equally advanced/backward as the
Jats. On the principle of Equality, giving reservation to some and not to other on the same criteria is in violation of that principle of the constitution.
In case the Hon'ble High Court/Supreme Court say that it is the suit of the non-Jats on the limited question (to be decided) of whether Jats are eligible for reservation or not, Jats should file counter-suits or if counter-suits are not made out or allowed, fresh suits challenging the reservation given to much advanced communities like the Sainis and Yadavs.
Some one has rightly said, offence is the best defense. If Jats are not eligible for reservation, so are the Sainis and Yadavs not eligible.
At the same time, we have to also ensure that we do not widen or deepen the chasm that has been created between the Jats and the non-Jats. Because by fighting with the Non-Jats and further creating differences, we would do exactly what the rascals such as Raj Kumar Saini, Roshan Lal Arya, Capt. Ajay Yadav, etc want. They never were and never will be the representative of the 35 biradari. We have to build bridges with the people from other communities and make them see and realize that Jats demands are reasonable and that their demands are not from any other community, but from the state/central govt.
